Sifting through hundred of thousands Red Carpet pictures can be a real challenge. This is the complete, subjective, concentrate glass of social entertainment from the 2014 MTV VMAs and 2014 Emmys: know all that is worthy of remembering and mentioning!
A lot has happened in the past couple of days on the Red Carpet! While everyone tries their best at commenting (praising) everyone and everything, in just under 48 hours since the event closed its doors, you’d be surprised at what people really do remember! In short, scroll down to read the real buzz!
In the name of paying homage, Katy Perry shows us that nothing has changed from 2001 onward (at least fashion wise) as she walked the 2014 MTV VMAs Red Carpet in a blue jeans strapless dress at the arm of a denim-wearing young fella (Riff Raff doing his best impersonation of Justin Timberlake back in the day).
Because she can’t make up her mind if she wants Beyonce’s crown or Britney’s popular appeal, let’s set a petition in motion for Katy Perry to change her stage name into Baty: half-Katy Perry, half B-pop-queens.

In the name of challenging the worth of fame, notoriously-nobody Amber Rose showed the world that she has nothing to hide. Wait, we already knew that from the countless times she attended an event as someone’s arm candy! But this time it’s different: Amber proves that not only she lacks originality, but she’s also stuck in the late nineties when Rose McGowan – then Marilyn Manson’s GF – paraded her flawless body covered only by a handful of interlocked black strings, totally redefining the modesty coverage issue.
Fully knowing that the event celebrates music and those who are (allegedly) making it, Kim Kardashian attended (as a presenter). Trying to make her best fashionista impression, Kimmy was wearing a creation from Balmain’s Olivier Roustaing. Also in Balmain was the beautiful Joan Smalls who simply stole Kimmy’s graphic show with her twin-outfit!
What stuck in our memory after the 2014 MTV VMAs? The performances of Beyonce and Taylor Swift – their isolated vocals everyone keeps talking about over the past couple of days! Because in the end, no matter how much fabric goes on the Red Carpet parade, there’s no real substance or power of fashion influence.
Now as far as the 2014 Emmy Awards Red Carpet goes, it was simply the dullest in a long time! How do you know that?
Because Julia Roberts got ‘best dressed’ reviews!

Because everyone was wearing floor sweeping dresses!
Because almost everyone was wearing buns!
Because everyone had boooooring nails! (yes, even Zooey Deschanel)

And because the awards went to those who were expected to received it (Breaking Bad and its fabulous cast, Jim Parsons, Big Bang Theory’s revelation, Modern Family and its effervescently funny cast, Fargo and so forth).
Hundreds and hundreds of photos celebrating the power of pretty dresses, fancy shoes and expensive jewelry: how many more Red Carpets before we realize that its true meaning is to guide attendees inside the main event’s chambers? Everywhere we look, there are professionals. Nobody takes a fashion risk anymore because people would – God Forbid – remember her (or him)! No, it’s better we just keep the ‘pleasant’ memory about yet another Grammy Red Carpet which rolled out in an uniform expression of style as carried on by professionals.(images courtesy getty)
