Supermodel Natalia Vodianova Opens the Russian Winter Festival in London

Catwalk just isn’t enough anymore for this Russian Beauty!

One of the models I appreciate the most, Natalia Vodianova launched the Russian Winter Festival in London. Successful model, happy wife (or at least that’s what we are lead to believe) and mother of three (THREE!!!) children, Natalia doesn’t know what tired means.

She looked so casual chic with a cream combo of wide leg high waist pants and turtleneck sweater plus a tailored tweed jacket, all smiley and natural.

If you happen to be in London, the Russian Winter Festival means market stalls selling traditional crafts and food, theatrical performances and live sets by top Russian artists (Alisa and Fabrika), all of that in Trafalgar Square, Sunday, January 13th, between 12pm and 7.30pm.

I’ve always dreamed of the aviator sunglasses. Always said I’ll get myself a pair and never did until now! Now I want my Aviators! And that’s doesn’t mean any average aviator! But the Ray-Ban Aviator!

I know you’re all familiar with the latest Chanel collection (spring-summer 2008 that is). And I know you noticed the US flag tribute motifs (stars and stripes all over the first part of the presentation).

Lately, dearest Karl Lagerfeld has something to say about everything. And that wouldn’t be strange, if it would be about fashion and style or the industry around beauty.

But Chanel’s Karl has something to say about the social life and the happenings of the public political reality.

After declaring that what’s going on lately between french president Sarkozy and former super model turned singer Carla Bruni was something ordinary, undoubtedly “only quality” in this very interesting relationship, Karl Lagerfeld finds something to say about Ms Clinton.

My favorite is Ms Clinton because you have no real idea what she is wearing. She is so clever and so brilliant that you see only her face — but also what she wears is right, you never really look at it because one is fascinated by her intelligence. But there is never a gimmick or bad detail either.

I was never into politics, tried to stay away from things that are clearly way over my head, but maybe since fashion’s getting into politics (with Carla soon at l’Élysée), why not giving it a fair try? Chanel can forgive Lagerfeld for doing it, surely the world can forgive me…

Life must be difficult for those of us trying to get the last rip-off accessory on the market. Difficult not in figures but in colors, sizes and name tags.

The Spring Summer 2008 campaigns have started for the fashion houses and Burberry makes no exception.

The recent commercial launch for the 2008 spring-summer collection features a special accessory: a proud Medal Studs Warrior Handbag priced at $22,000.

The Medal Studs Warrior Handbag is made of alligator skin with medal stud detailing and the metal drawstring closure is engraved with the “Burberry” logo. Imagine that for $22,000 you don’t even get a silk interior! You get a nylon lining imprinted with the prorsum knight emblem.

Word is, though, that there’s another version of this particular model (as if $22,000 wouldn’t have been enough!) called the Gold Alligator Warrior Handbag, and this last one carries a (golden) (price) tag of $26,000.

Ain’t life just beautiful? I mean despite these ugly and incredibly expensive handbags!

Luxury label Mulberry is finally taking things to the next level – Fall/Winter 2008 Mulberry Shoes Collection!

Jonathan Kelsey, London’s top shoes designer (who learned his craft chez Jimmy Choo) has imagined and realized a five-piece collection of riding boots and pumps. Jonathan is the cousin of Stuart Vevers, the former creative director from Mulberry who was honored with the title “Accessory Designer of the Year” in 2006 at the British Fashion Awards, the Oscars of Fashion Industry.

The collection is scheduled for presentation at the London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2008/2009, February the 14th. Happy Mulberry Shoes-Day, everyone!

Footwear has always been part of our business plan,” says Mulberry’s chief operating officer, Lisa Montague. “We loved Jonathan’s autumn/winter 2007-8 collection and thought his energy and design ethos he would be an excellent fit for our brand. We are currently committed to autumn/winter 2008-9 and spring/summer 2009 and if this goes well, we’d like to further develop footwear in the future.

I used to criticize Katie every now and then, when I actually had reasons to do it. This time, only, I’m writing to express how surprisingly well she looks!

She wore a silver dress from Giorgio Armani Fall Winter 2007 collection, an all metallic look with silver clutch and pumps. Her haircut looked sparklingly just the same. If it wasn’t for Tom as her absolute wrecking accessory, the only bring-along she should have avoided even if she declared (about making Mad Money):

Having [20-month-old daughter] Suri and Tom [on set] was wonderful,” she added. “You think you love to do something and then you have the people you love there. It makes it a billion times better and you didn’t realize you were missing that before. It’s like ‘Oh my God, life can be this good.’

Life can be even better if she would step forward and do something for her. Until then, she’ll be looking gorgeous on her public appearances and a mess on the inside (looking more like her skinny-scary-spice-recently-voted-worst-dressed fashion guru).

At first, when I saw this picture, I really thought it was some kind of last season forgotten nail lacquer.
