Contact Lenses Jewelry

Now this is what I call living in a crazy world! Like it’s not enough already getting used to wear contact lenses, now you can have jewelry contact lenses.

It’s made in Holland and wears Erick Klarenbeek signature. Attached to your contact lens you can have pearls or other gems like it’s nothing! Luckily it’s just a concept (for now). Could you wear such a thing? I find it hard to believe it’s not getting in the way of your sight. What do you say? (via trendygirl)

I could see these things being used in a photo shoot and various music videos to create an effect, but for everyday wear for the regular person I think that it would be asking for trouble.

Gosh I live in the Netherlands and have never ever heard about this. So thank you kpriss for this update on what’s going on in my own country!
Nooo, I don’t see myself wearing lenses like this and I’m not a diamond girl either. But I agree with Ellington and had a giggle about his last line hahaha….

(If ‘he’ is a ‘he’ if not I apologise on beforehand….)

You’re right, Ellington, creating effects would be just the way to put these creations in value. If ever! And maybe for a taste of manga/anime…

Adriana, your fellow countrymen’s ideas travel the world, I can’t help it! They’re very creative!

The muggers will love this…an easy steal! Pull the diamonds along with the contacts and the victim is none the wiser.

Yes kpriss we are an as well creative as inventive nation! The list is long.
I had not heard or read of Eric Klarenbeek before about this very interesting designer. I googled around ….
So thanks again!

Hello Adrianna,
I am indeed a female and no offense taken! : )

It’s not colored contact lenses or those silly “cat’s eye” contacts you can buy. This is foreign material in your eye.

We’re talking about your freakin’ EYESIGHT here!

If you think this is cool or trendy, that’s your right but you should never forget that, once you lose your eyes, they are gone forever. There’s no going back!

Ellington;

I think you’re right. About the only thing I could think they would be useful for is an effect in a photo shoot or a movie. On the other hand, it is quite possible to do the very same things with Photoshop!

Back in the old days, there was a movie, “The Man Who Fell to Earth” starring David Bowie.
Bowie had to wear special contacts for that movie and almost lost his eyesight.

Nowadays, they would be able to do the same effect with computer graphics. No possibility of harm.

Bottom line: I don’t see any use for these things except for some silly fashion guy to make a name for himself by stirring the pot a little.

Ellington, thank you girl! Nice you are around here. I noticed you’re comment on Kpriss great Friday Break with Antonio Banderas. I can’t stop singing and playing it….ay, ay, ay….

Kpriss, at the article……it has been showed on Dutch tv some months ago! I do remember that now. My fave Dutch fashion reviewer poked fun at this ‘diamond tears’…oh, all that info…..sometimes it is too much for me…
Nevertheless I stick to my opinion since I’ve googled Erik Klarenbeek about his other work.

hahaha! Millertime, it’s one possibility indeed! I wouldn’t wanna be the initial wearer!
Adriana – I thought it was someone interesting and inventive too. The list is long and I’m sure there will be more to come on stylefrizz too ;)
R Workman, people don’t always listen to reason when it comes to fashion forward thinking. For special effects it would be better to use a computer. The effect that such contact lenses can provide is somehow easy to pixel in, and surely safer! I thought, initially, that these lenses were normal view contact lenses… except the adorned part..

I think it is an intersting idea to have if you want to make a one time dramatic effect, i think it very well could be a dangerous accessory for everyday wear, but for an extra dressy occasion, it would be nice. It is also intersting to see something like this because it shows just how much we are moving on from where we used to be. As to what we used to consider high fashion jewelry, i mean who ever guessed? Eye Jeewelry?, i never saw it coming =)

great idea, but there are also risks involved in wearing contact lenses.
