6 Stunning Couture Dresses, Valentino Spring 2013 Couture Collection
January 24th, 2013 by kpriss
I think I could stare at Couture all day long! There’s just so much going on with haute couture, so many details to check out, so many interesting perspectives to discover! So much work and imagination poured into clothing! Clothing that, for the most part, goes unnoticed and, worse, unworn! It’s mind blowing – the couture shows are the very essence of a fashion show. All that makes fashion spectacular and outstanding goes out on the Couture Catwalk. And it should get so much more attention than it does!
The craftsmanship, the ideas, the excellence! My ideal couture presentation is (was) Givenchy’s. A handful of models posing nicely for the press, all dolled up in their high fashion garments, too precious to walk around in a regular runway presentation.
But getting back to why I started this: Valentino Spring 2013 Couture! They’re usually so romantic and delicate about fashion, I really thought working out the stylists’ flowers message would’ve been a piece of cake. But as it turns out, it’s hard to get flowery fabric without getting a tapestry vibe from the final creation. I worked around those tapestry angles and focused on:
{1} the delicate contrasting cape: because it makes the dress more than the actual dress makes itself! (am I making any sense?)
Here’s Nicole Richie’s New Haircut!
January 24th, 2013 by kpriss
I think it’s safe to declare that the bob is this year’s it haircut! After starting off the year with Vogue’s 6 pages coverage of Karlie Kloss’ haircut, the bob cut is growing stronger with yet another famous long locks goodbye: Nicole Richie’s bob hair.
And judging by the few images shared so far on Nicole’s Instagram, the new haircut is working in her advantage with soft layers, a subtle ombre and long, side parted softly layered bangs.
So to all of you out there who still haven’t had the courage to chop off your long locks: take my word for it (I have a similar messy bob cut by moi), it’s liberating and so fresh! You should try it too!
Prince, The Billboard Icon!
January 24th, 2013 by kpriss
I grew up with Prince. (oh, that came out weird!) I used to listen to Prince’s songs when I was a child. Then I listen to more. Symbol, The Artist Formerly Known as Prince and so forth, but it all comes down to Prince. His undeniable musical genius keep his sound just as fresh and appealing today as it did nearly 40 years ago when he started his career.
(I even added a video of his latest musical release after the jump to testify to that!) Aside from his musical talents, Prince has a unique style. Both on and off stage. Of course I won’t refer myself to his personal life, although that’s where the real Prince is, but to his stage life. And there, Prince’s representation was always flamboyant and electrifyingly fashionable.
Spring Leather: Belstaff Spring 2013 Ad Campaign
January 24th, 2013 by kpriss
Last season, we had high profiled Ewan McGregor advocating for Belstaff’s legendary quality. Not that they even needed it, but it doesn’t hurt to see a familiar face who’s more about quality than just fame vowing for one of the world’s best known leathers works.
For this Spring Summer 2013 season, Belstaff enlisted pretty models who swear on leather clothes & accessories for the warm season. In all righteousness as the pieces designed by Martin Cooper for this Spring are dreamy but strong at the same time. Daria Strokous, Jac Jagaciak, Maud Welzen as photographed by Craig McDean show the new youthful perspective of Belstaff’s new creative. Do we mind?
Taylor Swift Is Disney’s Rapunzel In New Leibovitz Photo
January 23rd, 2013 by kpriss
It’s been a while since we last talked about Annie Leibovitz and Disney! Today, it’s Rapunzel time! Taylor Swift may have lost her Golden Globe to Adele, but she sure won some Disney Dream Portraits time with the wonderfully epic Annie Leibovitz and the Disney team (check out the video after the jump).
What? Azealia Banks was the Rapunzel you had in mind? Yeah, well, as much as she likes to call herself the “young Rapunzel’, you gotta keep it in Disney’s classic themes. And as such, Taylor Swift sure makes a perfect Rapunzel. What do you think of her new golden extensions? Sure, they’re computer enhanced, as you’ll see it from the video after the jump, but what isn’t, nowadays?

Gangster Squad’s Ryan Gosling Suits Up In GQ Australia!
January 23rd, 2013 by kpriss
Have you seen Gangster Squad? Because you really should. It’s one of those old – school, old – era movies that can really take you deep down in those Hollywood glam years, make you breathe the old – fashioned gangster air. But this time I won’t talk about Ryan Gosling in a movie, like I did with his excellent Drive moment. I will, however, talk about Ryan Gosling.
And his feature in GQ Australia. Oh, and about these classy pictures of him from the said magazine which were flawlessly executed by none the other but Mario Testino.
So, Ryan Gosling, huh? He received more accolades for his looks than he did for his acting. And that’s not because he can’t act.

How They Make Shoes Soles: RedWing Shoes Handmade Quality
January 23rd, 2013 by kpriss
I’ve been looking for the right pair of boots this season both for yours truly and also for My Adored Husband. Reading, starring, searching, I narrowed down my selection to a few key brands and RedWing was one of them. The story, the presentation, the legend that the RedWing Shoes Company embody appealed to me.
I told you before, regardless of the design, I will forever favor brands with a story. Labels that believe in more than just financial retribution. This video below showcases this exact particularity in RedWing shoes: the quality and the respect for the product and the customer.
So, my dahlings, just out of curiosity if you’re not (yet) familiarized with RedWing, check out how the shoes soles are being molded and crafted in the video you’ll find after the jump! Beautiful!
