S. Pellegrino By Missoni Limited Edition Bottles
September 29th, 2010 by kpriss
Remember I was talking about Missoni redesigning Converse shoes for almost two seasons now? Well it’s about time we step up the shoes game and enter the art corridor as I’m about to present you a very special collaboration.
S. Pellegrino, the famed bottled water said to have been sampled and analyzed by the one and only Leonardo di Caprio, ahem da Vinci in 1935 has collaborated with Missoni for a special edition bottle, part of the Italian Talents project. No, the bottle does not have a zig – zag shape but a zig-zag-ed label and it comes with a Missoni signature knit pouch. That’s what makes this bottle interesting, after all. So basically all you need is that special knit sock, pulled on any kind of S.Pellegrino bottle and you have yourself a shelf bottle to make the envy of your fashionable friends! Simple, eh? Have You Heard About The Nailympics?
September 29th, 2010 by kpriss
Well you should have! It’s really worth a look! (at least) The Nailympics 2010 is actually the sixth edition of this respectable event, part of the Olympia Beauty Show (19 – 20 September, London’s Earls Court) dealing with, biensur, nails!
The fake nails Olympics gathers contestants from 24 countries fighting for the trophy of the best fake nail art. And I thought I was a maniac with my French manicure once a week! Clearly I have no real notion on what sacrifices need to be made in the name of art – I still do my dishes a hundred times a week and oh – so many other daily chores that would get me on the housechoresolympics entry list but not anywhere in the proximity of the Nailympics! Oh, the Gods are so unfair! I want to grow little birds on my nails too! (OB via NL)
Vintage Is The New Fashion!
September 29th, 2010 by kpriss
Are you familiar with Jane Aldridge? Sea of Shoes, anyone? Yeah, that’s Jane Aldridge from Sea of Shoes. Well, there she is, with her mother, talking about fashion and vintage.
And what do you know, vintage is the new fashion! It seems buying expensive designers clothing isn’t as interesting as it was or it’s supposed to be. However, purchasing/wearing designer pieces from old fashion times (think the seventies, the fifties) is way more interesting and stylish. Besides, you could even get in trouble at school for wearing non-uniform things. Like.. um.. you know – all those suburb houses that are all alike? Such a disaster that it makes one fashion sensitive soul retreat in itself and escape on Neiman Marcus and more! (SlikeU via NYmag; do check Sea of Shoes if you’re looking for more vintage exclusive and beyond!)
Lenny Kravitz Wearing Rick Owens
September 29th, 2010 by kpriss
I’m a little reticent when it comes to men wearing lipstick and / or other typically feminine clothing & more articles. Does that make me a fashion retrograde? Oh well, I’m pleased with my men wearing men things.
However, seeing Lenny Kravitz wearing high heeled knee high boots, leather pants, a dress and a messenger bag makes me wonder… If by accident he mistaken his daughter wardrobe for his own, if he’s trying to tell us something, if – well, you help me – is Rick Owens’ perspective on men clothing so interesting and rock – hard stylish? Dare To Wear The Wig Bag By Pia Ingelse?
September 28th, 2010 by kpriss
When it comes to architecture and interior design, everything is pretty much permitted. The same when it comes to fashion and style. Those who dare may be blessed with a positive appreciation or not, depending on who’s watching and judging.
If ever you want to toss all your old Barbies (or other dolls), think twice before doing so. Take a look at the images below and you’ll see just why you might regret your artsy-less gesture! All that hair could be transformed into a Wig Bag, just like Pia Ingelse did! A gracious, tres chic bag. Now if we came down to the wearability question, I’d say no. How about you? (PI via)

Temperley London Spring Summer 2011 Via Kate Moss Topshop
September 28th, 2010 by kpriss
You know I’ve been an admirer of Temperley London’s feminine creations (especially since they have so many dresses! It’s like whispering sweet words straight to my heart).
However, there’s something puzzling me in their latest Spring Summer 2011 collection – a particular dress design. Right from the moment I first laid eyes on that dress, I knew I saw it before. And no, it wasn’t just the animal print thing (which seems to be a big hit in the next year’s summer season, contrary to the usual fall usage of the leopard print). It was the very positioning of the print, the inspiration for the dress. Doesn’t it remind you of one of Kate Moss’ dresses? One she also had designed for her Topshop collections (the 2008 fall collection)? (you can see images from the entire collection here)
Disney Princesses. With A Weight Twist
September 28th, 2010 by kpriss
We all used to cradle our infancy imagination with Disney classics. The princesses, the princes, all that magic wrapped our heart and heated our spirits.
Some say our basic psychology draws its sources from our tender infancy, our character and personality being shaped by the various experiences we’ve had as children. Given we’re up against so many complexes and prejudgments, would you say that modifying our childhood fairytale mix would be of help in shaping our future perspective? If so, the newly designed Overweight Disney Princesses by Aly Bellissimo could come in handy. Do you imagine the future generations growing up and aiming to be overweight? I wonder if this satiric embrace of our present consumerism would actually change anything if given the fairy tale injection chance. What say you? (CM via)
