How About Daria Werbowy’s Vogue Paris February 2012?

Yesterday I told you all a short Vogue US story. The one I see through my fashamateur eyes. Now I’d like to tell you the French version. Vogue Paris February 2012 is all about Daria Werbowy as photographed by Inez and Vinoodh.

Daria is simply breathless on the cover, the issue is as promising as can be with an amazingly beautiful Prada swimsuit (although I promise, if I’d ever have a swimsuit like that, I’d frame it rather than face the Ocean waves wearing it!). After all, Daria is such a rare sight in fashion lately, one can’t do otherwise but consider it’s pure luck to have her on a magazine cover! La Stam, one of the best models nowadays changed her hair color. Dramatically! Usually a glam blonde, Jessica Stam is now a sparkling brunette. Her new hair color make her eyes pop even more, I didn’t even know it was possible! I actually like her more with dark hair. Do you?

Rihanna’s new ad campaign for Emporio Armani Underwear, Spring Summer 2012 has surfaced. And all I have to say is that if they turn this into giant billboards, traffic will no longer be safe! Rihanna has that je-ne-sais-quoi that simply makes people look at her. Again and again.

The ads focus on her and her alluring ways more than on the brand itself – I haven’t seen any brand tag in any of the pictures – have you? And although they were passed on as fashion pictures, these could get some marketing departments in trouble if they land in the wrong spot (genre – next to a toy store). As far as I’m concerned, Rihanna’s appeal makes Megan Fox look like a genuine ice block.

Ever since Peter Jackson’s Gollum, I can’t say / write “precious” without hearing him in my head “myyyyy precioooouuussssss”. That’s me. A movie fanatic. Every other day (wink). However, precious is the right word when it comes to these rubs erasers! Like they were made for the world’s fashionistas, Casey Chen’s $12 diamond erasers can beautify any office! … they have my precioussssss! (evil laugh)

Although there’s no telling when these pictures were taken and if Sasha is pregnant in them, Club Monaco’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign is as soft and as ethereal like a whispered lullaby. However, given that the ad campaigns are usually photographed months before they’re officially released, chances are Sasha wasn’t pregnant when these images were taken.

Sasha Pivovarova and Casey Taylor do a great job in being casual for the campaign, as photographed by Serge Leblon. I can’t help but wish for Sasha to show herself during this blessed time, I’d love to see her sweet face avec bebe, they should book her for some pregnancy ads, I bet she looks amazing!

So by now everyone acknowledged and pretty much agreed there were three main fashion coordinates for the 2012 Golden Globes (pale, jewel and, of course, black). However, there’s just one thing that still gets everyone talking and asking why: Shailene Woodley swept her glamorous ivory Marchesa dress for a black asymmetrical cut out dress and, most importantly,5 fingered vibram shoes! Crocs would’ve scored her a higher fashion appreciation!

While I only saw dresses for an entire day and a half, I’ve missed out on something really big yesterday! Prada’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 Men Collection Fashion Show.

Truth is, I’m so alienated by men’s latest fashions, I rather stay away from it. For style integrity reasons. Prada’s fashion show, however, was different. You had to stick till the end to catch the good part, get over the frowns and the severe faces parading up and down in a very German cadence on a strange, strange mix and get to the best part: ending the show were some very interesting faces, to say the least! Adrien Brody, the great Gary Oldman, the amazing Tim Roth and the majestic Willem Dafoe put their model suits on and took the crowd to a level of frenzy never attained before (in this show, at least). Can you believe this Longchamp ad is actually called “Oh my dog!”? It’s clearly a fun test – Longchamp is testing us all to see how much fun on heels are we ready to indulge ourselves in! Well let me tell you that despite of how charming Coco Rocha is and despite of that dog being really cute, I had no fun at all watching this ad!

The thought alone of running around in high heels (platforms, you name it), wearing really short shorts, with a huge handbag hanging on my arm and chasing a mad running dog is giving me the chills! It’s a disaster waiting to happen!

However, as “fun” as the end result was supposed to be, Coco Rocha “nearly broke my ankle a few times filming” so she deserves a frenetic round of applause for this Longchamp! Anyone else felt the cold sweat running down their spine while watching this ad please step forward! (oh, and the Blanca Li directed and choreographed video is right after the jump!
