I told you we caught a late night movie a week or so ago. And you know I can’t hold back long and I end up sharing the goodies. So, I don’t know what you’ve heard about “Drive”, you know I don’t read reviews and don’t watch trailers prior to watching the actual movie (so we actually knew nothing about the movie when we went out to see it).
However, what I’m trying to say here is that Drive is really a special, special movie! If you like romcoms, stay away. If you like Tarantino’s so called Bseries movies (think Death Proof) then know that this is how they’re supposed to look and feel like. Enough about the movie. Let’s get back to why I started all this in the first place: Ryan Gosling’s Scorpio jacket from the movie Drive was designed by… Erin Benach. Who is Erin Benach? The first thing you should know it’s that the jacket is made of white satin with knitted wrists and they were actually 13 identical jackets worn by Ryan Gosling’s character throughout the filming of the movie. Heavily inspired by Kenneth Anger’s Scorpio Rising (see what I’m talking about here), the jacket is a classy interpretation of those billowy Korean souvenir jackets. I don’t how you feel about it, or even if you saw Drive (yet), but I think it fits the character like a second skin! Have you seen it, actually?
