Holidays Home Decor Must: The Knitted Armchair And Knitted Lamp
December 11th, 2011 by kpriss
Something about chunky hand knitted sweaters will always remind me of Christmas and the joy it brings. I may not be the only one, so I thought you might appreciate (at least seeing) these cozy wonders!
Hand Knitted cream Aran armchair slip cover is just one of those crazy beautiful ideas I’d instantly add it to my home. As I looked around, I realized I’d want more than just this beautiful armchair slip cover! I’d like to have the Aran Chunky knitted ottoman slip cover too for comfort purposes; I looooved the knit cream leg warmers for chairs and I was most surprised (in a awesome kind of way) by the Aran Chunky knit hanging light shade! All the handy, most talented work of Lynn Garrett! (check out the wonders I was talking about right after the jump; if you’re interested, you can see more of Lynn’s work or contact her here)
Kat Dennings Does Bust Magazine And We All Know Why
December 11th, 2011 by kpriss
Though I promise myself repeatedly that I’ll watch 2 Broke Girls, I keep falling asleep the moment I hit the couch. So I have no real feeling of Kat Dennings’ role in the above mentioned TV series (do you? Please share?).
Thus I’ll keep my story short, just on the Bust topic. Kat Dennings we all know and love is gracing the December 2011 issue of Bust magazine. And her inside pictorial is beautiful, not above the average, but not Bust-y at all. Like they were trying to make a point? (hmmm. Really?) Like Kat herself is trying to preach in her interview:
“Women are sexy – the end. And you can use that power if you want to. But there’s a certain even more powerful element not using it, just leading with other things – how smart you are, how funny you are.”
Wearing Leather Gloves Can Be Harmful For Our Skin
December 11th, 2011 by kpriss
Can you believe that? Recent studies show that the process of making a leather glove implies chemicals that are still present in high percentage in the end product. Which is potentially harming to our skin.
The substances registered by the German conducted study are chemicals like Chromium, Lead (both can cause allergic reactions), Aniline and Short-chain Chloroparaffins (both considered carcinogenic). You’d be surprised to find out that from a total of seventeen, only two pairs of gloves passed the test. And one of them was from H&M (the other from a German manufacturer, Bernd Vojtisek). Does this mean I won’t be wearing leather gloves any more? I don’t know. How about you?

Meryl Streep’s Vogue January 2012
December 11th, 2011 by kpriss
This is amazing news! Although slightly predictable and more in Vanity Fair’s alley, Vogue US brings Meryl Streep for the cover of their January 2012 issue.
Judging by the looks of it, I’d say it’s Annie Leibovitz, but that is yet to be confirmed (which it already has, see the update below). For the moment, all we have to admire and look at, is Vogue’s US January 2012 cover. Occasioned, biensur, by Meryl Streep’s new movie (she’s impersonating UK’s Iron Lady – and the titles I read were saying that her acting is perfect and that she’s a sure candidate for next year’s Oscars…). Which would actually explain this cover – I doubt Anna would’ve played with the wrong camp. How do you like the cover so far?
UPDATE: Official confirmation has arrived – it’s Annie Leibovitz who’s behind this cover and “Force of Nature pictorial”; here‘s the interview with Meryl.

Care To Join Me For A Cup Of Christmas Tea?
December 9th, 2011 by kpriss
Now since I started this Christmas Tree thing, there’s no stopping me! So I stumbled upon this little treasure – Christmas Tea. It was awarded by the nice people at Core77 for its idea and design.
As I drink lots of tea every day, I really appreciate this Mint design (from Maja Matas, Kresimir Miloloza and Jozo Matas). It needs two people to function and that alone is a wonderful idea, since Christmas is all about sharing with your loved ones! I’d love to share a coup of Christmas Tea with you!

What Kind Of Christmas Tree This Year?
December 9th, 2011 by kpriss
I just realized I completely forgot to put up the Christmas Trees stories this year! I’ll make it up for the delay starting right now with not one, but nine different Christmas Trees for your consideration and inspiration (wink).
And because I have this huuuuge archive with Christmas Trees, I’ll apologize right from the start for the lack of sources. I picked the images here and there, without picking up the sources. Anyway, if you’ll find a particular Tree / design you’re interested in, all you need to do is ask and I’ll do the research for you! Soooo, what kind of Christmas Tree will you be having this year?
Billy Mack Christmas Is All Around. Love Actually Soundtrack
December 9th, 2011 by kpriss
Since I happened to mention this movie earlier (you know, during my New Year’s Eve rant), this wonderful piece of music came to mind: Billy Mack singing Christmas is All Around on Love Actually’s OST, one of my favorite movies, especially during the Holidays season!
I really hope and cross my fingers for more great movies like this one! Have you any suggestions? What I should try other than this? Oh, enough with the small talk, let’s give it to Bill Nighy.. ahem Billy Mack for a good round of Christmas is All Around!
