Jude Law Is Dior Homme In Guy Ritchie Directed Ad Campaign

Did you miss a good fashvideo? I did! It’s always like a puzzle. I’m always trying to adjust my admiration for something done with excellence to the actual subject of the video.

And I (almost) always fail. This time it’s about Jude Law and Michaela Kocianova advertising for Dior Homme perfume, all under Guy Ritchie’s directions. I’m a Guy Ritchie declared fan, you know that. I’m not that much into Jude Law, but that can be easily overlooked when dealing with something bigger than personal preferences: art. Fashion. I’d like you to take the following 5 minutes (well, actually 4 minutes of film and 1 min of credits) and try to piece this puzzle together. It’s a perfume ad, I got that much, it’s taking place in Paris, I got that too. Now what is it about, exactly? (via)

Fiercest Shoes Of The Season Chau Har Lee’s Platforms

Now this is one fine day to take a walk down Fierce Alley and admire the novelties! After Lady Gaga’s cover, you thought it doesn’t get any better, didn’t you?

Say hello to Chau Har Lee’s shoes! Somewhere between metal art land and the stiletto jungle, there was just enough space for these to be spawned! Half Battlestar Gallactica (the concrete city edition), half artistically challenged creation, the new platforms will be ready to meet the world at Selfridges. However, don’t celebrate too soon! One pair sold, doesn’t take the menace away, you can check out Chau Har Lee’s website for more heels challenges! (via)

Lady Gaga Covers Vogue Hommes Japan

That’s the way that art goes, gross and beyond any other comment! Thank you, Lady Gaga, for teaming up with one of fashion’s most notorious persona non grata (at least in my books)! (that’s Terry Richardson, in case the cover was too discrete in announcing it)

It makes it so much easier to loathe what you did and the visual product of your so-called artsyness! Lady Gaga, my daaahlings, thought the idea of her transcending into Jo Calderone was (maybe) too subtle for the masses of monsters so she got her true self out, on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. This issue truly made the world a better place. Not. (via)

Hermes La Vie Comme Un Conte Fall 2010 Ad Campaign

Remember those images with Constance Jablonski illustrating the fall winter 2010 2011 ad campaign from Hermes? There goes the ad video too!

Just like a fashion fairy tale, the short video builds up suspense in style, swearing on a new fashion Zorro whose tastes run in the high labels only. I loved the boots (especially the chunky heel) and I loved the dark maxi scarf with tribal motifs. Oh, and the bright orange boxes? Yes, yes that carriage, please, the next time, unload it chez moi? Thanks!) (via)

Johanna Richter’s Amazing Swing Necklace

Is that a bird? Is that a plane? Is that Chanel? Nooooh! That’s a swing necklace my daaahlings! There’s no other swing quite like it! Johanna Richter’s design charmed me today with its fashfrivolity ready to transport me right back into my childhood years.

Hang it in your green (still) backyard or in a tall – ceiling room, the wooden balls swing will make your delight and the envy of your friends! And just imagine the endless options to customize it: paint it in oh-so many different colors, add scarves, feathers and God knows what else! I’m dreaming already! (caught in the daydreaming thing I almost forgot to tell you that Johanna Richter’s swing necklace would cost you $1,400) (via)

Tattooed Kitchen Roll. How About It

Does it really make a difference? If your normally white kitchen rolls would be tattooed? Would you wipe things differently with a tattooed piece of paper towel? Would it make cleaning or wiping more rock’n’roll?

Honestly I doubt that. But let’s face it, a kitchen roll with tattoos on makes a pretty interesting addition in one’s kitchen. Wild and untamed. A piece of paper, still. Hm. How about it if they’d make a logoed kitchen roll? You know the kind with LV, GC, CD, YSL, CC and so forth? Kitchen rolls for the fashionable people. I’d want that. Definitely! Wouldn’t you? Chanel Iman, Behati Prinsloo For Ann Taylor’s Loft Fall 2010

Remember last time we talked about Ann Taylor? We were talking about their latest ad campaign with Naomi Watts. Lovely. Now it’s time we give it to the models. Charming Chanel Iman and Behati Prinsloo showcase Ann Taylor’s LOFT Fall 2010 collection.

It’s always a pleasure seeing a (good) model in action. Especially when they allow them to smile! Beneath that thick layer of modeling professionalism you can see a friendly, warm face. That’ll make me buy those clothes any day! More than Fashion Night’s shop imperatives! (but maybe that’s just me – what makes your heart sing in a fashion ad / catalog ?) (Ann Taylor Loft via)
