The way I see it, Rick Genest was a visionary. He had a dream. An obsession, and he so went through with it that he became iconic. In his obsession.
Rick Genest (also known as Zombie Boy) and his obsession were embraced by Nicola Formichetti and Lady Gaga, pushed forward on the catwalk, in music videos, in fashion magazines. But that was last season. Now Rick Genest is stuck in the same skin that made him oh-so-famous, looking like the Zombie Boy that he is, amongst his peers. Equally obsessed.
As such, he’s gracing the Rebel Ink Magazine’s latest issue’s cover&cover story pictorial. Surrounded by three other tattooed Graces, all looking upset and icecold. Like all rebels are supposed to. After all, when your only skin is covered in permanent ink, there’s just one position available for you, wherever you’ll go, whatever you do: the ‘rebel’ position. But make no mistake, a rebel is too rebel to be happy, to smile or enjoy anything. He only has his rebel card to play.

A rebel? Oh, well I have another view on what ‘a rebel’ is.
So many people sport tattoos it’s almost mainstream. I wonder what he shall look like when gravity attacks and what happens then to his skin……..
Must be a great magazine for certain ‘rebellious’ tattoo fans though. Each to their own. I hope they enjoy it.
