David Gandy Thinks Male Models Don’t Get Enough Respect
January 25th, 2011 by kpriss
I was click – walking through the interwebs fashalleys and I came across this tiny piece about David Gandy. And I remember seeing him somewhere – in an ad with Helena Christensen. And then I though – wait a minute, that’s surely something my lovely ladies would appreciate! Let’s bring him in, check out what he’s saying!
And basically (and I included some quotes right after the jump), he’s complaining about the fashion industry and how male models are not given the proper amount of respect they deserve (oh dang – I’ve watched one or two videos with the guy and I’m already Brit talking!).
Also – he thinks Zoolander was bad for the male models industry. Ummm hate to be the one breaking it to you, David – but there’s also a Zoolander 2 in the works! (anyway, if you’re curious about what he’s saying, click through!) (Contact Music via)

Chloe Sevigny Opening Ceremony Ad Campaign By Spike Jonze
January 25th, 2011 by kpriss
I’m puzzled! I need your help in sorting out this following advertorial situation: Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony is no surprise collaboration anymore. They’ve been at it for the good and bad (I’d say it’s mostly for the latter, but who am I to judge?) and now they’re at it again. And again. And then some.
Spike Jonze (Where the Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich) directed a very special commercial starring the one and only Chloe Sevigny. It will only take 12 seconds to watch it, but I’m warning you – it could take far longer to figure it out! Come, come, press play – what do you say?
Also – I promise one of these days Imma make my directorial debut with my iPhone camera! Don’t say I didn’t fairly warned you when I’d be called up for an Oscar! (via)

Ready For Dr Martens Bags?
January 25th, 2011 by kpriss
I know I am! I have this Dr Martens passion I can’t hide. Give me a classic 8 boot and I’d be happy to pair my flowy dresses with it! It feels so natural, so young and fresh and yet classic at the same time. Yes – that’s it – Dr Martens boots are a must have classic.
But did you know they’re aiming at the accessories market with a glorious line of bags? Leather bags, genderless as far as I can tell, in black, green, navy, white and cherry red are available in the UK for now (350 pieces of all – and I doubt they’re 350 of each color!).
Made in collaboration with a small team of English saddlery specialists from London, the bags stole my heart on the very spot. Sure, if you’re not much the leather type, there’s always the canvas alternative: Dr Martens Parachute Bag. Made in Somerset from industrial materials and fittings from parachute harnesses, these beauties come in three shades (olive, navy, black) and limited to 300 pieces. Which one would you pick?
Also – Hermes who? Give me a Dr Martens cherry red leather bag over that overpriced, overpraised Birkin any day! (Dr Martens via)
Etam Lingerie Fashion Show 2011
January 25th, 2011 by kpriss
With Natalia Vodianova as the face and one of the designers from Etam lingerie, it comes as no surprise that the brand dreams big. So big that they decided to turn their 2011 fashion show into a fanciful event.
Sure she’s with the brand since 2008, but this year we may definitely add Etam on the lingerie shows map with heavy celeb indicators as Kate Moss, Janaelle Monae, the Gossip, the Kills, Karen Elson, not to mention the gorgeous models like Karolina Kurkova or Jac who actually got to walk the catwalk for Etam 2011 (I think I even spotted Eva Herzigova for a second in the video – you watch it too, tell me who else you recognized – it’s right after the jump! click here for the gallery!).
Heidi, Kori, Jasmine DNKY Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign
January 25th, 2011 by kpriss
I was wondering what stood in the way of professional photographers to adopt the street style photographers cum bloggers routine. Remember last year who shot the DKNY Jeans ad campaign? Yep, that’s right, Scott Schumann. Yes, the one and only Sartorialist.
And he did some semi – street style photography. It seems that the concept was adopted by DKNY for further campaigns as well because they kept the street style and changed the photographer. Starring the oh – so – gorgeous Heidi Mount, Kori Richardson and Jasmine Tookes, the DKNY Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign feels like one of those vintage fashion catalogs only with contemporary clothes.
Photographer Nathaniel Goldberg. Also – would you say that Sarto is mad right now? Very… mad? (muahahahaha) Bad, bad DKNY, bad! (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)
Lady In Gray
January 24th, 2011 by kpriss
We’ve talked about it last week. Haven’t we? Well here’s a little something extra on the subject! I just happen to find the most beautiful and inspiring image of a gray haired lady looking nothing short than gorgeous!
It’s the kind of image that makes me sigh and wish I’d be like that when I grow up! Her face, there’s just something, some kind of peace there… (yeah, I know, it’s fur, but maybe it’s just fake fur, you know? plus, it goes so well with her looks and attire!). I have no idea who she is, who photographed her, but I wish I knew! If anyone has any ideas, please step forward.
Also – I think I made up my mind – no hair dye for me, thank you!
UPDATE: The beautiful lady pictured below is Ingmari Lamy (Swedish Model and former muse of Kenzo), thanks Christine! (photo via)
Heidi Klum Shine Perfume
January 24th, 2011 by kpriss
What took her so long? Heidi Klum just inked a deal with Coty (the same brand behind Gwen Stefani’s successful Harajuku Lovers) for a fragrance. The name of the perfume will be Shine and it will become available this very fall.
Heidi is in a good place, she’s showing it and she’s telling it to the world. I may not be all thrilled about celebrities perfumes, but this time, I like that the one celeb behind Shine is all smiles, exuding happiness.
Also: I’m assuming she has one ready for Christmas 2011 called Sparkle? (via)

Buddy Holly True Love Ways
January 24th, 2011 by kpriss
How was your week? How about your weekend? The high and the lows, you can share them all, we’re together here through good and bad!
If you notice the absence of our beloved Friday Break, don’t worry, it’ll come, eventually! The thing is, you see, that it’s so important for me, that when I don’t have the peace of mind to find the right thing for the Friday Break, I just skip it for the day, waiting for the right inspiration to come along!
And there it goes: Buddy Holly with True Love Ways (as sung by Gary Busey). This piece is beautiful beyond words. Just close your eyes and listen to it. Dance if you want to, just get into the peaceful groove and have a wonderful, wonderful week, my lovelies! (more info and the original version of the song right after the jump! )
