Chloe Sevigny’s Opening Ceremony Spring Summer 2011 Collection
June 10th, 2010 by kpriss
I was having a great day when suddenly Chloe Sevigny’s collection happened to me! Previewing her upcoming Spring Summer 2011 collection, Chloe was looking her usual strange-hip-cool with a serious dose of self absorbedness.
For some unknown reason, though, this collection has a more tamed and calm halo than the previous mix’n’match collections for Opening Ceremony. Though I’m not sold to animal printed hosiery (except socks), especially in such a wild combo as Chloe’s: heavy print dress with leopard print tights. There’s an overall 90s feeling for this collection, hardly academic or special. So if I would’ve excused anyone buying Chloe Sevigny’s collection for Opening Ceremony by saying they wanted something wild, strange and misfit, this time I can’t come up with any pretext for buying Chloe’s OC. What would it be? (via)
Paper Plane Short Animation
June 10th, 2010 by kpriss
The following Paper Plane short animation is the handy work of a student (Margherita Premuroso). And what seems to us like a very short minute, it’s actually the result of 8 months worth of work. (isn’t it amazing? 8 months of grueling work for just one minute of animation?)
You know I’m a complete sucker for good animation, especially the non-creepy kind! So I hope you’ll like this Paper Plane clip just as much as I did! Either way, please feel free to speak your mind! (via)
Kittens On Your Fingers
June 10th, 2010 by kpriss
I’m proud to give you yet another one of those impeccable home made rings that you know will score big. With you, your sister, your daughter, your sister’s daughter, your neighbors, your neighbor’s daughter and so on. (as always, please, if you have any indication as to who’s making these cuties, please step forward and help us out here!)
A ring with a white kitten on it! Who could ever resist? It’s not a smiling one (though I’m sure that could be arranged too) so I’m waiting for the lol cats to come along and have their saying on the ring matter! (via)

So let’s enjoy Mother Nature’s little (or not so little) creatures. They sure enjoy whatever they’re doing! and don’t forget: if you’re having troubles sleeping/eating/whatever else tune into this little smiling paradise and forget about everything and anything else! (photos via)

Photoshop For Skinny Girls: Hide Away Their Bones
June 9th, 2010 by kpriss
Now here’s a piece of information you rarely find on the interwebs of fashion. Because it’s just as taboo-ish as talking about eating disorders and anorexia in a fashionable way.
And yet, here’s what I found out: Photoshop is not only used to slim down a person. Oh, no, my darlings! It’s also used for already skinny persons. To camouflage their bones away, to round up their edgier angles. And as disgusting as it may sound, it only points more in the obvious direction: we live in the Matrix. Everything we see and hear in the media is constantly manipulated and concealed so we would continue our conscience’s beauty sleep. (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)
Little Miss America Collection On Its Way
June 8th, 2010 by kpriss
I have this odd nightmare with toddlers and tiaras haunting me every now and then. I even wrote about it once, hoping coming clean with having such bad dreams will help me heal. Nope. Not a chance.
Now I see my nightmare expanding into a clothing line. The Miss America pageant through Miss America Brands shows us how busy they’ve been with a fashion collection for the little ones. French terry hoodies, purses, polo dresses, ballet slippers and so much more for the 4 to 7 with prices under $25. Because “it’s providing inspiration for little girls” (said Katie Stam, Miss America 2009, spokesperson for the collection). I guess I should put things into a completely different perspective and look at beauty pageants and its participants (regardless of age et caetera) as I would any other profession. Is it really wrong if I can’t? (via)
Eva Herzigova’s Vogue Italy June 2010
June 8th, 2010 by kpriss
There’s something with Italian styling and house chores: Eva Herzigova follows the steps of Madonna from her Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2010 campaign and shows us just how a housewife cum maid should look like.
While D & G’s work was warm and actually nice given Madonna’s latest sticky and sweet gym performances, Eva Herzigova’s Vogue Italia June 2010 brings the creepy side of things on paper. Eva looks a bit demented and acts like she’s been stalked or in a Big Brother mansion. There’s as much sexiness in this pictorial as one would expect to find reading the obituaries. It’s either that, or I really don’t get the Italian point of view. What say you? (click through to see more images, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)
Ready For The $230 Gucci iPad Case?
June 8th, 2010 by kpriss
I remember back in the launching days of the iPad how a crushing number of our contemporaries loathed the new Apple gadget. It seems things are a bit different right now…
Not just because the iPad isn’t Apple’s latest gadget anymore (it was dethroned by the iPhone 4) but also because everybody wants a piece of the iPad. Hollywood famous faces were seen strutting their iPad, renowned fashbrands jump in with fashionables clothing for the iPad. Such is the case with Gucci’s iPad case collection. Tagged with a $230 price, the iPad Gucci case (with a special logo-ed pattern) collection will be enlarged for “special occasions” like Christmas and Valentine’s Day. How nice of them!
There’s a somewhat bitter anecdote here, I can’t help but thinking about it every time I see another celebrity carrying an iPad: many famous lil/big screen people have come forth admitting they don’t even know how to turn a computer on. Apple is making things way easier for them by taking out the keyboard (and turning the screen into a touch/keyboard). Less migraine for the famous ones. Long live Apple! (via)
