Ashely Olsen’s Furniture Collection, Soon?

Rumors swirl around the high fashion circles that Ashley Olsen is aiming for furniture next. (solely her name is circulated, not joined to her sister, Mary-Kate; however, there’s little chance that Ashley breaks out on her own for anything fashion-related, they always go together, the tiny fashtwins)

When I said she’s going for furniture, I meant it – she wants her own furniture collection (by expanding one of their labels to a lifestyle brand). Considering my change of vision regarding Elizabeth And James, I’ll keep my reserves on that one – maybe it’ll actually turn out right. So furniture is not really that different from – say – a skirt? Salma Hayek InStyle June 2010 In McQueen

Salma Hayek Pinault is, undoubtedly, a beautiful woman. But I hardly felt impressed by her wardrobe. Until now. Yes, I’m aware of the fact that this is a magazine cover and they hardly (read impossible) go by without professional styling. Despite that – you know, I know, everybody knows – the stylist doesn’t impose on celebrities. He/she only comes with a selection for the celebrity to choose from. And Salma chose (for the cover of InStyle June 2010) McQueen! Oh, how I love you for doing that!

Facing the genius that was Alexander McQueen, maybe, people will realize what they have before losing it! Other than gorgeously wearing the Spring Summer 2010 McQueen dress on the cover of InStyle, Salma’s inside interview touches her family and fashion interests. Married to fashion mogul Francois-Henri Pinault, Salma is, more than ever, tied to fashion. That makes her opinion even more relevant. But who am I kidding? I still believe the more relevant thing until now is her McQueen cover! What say you? (a second cover seems to be available, you can see it right after the jump; there’s more on Salma’s InStyle here) (photos via)

How Much We Spend To Look And Feel Good?

Far from being a rhetorical question, this was the subject of a recent study conducted in the UK. The results are pretty interesting if you ask me – the only thing really positive in this is that there’s no real barrier between women and men when it comes to spending. Finally women are equal to men. Somewhat.

Involving 3,000 people, the Sheila’s Wheels home insurance study pointed the amount spent by the average woman on her appearance: $1,450 ($37 lingerie, $43 skirt, $73 shoes, $32 top, $55 cardi, $544 jewelry, $109 watch, $210 bag $153 contents within, $153 mobile phone). And men, you’ll ask, hiding your head between your shoulders – well, men actually spent around $1,300 (and there he’s got cheap jeans, cheap tees and nice mobile phone). I don’t know about you, but from where I stand, it looks like women spend their money far more wisely than men… Don’t they? (SW via NL, photo PB)

Blake Lively’s Vogue June 2010

Having already seen Blake Lively on the cover of Vogue before doesn’t make this view more bearable. Au contraire. If you absolutely had to do it, Anna, why go at it again?

Blake Lively covers Vogue June 2010. Alongside Hamish Bowles, Blake Lively (“Best Dressed icon”) spent a good surfing time with Rob Machado and Jonathan Paskowitz. Or pretending to catch the waves. So this makes Vogue’s June issue a surfing issue. Some desperate reach to a much more rejuvenated, hype and shallow audience. Anna, we were really hoping to see some fashion-worthy material in your Vogue. Soon, the big ugly cross corner banner on Vogue’s US cover will read: “All fashion hope abandon ye who enter here”. At least that’ll be honest, right? (if you care for some endless reading, check out June’s story here)

Miranda Kerr’s Elle

So with Gisele still holding the No 1 spot and Lara in her nuptial dream, Miranda Kerr looks like the perfect choice to embody the next supermodel.

Her Elle Magazine photoshoot (you can see scenes from it right after the jump!) is just another example to sustain her ascending. Not only her doll-beauty is undeniable, but she seems so down to earth and lucid, I could listen to her going on and on about how modeling is not a permanent job and she’s just having fun while she still can (did you know Miranda has a book coming out later this year? It’s called Treasure Yourself – you can read more about it here). This even makes me believe there’s still clean fashion out there… Wouldn’t you say?

Luxurious Gadget Apple iPad With Solid Gold Case

I’m so happy to be able to share my iPad love with you! (what say I, love? It’s an obsession, really!) Whenever there’s something iPad popping my way, I’ll make sure you’ll see it too!

Liverpool-based designer Katherine Hughes (from Stuart Hughes aka Goldstriker International, brand specialized in pimping all gadgets out there) took your ordinary (still gorgeous) Apple iPad and replaced its aluminum back case with an identical one. In solid gold adorned with 53 diamonds for the Apple logo. Luckily, only ten such precious $180,000 iPads will see the light of day, trying to outshine the sun. As you know I have serious projects to embed one of those wonderful iPads in my kitchen cabinet, I’m sure it makes no difference if it’s black or gold. Not to mention the $179,500 discount for the black one! Do you think Paris Hilton is already on the waiting list for the golden one? (Stuart Hughes via Newslite)

Lara Stone’s Tisci Wedding Dress

Toldja it was wedding season! “Little Britain” comedian, David Walliams made an honest woman out of Lara Stone as they married this very weekend in London.

The wedding dress was reportedly designed by Riccardo Tisci, the Givenchy head designer. The flowing soft cream with golden detailing (and generous cleavage) was replaced by a mini golden Givenchy dress with equally revealing corset décolleté for the wedding reception. Congrats to the happy couple! Now getting back to the dress/es: which one was your favorite (yes, I know it’s not a complete image of Lara‘s wedding dress in question, let’s hope it’ll pop up any time soon!)? the actual wedding ceremony dress or the reception one (see it right after the jump)? (either way, I’d like to point out the minimalist styling of the bride – keep it in mind, ladies, less is really more for your wedding day! Just look at gorgeous Lara!) (photos via 1, 2)

Fast Stool Third Drawer Down Resin Burger Stool

It’s not your average style article, but then again, what is? Just look at this object and tell me what you think it is!

I know the title is giving it away, and still – would you have ever imagined this giant hamburger to be a stool? I wouldn’t have. Ever! It’s a resin stool in the perfect shape of a burger and you can take it home for $175. It would be a total interior miss chez moi, however, I’m sure it’ll find a proper home somewhere. Doesn’t it look absolutely pop?
