Here’s Carine Roitfeld Parisian Apartment
August 27th, 2008 by kpriss
What would you expect from Vogue Paris’ editor in-chief Carine Roitfeld? Besides smoking, being skinny and showing some nipples?
A clean cut decorated apartment? I admit I saw her as someone rigorous but not that much! I would’ve guessed a more boho, Parisian-chic apartment with mountains of cigarettes and tons of soft pornography covering the walls. Instead, I was most amazed seeing this almost mathematical space with no more furniture than strictly needed, everything put away, everything closed in an open space signed David Chipperfield. I couldn’t really live in a place this white. I’d feel like in a perpetual dentist visit. But then again, I guess neither does Carine. I wonder how many hours she truly spends in her apartment/week and how many times she changes her furniture/year. What’s your guess?

Solange Knowles’ Furry Disaster
August 27th, 2008 by kpriss
I wonder if Beyonce herself is managing her sister’s career because Solange Knowles looks every inch her older sister, slimmer and sweeter, but still worryingly similar in voice, appearance and style (if you haven’t had the honor, you can always judge after seeing her last video).
Talking about style..What in the world went through her mind when she chose these booties? A black pony? If her sister had a serious misstep in 2007, the Knowles carry on the atrocious work with Solange’s black furry fury. Fashion disaster runs wild these days and it’s seriously spreading! Who’d be next?

Wallace, Gromit And Lady Campanula Tottington Models For Harvey Nichols
August 27th, 2008 by kpriss
If Hello Kitty can model Dior, than Wallace and Gromit can surely model for Harvey Nichols. And to be honest, I’m beginning to like fashion falling into animation.
It’s a special occasion modeling – the opening of Harvey Nichols Bristol. The animated figures signed by Nick Park (the local claymation artist) do a great job with Alexander McQueen suits, Dolce & Gabanna shirts and Giorgio Armani ties, Paul Smith Scarf (for the first photo), Paul Smith suit, Duchamp scarf (second photo), Alexander McQueen dress, Louboutin shoes and Zagliani bag (for Lady Campanula Tottington). What if all the animation characters out there would start modeling, you’d see who wearing who? (the Steiff Teddy Bear and Karl Lagerfeld aside!)
Missoni Stellar Necklace and Bracelet
August 27th, 2008 by kpriss
Brilliant accessories are hard to find. And even harder to imagine. The proof in pictures: Missoni’s necklace and bracelet are truly impressive, unique pieces of art more than jewelry. So why hang them around your neck or wrist when they actually belong in the astrophysics lab?
I’m not keen on astronomy but these pieces look every bit space fueled. The necklace is a 16 inches long gold tone oversize plate with colored stones embellishment ($1,600). For an additional $900 you can also have the bracelet (that I admit it looks a lot better than the matching necklace). And to think I was a big fan of Missoni’s everfashionable print! Is my fashion sense clouded by my practical sense? This necklace rocks your world?

Uma Thurman’s InStyle US September 2008
August 26th, 2008 by kpriss
Uma Thurman’s InStyle cover was so strange to my eyes and I had no idea why. The styling was just fine, coordinated colors, Uma smiling big.. Wait, what? Uma smiling? Now that’s what was strange about this cover!
Fall Fashion’s InStyle issue covers Uma Thurman as a happy grown up woman who admires European women for their “effortless style, as thought they’ve been culturally raised to wear clothes gracefully and effortlessly”.
Jumping from shoes addiction to jeans, Uma prefers clothes that make her feel good and relaxed.
I look at her flowery and summer bright style in this photo shoot and still can’t understand why I don’t like her here and I still prefer the Pulp Fiction’s Uma more. Ever since, she remained a beautiful woman and developed into a diversified actress (with a 20 years long career already). Read more…

Kirsten Dunst Palm Springs Gray Disaster
August 26th, 2008 by kpriss
I usually love laid back, relaxed outfits. Getting dressed like you were spending 10 seconds choosing your clothes it’s really an art (even if you were planning that combo for a week already).
Looking like you actually spend nothing but those 10 seconds putting your outfit together, on the other hand, is a total mess. And such is our gray-ish Kiki who managed a great fashion disaster for an appearance at the Palm Springs Shortfest. What could’ve happened to her bank account? Or her eyes? Or her mirrors?

Diane Kruger’s InStyle UK September 2008
August 26th, 2008 by kpriss
If Prada’s lace number can get any more covers, than we’re in trouble. Because it has been on so many covers, in so many ways, it’s definitely fall’s hottest trend.
Beautifully timeless Diane Kruger gets to wear the lace this time – a very uninspired and depersonalized color, but if you’re looking at lace as a second skin, this could be the perfect outfit. Aligning herself to the bob-trend, Diane looks as lovely as ever. (more pictures after the jump)

Mary Kate Olsen’s Radiohead Disaster
August 26th, 2008 by kpriss
When you hear that less is more, it doesn’t mean lesser clothes you put on you, more style you’ll struck. Mary Kate Olsen’s Radiohead concert’s outfit was a mess altogether.
I don’t know if I should pick at that man’s plaid shirt she’s wearing or at those transparent beige slippers, but I know she looks like some homeless distracted little girl. I imagine it should be hard to escape the paps, but this is not the way, Mary-Kate, this surely isn’t! You look like someone locked you up and you escaped wearing what you found in the neighbor’s yard. This girl really cares about fashion? Or she’s just a walking style disaster?
