Must Wear To A Party This Season Sequined Shorts
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
And just because I was talking about the bling thing – one of the most important trends this season, actually (duh! One of these days they’re going to replace “let it snow” with “let it bling”!), there goes a little something from the Free People!
The Sequin Boxer Short. If you’ve been through at least three stores lately, then you know that sequined shorts are in! Big time! Like there’s no party without a sequined short! And you know what? I’m ok with that because I lik’em too! It’s like a pimped up version of those short jeans we’re seeing everywhere during the hot summer time! Now – from loving them to wearing them… I don’t know! Would you wear those wee sequined boxers?
Roger Vivier Shoes For Kids
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
Can you believe it? Roger Vivier is launching a girls shoes line! And you know what? I’m not even surprised! I’m sure you all remember Suri Cruise – the wee one who’s raising eyebrows, pulses and applauses alike with her way of dressing up. Or down, since she’s almost always sans coat even in the coldest of weathers.
Well, what I’m trying to hint here is that the lovely, wee Suri Cruise has been seen wearing Roger Vivier flat shoes. And that’s really something, given that (one) Suri is a little girl and Roger Vivier didn’t (officially) have a line for young elegant ladies such as herself and (two) Suri is only wearing high heels and she made an exception for Roger Vivier!
So, it’s now official – Roger Vivier Jeune Fille (Roger Vivier Girl) will feature leather ballerinas in bright colors priced at apps $312. Proceeds from the sales will fund various charities (Save the Children, Italy; New Yorkers for Childrens, the US). Now all the little girls in the world can wear shoes like Suri did two years ago! Yaay! (or like Suri would say “soooo last season!”)
Bling My Dr Martens! Swarovski Dr Martens Collection
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
Now here’s a funny idea that could definitely spice up your beloved Dr Martens! Swarovski Crystals, baby! Bling’em up!
There’s a special collaboration between Dr Martens and Swarovski which has spawned six boots with encrusted crystals ranging from $400 to $1,000. I know they’re not exactly Jimmy Choo, but that doesn’t mean your Dr Martens don’t have what they need to sparkle! It’s the Season, you know?
Gisele Bunchen’s Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
Awww! Look who’s the ad darling this season! Gisele Bundchen! The gorgeous leggy mom will front the Givenchy Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign in addition to the blue-ish Versace one.
Although Givenchy’s isn’t far from being blue, Riccardo Tisci is putting it all on the dark glam side this season. Dark leather getup matched with black towering sandals is my favorite surfing gear too! Oh, and is Riccardo into surfing boards too? Those night black beauties in the back of the van? Also: the headlines were mentioning Mariacarla Boscono starring in the Givenchy ads alongside Gisele, Chris Moore and Simone Nobili (no word about a canine cast). And I don’t see Mariacarla in this Mert and Marcus picture. I only see the black dog… where are you Mariacarla?
Ready For Versace H & M’s Cruise Collection?
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
As the parties come knocking at your door and you’re slowly but steadily running down all the dress up options from your stylish closet, you get the distinct yet alarming feeling you have to get yourself (yet) another party frock!
H & M Versace Cruise Collection may prove a surprising and endless source of glamorous party outfits (although slightly on the summer side). If you like it loud, colorful and body – glove-ish. I’m particularly interested in the butterfly earrings and the butterfly flat shoes! Check them out after the jump, you have to tell me what you think!
Jimmy Choo Leather Coffee Cup Sleeves
December 19th, 2011 by kpriss
You know I’m not one to shy away from a Starbucks guilty pleasure (and no, Starbucks doesn’t have the slightest idea who I am and if I wouldn’t pick up my weekly Starbucks treat, they wouldn’t notice for sure!). Naturally, when a coffee – related thing comes up, I’m all ears. And eyes.
However – leather coffee cup sleeves from Jimmy Choo? Come on? For the fashionista who has everything but is always on the run, here’s the perfect Christmas Gift from Jimmy Choo! Do you know anyone who’d be happy to own at least one of Jimmy Choo’s leather coffee cup Rika reusable holders? (ha! Reusable! This little word can even make you forget you’re spending $165 for a coffee cup sleeve!)

Gisele Bundchen’s Versace Spring Summer 2012 Blue Ad Campaign
December 16th, 2011 by kpriss
Versace’s ad campaigns represented by a blond headed girl are somewhat of a cliché. So, naturally, seeing Gisele Bundchen fronting Versace’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign wasn’t all that surprising.
The surprise comes with the actual photography. It’s like seeing it through a tanning bed’s lamp. Courtesy Mert and Marcus. (Ryan Barrett also stars in Versace’s upcoming campaign, set to hit the print media in March 2012). Interesting way to start a new advertising season: LV cotton candy, Versace tanning lamps… Wonder what’s next! (I think there’s something wrong with these images – I keep rubbing my eyes like all that blue thing is coming from me! What were they on when they approved this blue mess?)
Vogue’s Covers. Anna Wintour Explaining Her Cover Choices
December 15th, 2011 by kpriss
You may remember I used to moan and frown almost every time a celebrity was on the cover of Vogue magazine. Anna Wintour has made a way of celebrity living for her US edition of Vogue and with every new issue I’m more and more convinced that she was undoubtedly a true visionary.
When the famous Devil wears Prada book proved to be a bestseller and was made a movie (ah! The amazing Meryl Streep!), the portrait of a true FashIron Lady was laid out in the open, before our mortal eyes. Surely the most powerful woman in fashion, Anna showed a gifted eye and unmatched severity reigning chez Vogue.
And as risqué as it may sound – when the Steve Jobs biography was published, a quoted fragment I will cite from my memory said that founder of Apple was a genius but also a tyrant. I’m trying to see the truth between the lines here – all those great personalities, all those great, revolutionary individuals out there seem to be bound to a certain kind of strictness and severity most of us do not understand. And at the end of a long, hard judging day, the simple truth is that they changed the world.
Anna Wintour changed the world. She changed the world of fashion and she continues to do so with every single cover she’s greenlighting for the print. Yes! With celebrities on the cover! An overwhelming percentage of the world’s population is shaped by the media culture. History is made in the media. What else should there be in the printed media other than reflections of the very screens we relentlessly keep on watching? I’d love to hear you out on the matter, I know you have your beautiful minds all set about these issues – all I wish for is that you take it out. Right here, in the comments section! (please watch the video before, though. It’s Anna Wintour’s interview with the CBS. Fashion professionals are a delight. Always.)
