Fashionable Headphones: Crocheted Bow Headphones
September 29th, 2011 by kpriss
Fall is coming (seriously? wink) so you might want to keep those lovely ears au chaud while listening to your favorite podcast.
I’ve been such a sucker for all things headbands and hairbows all my “fashionable” life. I couldn’t, for the style of me, overlook this sheer gorgeousness! The crocheted bow headphones made my day! Handmade (by Traci Medeiros – Bagan), vintage, sweet and girly, this is definitely one to have and to keep this season! (and, why not, diy, if it pleases your heart!)
Let’s not forget about the knitting revolution going on! Crocheting is so hot right now! Traci Medeiros – Bagan is one of those traditional artists with a crafy mix’n’match mind and I love her for that! Oh, and if you want variation, Traci has it all covered: you can opt for either a simple crocheted headphones piece or the black cat headphones. Either way you’ll have it, you’ll be a showstopper! (and a Guerrilla one too! wink) You can buy Traci Medeiros – Bagan’s goodies here. Find out more about Traci here.
Balenciaga Spring Summer 2012 Collection
September 29th, 2011 by kpriss
This, I’m certain, will be one of the most talked – about fashion shows this season! Balenciaga Spring Summer 2012 was mind blowing and it got everyone standing throughout the show!
(wink) and you know they did not got up in enthusiasm. And no, it was not because of the exquisite designs Nicolas Ghesquiere delivered for Balenciaga this time around. It was because the benches were crushing! Yep, yes! You heard that right – they were asked politely to lift their fashionable derrieres (and by “they” I understand the likes of Anna Wintour, Mario Testino, Salma Hayek with mega rich Pinault husband and so forth – not an easy crowd to please as it is! You can see them all in the video right after the jump).
Other than the collapsing benches, Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Balenciaga show took on another trend direction: looking back and rethinking with a present sprit. It will take me a while to get used to the collection and to paint it summery, but I have no doubts about its success. Do you? (click through to see my selection, the entire collection here)
Karen Elson’s Vogue Italy October 2011
September 29th, 2011 by kpriss
Raising to be a true star, Franca Sozzani has the attention of the fashion world all to herself. Lacking a true editor star and fighting the one and only Anna Wintour whose Vogue US, although entirely professional and respectable, is more on the celeb side than on the model side, the fashion people turn to Franca’s Vogue Italy for fashion hope.
And she delivers! She so delivers! Here’s Vogue Italia’s October 2011 cover with Karen Elson, photographed by Steven Meisel. It’s a perfectly austere, autumnal cover with the flawless Karen (who looks so beautiful, I can’t take my eyes off of her! Can you?). As for the content, there’s not much out yet. However, it would appear (check out the scan after the jump) that the issue revolves around age and beauty. In a new, unexpected perspective! Can’t wait for more goodies!
UPDATE: Previews made available by Vogue Italy confirm that this issue is truly special. Check out the gallery here!
Jennifer Aniston Angelina Jolie Copycat Style
September 29th, 2011 by kpriss
Even after all this time, people still feel fascinated with Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston and their so-called feud. Over Brad Pitt. Now that Jennifer Aniston is no longer single so tabloids may not be as successful at claiming she’s still lonely and bitter, waiting for Brad to get back to her, they’re trying their hand at a little fashion one on one with, biensur, Angelina!
I was really surprised to find two images of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston sporting surprisingly similar looks. From the identical $2,200 Tom Ford Carine shoulder bag (yeah, what’s up with that, Angelina? Weren’t you supposed to only wear LV?) to the strikingly similar aviator sunglasses, running through the same shade of gray of their clothes, both ladies were virtually dressed the same way. Obsessed much?
Adele Without Makeup
September 28th, 2011 by kpriss
I feel strange for doing this. Because I really love Adele and I think she is one of the most gifted people I’ve ever seen / heard in my life! In her own words: “I wish nothing but the best for you”, Adele! (I can’t even read this phrase anymore without hearing Adele singing it in the back of my head – the lady is simply amazing!).
However, I’m always stunned by what makeup and an inspiring hairdo can do to one’s appearance. We’ve seen it before, here’s the Adele edition: Adele without makeup. I love her dearly, so by no means is this meant to belittle her in our eyes and hearts! It’s just.. how do I put this politely? I have absolutely no clue how to find what style suits me best. How do you get by with styling yourself?) (photos via 1, 2)

Nicole Scherzinger’s Vogue
September 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Last we talked about Nicole Scherzinger, she was under a big fashion disaster question mark. In more recent news, Nicole was photographed for Vogue. The purpose of Nicole doing a Vogue feature is beyond my understanding. Not discussing that right now – what I wanted you to see is the backstage of a fashion photography session.
Check out her glamorous shoes from one picture (the one with the white and red dress – she’s actually wearing her own footwear, see the “before” image with her arriving at the photo session site) and the huge paper clips used to fit the white dress on Nicole’s body! Paper clips! wow! That’s fashion, baby! That’s fashion! (I wonder if it’s the same house Rihanna’s shape issue was photographed in…)

Dare To Wear Fried Chicken, Bacon And Pizza Jewelry By Onchmovement?
September 28th, 2011 by kpriss
Stumbling across the Pink Fried Chicken necklace source, I’d though it would be a great idea to present you with the rest of the Onchmovement goodies! Literally.
Maybe some of you appreciate and even want to wear (or imitate through DIY) the original creations? Why not, after all? More vehemently we try and deny Lady Gaga’s influence on fashion and things style, her attitude may be catching up with everyone.
Lady Gaga wearing the infamous meat dress is still a burning image in my head and regardless of how much I want to reassure myself and believe it won’t happen again, Nicki Minaj sporting a golden chain necklace with a Pink Fried Chicken wing hanging on it is not a step in the right direction. Is it? Onchmovement seem to be pretty serious about this kind of jewelry design. They’ve got a Pink Fried Chicken Drumstick Necklace and some Bacon Jewelry pieces too – check them out after the jump!

D & G Spring Summer 2012 Collection
September 28th, 2011 by kpriss
I usually love the D & G collections. And this D & G Spring Summer 2012 collection is no different! I will miss this line dearly, although the designers said they will not discontinue the label but they will integrate it in the main line instead. (yes, you’re reading that right, Stefano and Domenico announced that was the last collection under the label D & G!)
Let’s not lose focus, the collection is fabulous and I loved it to pieces. Literally! And you know I have a soft spot for D & G maxi dresses! The printed scarf inspiration reigned supreme over the final D & G catwalk and the gipsy spirit, multi prints layers and complicated, uber colored motifs will remain in my heart for the next season (and more seasons to come). How do you think the discontinuation of the D & G will affect the main brand? Was an inspired decision, you think? (click through to see my selection and a video of the fashion show plus one from the backstages of the fashion show; the entire collection here)
