Doutzen Kroes New Hair: Do We Like It?
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
Nothing is official yet – or so I think since I haven’t seen it everywhere in the news, but Doutzen Kroes has a new hairdo! She has taken a page out of the Flotus book of (hair)style and now Doutzen Kroes has a nice fringe to frame her pretty flawless face!
We’ve seen her with clip ons before, so I can’t say this is a surprising look, but Doutzen has such a lovely, almost perfect face that it would’ve been hard to assume it won’t suit her nicely. It seems, though, that the change happened for a reason – a pictorial reason, biensur, or maybe she just went out of hiding for this job and we finally got a chance to see her bangs. Until more details will surface (and with many thanks to our dear friend, Appollonia who tipped us about this), how do you feel about Doutzen Kroes new hairdo?
Fashionably Retro: Kate Moss In Vogue UK June 2013
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
Vogue UK had enough of revolutionary breakthrough covers so they went back to the sure values for a great June 2013 cover and main pictorial. Kate Moss is doing everyone’s favorite retro Bardot-ish pose in front of Patrick Demarchelier’s cameras, languishing in a St Barts décor.
It’s all perfectly summery, posh and very fashionable. Flawless to the point of no more comments needed. Yes, it’s the same Kate Moss, yes, we know her inside and out. Yes, it’s the same epic kind of pictorial we’re all trying to escape from as being too cliché, too safe and too dull for our very avant-garde fashion tastes. But, seriously? Can you get more stylish than this?
The Great Gatsby Soundtrack: Jack White Love Is Blindness
May 4th, 2013 by kpriss
The Great Gatsby is coming. And as mainstream, as cliché, as ‘whatever’, you know you’ll see it! Why? Because everybody will. It’s the new Avatar. The new Titanic. It has that humungous dimension making it appealing beyond any logical resistance. Because, in the end, we’re just living in packs, following the alphas. And the alphas (which, in our modern society, translate by ‘the marketing departments’) tell us to go see The Great Gatsby.
To listen to The Great Gatsby’s soundtrack. Because it has all these big names, all these main trends and currents and you’ll love it. Because the Alphas say you will. And I will, you will, blindly listen to them. To the Alphas. Because we all secretly love to be told what to do, what to wear, where to go, what to watch and what to listen.
Because… Love is Blindness! Jack White’s cover of U2’s classic. Irresistible. Better than the real thing, like the U2s used to say! Hit the jump to experience Jack White’s musical flawlessness!
Iron Man 3 Spoiler Cover: Gwyneth Paltrow And Robert Downey Jr.
May 2nd, 2013 by kpriss
Talking about movies. And 3D. And new social standards… and more. But generally about movies: the new Iron Man 3 will be released tomorrow, Friday, in theaters US-wide. I still don’t understand the approach for this one: being released internationally before being released in the US, but I’m no marketing specialist (if I were, StyleFrizz’ FB account would’ve read 300k fans, not 3k like it does now – wink – subtle enough?).
Gwyneth Paltrow, as we discussed before, reprised her role as Pepper Pots and, biensur, Robert Downey Jr. brilliantly performed again as The Man of Steel. I would love to discuss more about this new Marvel adventure, but I’ll leave the profoundness for another time as I already dug too deep in the Gatsby thing so I’ll keep it on the cover. The Entertainment Weekly Iron Giants cover.

The Great Gatsby Soundtrack: Lana Del Rey Young&Beautiful
May 2nd, 2013 by kpriss
While I was admiring the Red Carpet pictures from The Great Gatsby premiere, I got word about the famous Young&Beautiful song performed by Lana del Rey on Gatsby’s soundtrack as Lana premiered it on stage in a sold-out concert in Luxembourg.
We discussed this before and all agreed upon the amazingness of Baz Luhrmann’s release of The Great Gatsby. The final countdown is on. Almost a week from here, it will be in all and every theater near you. In 3D! Nowadays if a movie really respects itself and the new cinematic standards, it’ll have to go 3D. Otherwise it’s just soooo last season! Scott Fitzgerald himself couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to bring his imagination to life!
But we all know that with every Baz Luhrmann visual movie comes an equally spectacular audio soundtrack. And this time is no exception. Jay Z, Beyonce, Florence and The Machine, Gotye, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra and so many more lined up to enchant our ears during the two-hours long movie! And let’s not forget Lana del Rey, whose style is perfect for the spiritual depth of this story! Her song is aptly chosen as it nonchalantly asks ‘Will you still love me when I’m no longer Young&Beautiful?’

Would You Buy A Food Magazine Promoted&Covered By Karlie Kloss?
May 1st, 2013 by kpriss
I know, I know, I’m usually not here to judge, but you know how everything is image-related nowadays and remembering the reactions Karlie Kloss provoked when she did that Vogue Italia issue some months ago, I just don’t understand this project she’s in…
Cherry Bombe is a biannual magazine about women and food. That’s how they describe themselves. For their first issue ever, I was surprised to discover they chose Karlie Kloss as a cover girl! Karlie. And food. This is either a very smart or a plain uninspired choice from the good people at Cherry Bombe!
Smart because seeing Karlie eat and knowing how she looks like and that she’s a professional model could set a wonderful example for young ladies but also a false incentive to eat and think that good genes would/could take care of the rest. Which they don’t…
Why Did Ghesquiere Leave Balenciaga: The Revealing Interview!
April 30th, 2013 by kpriss
I told you about that reading period I was going through right now and about being struck by the Balenciaga ad published earlier. But let me get some reading out of my ‘System’ now…
A piece from System Magazine in which Nicolas Ghesquiere unreservedly talks about his departure from Balenciaga! You wanted to know more about that, admit it! Well, here’s your chance as Ghesquiere comes clean about the whys and the hows of his parting roads with the Balenciaga maison where he was the beating heart and the visionary mind for 15 years!
And, after reading the lines after the jump, start praying for Alexander Wang and his fashion integrity after entering the Balenciaga circle…

Kristen McMenamy Hides Face In Balenciaga New Ad Campaign
April 30th, 2013 by kpriss
I was doing some reading lately and, right there in the middle of my fashion intelligent moment, I came across the new advertising visuals for the Balenciaga maison. Shrugged my shoulders, ‘meh’-ed and moved on.
I really thought the cramp pose was the worse that could happen to a model while posing in the name of fashion! It’s not. This is way worse! Do you know who this is? It’s Kristen McMenamy! I really wish Wang would step forward and decode this new Balenciaga ad campaign for the rest of us. Who clearly aren’t as fashion-avantgarde as this maison, or as Wang himself…
