Azaelia Banks Van Vogue’s Alexander Want’s T Fall 2012 Ad Campaign
July 27th, 2012 by kpriss
I get such a déjà vu feeling! Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks… who am I to judge? They’re both rapping their way to fame. And doing some fashion along the way too.
(don’t get this: in order to be hype and really show your value on the market, you have to get serious with somebody in the fashion industry? And even if that’s the case: why not sticking with them – designer or artist – all the way? Really creating something, a style. A fashion direction?) So Azealia Banks is the latest to represent for Alexander Wang. (she was Jason’s date at the Met Ball 2012, so it’s no surprise after all). Joining previous artists who were the face of Wang’s label in the past: Santigold, Spank Rock, Die Antwoord.
Below, Azealia raps Van Vogue as directed by Daniel Jackson in the Fall 2012 T Alexander Wang Ad Campaign. (I can’t focus on the clothes – can you?)

Iggy Azalea Catwalks At New York Fashion Week. For Who?
July 27th, 2012 by kpriss
So fashion is going vocal. Not the way you’d hope, though: Iggy Azalea is walking the runway at the New York Fashion Week. And we know because she Tweeted it! It seems like Fashion is craving for (even more) attention. I can’t tell if teaming up with new artists is good for the artist or good for the label. Because it surely isn’t good for fashion! (or us) But in the age of Twitter, who cares further than 140 characters?{Twitter}
Karlie Kloss Covers Vogue UK September 2012
July 27th, 2012 by kpriss
Karlie Kloss. Haven’t we talked about her the other day? Ah, yes, when I was convinced that she’s the new Barbie in town. And don’t get me wrong, I still feel the same way, it’s just this childish cover styling that’s got me all confused!
Vogue UK September 2012 doesn’t brag about quality but about quantity: “Biggest Issue Ever”. It is sad to watch how the Olympics get drained of all their meaning and symbolism, of all the hard work that’s going into the Games and translated into biggest issue ever!
Oh, and not to mention the lack of inspiration: using Karlie Kloss for Vogue UK’s Fashion Olympic moment? Hello?! Haven’t you seen Vogue US’ Sports issue? With Karlie? This is sad. (although I’m a positive spirit and I still have faith that the inside content will deliver,) This is dishonoring for the spirit of the Olympics, for Karlie’s modeling immense potential and for the fashion legend of Vogue. (echoing from the caves of fash – hope.. vogue, ogue, gue…)
Choose The Right Tattoo And The Right Place For It: The Tattoo Notebook
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
Now that idea has great potential! Especially for those who can put their finger (pun intended) on the right tattoo (and the right skin patch to ink). There’s a thing called the Tattoo Notebook with 100 pages of high quality paper with unique skin prints (arms, back, so forth) that you can doodle at wish! Or just do like Marc Jacobs and go Cartoon – ish on it! {available here; designed by Kelvin Dodds}

First Look At Blake Lively’s Gucci Premiere Film By Mert And Marcus
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
We saw the picture, it’s about time we enjoyed a preview of Blake Lively’s Gucci short film for the Gucci Premiere ad campaign! I wasn’t expecting Blake to go shooting or speeding on a virtual highway like Rachel Evan Wood (who, as we all know, is a rebel through and through, getting her nose pierced and bravely facing the pain with just kitten moans is proof enough! At least for me.)
Naturally, Blake, who was designated to be the next big Hollywood star when Anna Wintour put her on Vogue’s cover, is a star in Gucci Premiere’s campaign too. She’s looking like a diva and she behaves like a Diva! Now I’m really curious what plot they invented for the soul purpose of promoting a new perfume! (I kept looking and expecting Green Lantern…ahem Ryan Reynolds to pop up somewhere and sweep her off her feet with his lantern…ahem smile!)
(oh, and Mert and Marcus are responsible for the print visuals, Nicolas Winding Refn is the short film’s director while the music is reportedly M83 Midnight City (you can hear it right after the jump, to put an audio to the 25 seconds of video preview).

Gisele Bundchen’s Deja Vu Beach Baby Bump
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
Okay, I don’t want to rain on Gisele’s parade here (and you know me, even a hedgehog’s baby bump gets me all emotional and happy), but really? Again showing her baby bump on the beach (in case you forgot, here’s the first)? That makes it official, then, here’s Gisele Bundchen’s baby #2 bump. But for future pregnancies, please try a more creative official announcement (oh, and cuter swimsuits too)! {Modelinia}
Biker Ready Sneakers: Moto Leather Converse
July 26th, 2012 by kpriss
The day Chuck Taylor patented his Converse All Stars and they were used on the basketball court, it’s hard to believe he saw as far as Converse sneakers for motor bike rides. Or maybe he did, after all, the Rebel without a Cause, James Dean himself used to wear Converse sneakers!
Converse Chuck Taylor Moto Leather Collection! How cool are these leather Converse with zippered closures and animal print linings? They’re simple, yet the metal accents add a certain something that speaks to my heart. Telling me they belong in my closet! (Shoes talk to me, and when they do, they always tell me their rightful place is in my closet!) (available here)
