Agnete Hegelund for Spring-Summer 2008 Alberta Ferretti Ad Campaign

Light and breezy, this is the new Ad Campaign from Alberta Ferretti for Spring Summer 2008. Steven Meisel captured the new gladiator-themed collection with Agnete Hegelund and Kamila Filipcikova.

Metallic and pastel living together in total laziness. These are the first photos of the Ad Campaign for the Spring Summer 2008 Collection by Alberta Ferretti we’ve already talked about.

Alicia Keys in Naeem Khan Dress

The great Keys voice is wearing a great dress. But every time she makes an official appearance on a Red Carpet she’s got go wrong with something. This time, is the hair.
The beautiful Naeem Khan dress from the Spring Summer 2008 Collection is perfectly balanced in color and sparkle it’s just from neck up that I don’t see everything fit in.

What do you say? It’s the hair in tone with the outfit?

Marc Jacobs Rihanna Handbags

What are we to do with this marketing issue? Fashion only sales when accompanied by a big name. Since the Spring-Summer 2008 face is none the other than Posh, why do I feel puzzled by the name “Rihanna” for one of Marc Jacobs handbags?

Weather it’s the textural grain that costs $1.650 or the putty colored suede priced at $2.075, this Marc Jacobs handbag doesn’t look appealing in any way (at least to me!).
What do you think? Ain’t it outrageously expensive for such looks? Or do you absolutely love it have to have it now?

Kate Moss About to Set a New Web Sweater Trend

Webs have been “in” about 4-5 years ago. Is Kate trying a revival or are we witnessing a rare “don’t” signed by La Moss?

Besides her high-keel-over-the-knee boots and black skinny jeans she carries around everywhere this white web is a big question mark on the eyes of fashionistas all over the world. Let’s wait and see if Kate Moss is going to bring this trend in the spotlight again. (and have our saying in the mean time – it’s a do or a don’t?)

Fashion Goes Green – Recycling Auto Parts Into Trendy Accessories

Fashion’s got a conscience lately. The trends are strongly into recycling. Handbags made from used truck and tractor tire inner tubes or plain used car parts.

Maybe that doesn’t sound convincing to you, but when big screen names turn to designing (ugly) vegan shoes, we could anticipate by taking this new green wave! (damn! And think that last week I just threw at least 4 handbags when I changed my car tire that I found cut off without any chance of survival! Only if I knew this recycling thing earlier, I would have saved the handbags budget for this year!). Anyway, let’s take a look at the new green products and see if this new trend is any good.

Passchal Dad’s Baby Bag

If you think something’s wrong with this handbag, imagine that’s called “Dad’s Baby Case”!!!

Lots of room for Dad’s & Babies things. Padded bottle pocket works well for baby bottle or water bottle. Also makes a great Messenger bag for anyone. Virtually indestructible!

Impressive! Now let’s take a look at a handbag I found for us, girls. Since it’s daddy’s time to carry diapers and bottles, I think we would be just fine with this bag made from tire inner tubes and croc patented.

Passchal Croc Patented Bag

Now look at these handbags! Colorful, all fresh! Not that I would give in for one of them, but at least that changes from the first ones, black and dull. And not only do they make recycled handbags, they’re also into jewelry! Cuffs made from tea tins or earrings from leftovers commercial signs! Consumerism all inverted! Nice!

And that’s not all! The Wall Street Journal reported more designers take the recycling creation road! Furniture builder turned lighting designer Scott Sullivan who now sells rugged industrial-chic lamps made out of used car parts (solderman.com). Mixed-media artist Allison Strine takes vintage license plates and gives them a new life as charms and key chains (allisonstrine.etsy.com or uncommongoods.com). Armando Ramirez, sculptor, creates mini statues using spark plugs, sheet metal and bicycle gears (novice.com).

Lincoln MKS Tuxedo Black

On the other side of the catwalk, car companies like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen, AG’s Audi are thinking about 2011 and beyond when they’ll present the new colored cars.

Chevrolet Equinox Blue Flash

Since a new paint color takes about five years of development and testing and runways don’t paint a car just like that, in-between colors need to be worked on. Designers supervise the process; head masters are confirming the trends when present at the Fashion Shows.

Buick Enclave Cocoa Metallic

In the mean time, let’s take a look at the 2009 Lincoln MKS in “Tuxedo Black”, the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox in “Blue Flash”, the 2007 Buick Enclave in “Cocoa Metallic”, the 2007 Hummer H3 in “Inferno Orange Metallic”, the 2008 Ford Fusion in “Moss Green”, the 2008 Audi A4 in pure white or the 2007 Ford Edge in “Dark Amethyst”.

Hummer H3 Inferno Orange Metallic

I for one think this last news about the catwalk oriented car designers is far more style offending than the handbags made from truck tires. At least those of us who are trying to make a difference by recycling, reusing, won’t do the damage the cars would inflict on the environment.

What do you say? Are you waiting for the moment when you’ll buy a Hummer just to match your Jimmy Choo bought yesterday? Or give in to that new Lincoln just because it matches that uber-trendy clutch you got for who-knows-what-occasion?

Vahina Giocante for the New Agent Provocateur Collection

The new campaign from Agent Provocateur is indeed provocative. Starring Vahina Giocante, a French actress (remember, the last campaign was brought to us by Maggie Gyllenhall) and model Gabriella Oulika, this collection is called The Adventures of Miss AP in “L’Appartement: A Parisienne Love Story”.

I’ll keep you no more, take a look at the pictures, I found them seductive, it’s a lovely story! (lingerie at the state of art)

Bag Obsession – Marni Slouchy Fabric Tote

It’s never easy to live with an obsession. From time to time you’ve got to give in. Last time it was all about shoppers, now this is what I’d like to give in: Marni Slouchy fabric tote. For $507 you get to hang art on your arm, carry it around town and make everyone jealous.

It’s roomy enough to fit all kind of things (14” x 11” x 4”), with brown leather handles and drawstring closure at the top and it brings a natural breeze wherever you’d choose to wear it. What do you say? Save a little on those sales funds and get a little arty for spring-summer?

Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Collection

Chloë Sevigny is working on a global trend – she’s taking her stylist tryout. Her Collection for Opening Ceremony hits the stores this month.

Chloë Sevigny is well known for her let’s say.. unique style when making her public appearances. Opening Ceremony has taken things to the next level by signing this collaboration. The Collection hits stores in January (Colette boutique from Paris is one of the exclusive retailers).

The collection reflects Sevigny’s (actress/fashion icon) style. Pieces will include: floral grunge dresses, mini- and knee-length skirts, backless cardigans and sleeveless button-down shirts, amongst others. The collaboration will also include an accessories collection.

After seeing these (few) pictures from the collection, what can you make of it? Maybe it’s my sense of style that’s a bit relaxed (since it’s weekend and all) but I really don’t feel her creations. I see them as “dusty”. What do you think?
