Chopard is known for their complicated craft and overcomplicated pieces of jewelry. The Animal World Collection makes no exception from the uber detailed work we were used to seeing chez Chopard so far.
Marking a special anniversary – Chopard’s 150th anniversary – the new collection is comprised of 150 unique pieces, amazing bejeweled art so hard to contain in just a few phrases. (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)
From the emerald-stuffed, fairy tale-ish frog ring to the stunning monkey pendant, Chopard’s Animal World collection is as visually stunning as it is impeccably designed and crafted. Rings, brooches, earrings, bracelets, pendants, necklaces and watches, there’s a little something for every taste.
As for actually wearing the pieces, I think they deserve the key role of an outfit, not for being just bright and extremely precious, but because of the amazing craft they stand for. Unexpected materials were brought together for this collection: pearls, moonstones, kunzites, quartz, Paraiba turmalines, red gold, titanium, precious woods.
Take for instance the Clownfish necklace took 750 hours to make and 2160 stones to mount in (apatites, aquamarines, chalcedonies, diamonds, moonstones, Paraiba turmalines, quartz, topazes and sapphires).
Flawlessly presented on Laura Chiatti, Chopard’s new anniversary Animal World Collection is purely breathtaking. Even if I don’t really consider it for purchasing reasons, nothing stops us from amazing ourselves at the talented hands out there putting tiny wonders like these together. Chapeau! I adore the monkey in the ring necklace. The watches are a tad over the top for my taste.
I adore the frog prince piece and the bumble bee and the white rabbit cuff (the pieces make me think of Alice in Wonderland!) they are beautifully rendered. : )
I don’t like the watches though they are too Liberace for me.
Is it possible to order the Monkey Pendant?
I am looking for the monkey or the gorilla where or how can I order?
@Scott Price and @Jennifer Karcher – Chopard still carries / sells this collection. I think it’s best to ask them directly about the availability or check out our nearest Chopard store.
