Talking about her: Adele! I’m so happy she’s one of the 2013 Grammy winners! Not that the other girls nominated in her Best Pop Solo Performance weren’t just as worthy, but I have this particularly soft spot for Adele – plus we just re-watched together her Royal Albert Hall Set Fire To The Rain performance. So emotional. So powerful!
But what about Adele’s red flowery dress? Pretty unexpected choice, as far as I’m concerned. I was used to seeing Adele in black dresses, dramatic, retro gowns and this one – although charmingly retro – is more joyful than what she used to wear on the Red Carpet.
It’s a little tweaked Valentino dress from the Spring 2013 Couture collection finished with equally flowery shoes and earrings. I liked the gown on Adele – it brings out her joyful side.
Did you notice Adele’s ring on her perfectly burnt pink polished ring finger? Is it me, or that looks like a wedding band? Oh, and also – did you know that Adele had a tattoo? I didn’t – I just discovered right now while writing this piece and looking at the detailed pictures! It’s an A. I wonder what’s it for… (images Getty; styledotcom)
At first I was like “WT* Adele?” but the longer I looked at her the more I liked it. That’s her and her body. No crazy diets and training schedule. The dress has a perfect fit and suits her joyful persona. More like this ‘normality’ pleazzzz…..
The tattoo seems to be a homage to her son Angelo as rumour has it.
Although I do find this dress pattern to be rather Mary Poppins Carpetbagish, Adele looks lovely and that is all that matters. : )
@Ellington – I know a few people who completely agree with you! But I still keep being charmed by Adele’s personality and I think that her character is way bigger than that dress. Which is big enough already (in terms of pattern & color).
@Appollonia – I think I got my fashion signs all mixed up – I actually loved the dress the minute I laid eyes on! :))
You know, every body loves Adele. I wish I were on of those people. I am loving this very moment that Adele looks like the fool that she is. And you know what? I am certainly glad that the fashion house that is the laughing stock of the fashion world now is Valentino. For I have never ever loved any of the designs that the duo, Maria Grazie Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, has churned out for the House of Valentino since Valentino retired. Ha! This is excellent. I am rubbing my hands in glee. What a major fashion faux pas.
I’m sorry but that dress did nothing for her.
Ok, the dress reminds me of one very.. girly… couch, BUT! when u think that this is Adele, it is like “All hail to the Queen”. She does not give a blip about what people think. I would love to have a coffee with her :D She must be hilarious to talk to!
