Kate Moss in Chanel for her Birthday Party
January 17th, 2008 by kpriss
After losing honors chez Chanel, Kate Moss is looking for re-acceptance. For her 34th birthday she showed up wearing the latest Chanel Spring-Summer creations.
If you’re as puzzled as I am about this Kate Moss becoming Claudia Schiffer, please write down! Not only La Moss is wearing the same outfits Karl Lagerfeld chosed for Claudia’s Spring-Summer 2008 photo shoot, but even her hair has a Schiffer-do!
What do you think? Is Kate really that desperate to pull a Claudia Schiffer on her birthday? Or is she just looking fab as usual?
Atonement’s Keira Knightley Pictures by Steven Klein for W Magazine
January 17th, 2008 by kpriss
Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, the stars from Atonement gave an interview for the W Magazine. Even if the prized movie shows them as lovers, in real life the two seem brother and sister.
The pictures do present two spoiled young persons defying the camera and us, ultimately. Wearing Chanel, Keira gives the same look as ever (though she kindda keeps her clothes on for this photoshoot), skinny as always.
The fashion’s upon them, the world as well, seems like nothing’s standing in their way (I love that black and white picture where they stand apart. It’s like they come from two different worlds!).
What do you think? Do they make a lovelier couple than back in pirates days with Orlando Bloom?
Fashion Goes Black for the National Board of Review Awards Gala
January 16th, 2008 by kpriss
Fashion goes back to black for a Red Carpet allowed by the strikers. The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala was authorized last night.
Among the awarded were Diablo Cody for Best Original Screenplay (Juno), Ellen Page for Best Breakout Performance by an Actress (Juno), Casey Affleck for Supporting-Actor (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), George Clooney for Best Actor Award (Michael Clayton), No Country for Old Men for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Anyway, the purpose of this article was not to congratulate the winners but to stare at the pictures of a black Red Carpet.
Even if it’s a rare view nowadays, stars made some really effortless looks for this Red Carpet! What is the idea with all these dark outfits? I only spotted one exception – Jurnee Smollett – a bridal appearance, not to applause in any other way than non-black statement.
What do you say? Besides the fact that some of the actresses looked stunning, even in dark colors, an event like this isn’t it supposed to be more sunny? Like in “colors”? I mean it’s not like someone died, or anything?! It’s a celebration! Do you agree on their choices?
(This Red Carpet Gala Catastrophe Pictures are: Jennifer Garner, Tilda Swinton, Emily Mortimer, Ellen Page, Kate Winslet, Nicole Miller, Jurnee Smollett, George Clooney and Sarah Larson, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas)
Diesel for Successful Living into Home Textile
January 16th, 2008 by kpriss
Diesel expands to the home range. After denim, accessories, fragrances, the Diesel brand is taking over the home textile field.
They just signed for a five-year license with Italy’s main producer in home textile – Gruppo Zucchi. Nobody has any idea of how the collections will turn out but the purpose is to bring Diesel’s irony and “cool”ness in home design in a tryout to revolutionize the traditions.
Let’s hope for the best!
Valentino to Receive Medal of Merit
January 16th, 2008 by kpriss
While preparing his officials goodbyes in his 312th presentation (after he leagued Alessandra Facchinetti as his successor) Valentino has been nominated for a new distinction.
Though we’re sorrowed, we can’t overlook that he’s going to be rewarded with the Medal of Merit from the City of Paris.
Even if Valentino is already in the famous French Legion d’Honneur, this is a great moment for him.
Bravo! and thank you for all those marvelous fashion moments you’ve given us through the years!
Natalie Portman Pictures by Raymond Meier
January 15th, 2008 by kpriss
Answering a few questions interview for NY Times, Natalie Portman talked about her acting beginnings, her dream job in the Jungle watching gorillas, her age, shaving her head, curly hair and death.
“Death scenes are not more difficult than other scenes. It’s much harder to laugh than cry. I find it so hard to fake laughing. I have no laugh except my own, and that laugh is very particular, very modern. It’s hard to make any other laugh sound real. It’s like sneezing: you really only have one sneeze.”
Is she, as predicted, as expected of, a new breed of Hollywood stars? When they’re all about red carpet, sunglasses, handbags, shoes, party all night, DUI, divorces, where does this discreet little lady fit in (true, she has a strange taste in shoes, but who cares now?)? A brilliant student who knew how to integrate eight theatrical representations in a week with full time high school and multiple tests in the same 24hours-a-day we all have.
Enough said, let’s take a look at the pictures, the main reason I decided to write this article. I already told you pictures with a message drive me more than so-called “fashion” pictures showing just things.
These Natalie Portman images captured by Raymond Meier bring her out of these times and put her into her own time, her own rules and her own world.
Do you think she’s representing the new “wave” refreshing the Red Carpet in intelligence most of all?

Jovovich-Hawk Collection For Target Preview
January 15th, 2008 by kpriss
Update: I posted the recently revealed models from the Jovovich-Hawk for Target Go international. You can find the pictures right after the text. Enjoy!
I’ve always been a fan of classic navy and bohemian dresses in summertime. The much awaited Jovovich-Hawk Collection for Target is all about bohemian chic, it seems.
The Collection is supposed to hit the stores debut march. It’s all bohemian chic as these scans recently spread on the internet announce it. I was afraid it’s gonna be something pulled out of the 5th element or the Resident Evil-Milla Jovovich but I was completely wrong! It looks far better than Mango by the Cruz Sisters.
Let’s hope the rest of the collection it’s at least as good-looking as these images here.
Call me precious, but these pictures really don’t get to me! They’re not bad, in a street fashion way, but ordinary nevertheless. I’m fond of the printed dress resembling the blouse shown in the first picture-glimpse of the collection, the white dress with flowers but further on I say it’s a nice collection, just nice. (oh, and in case you were wondering, the boots come from Steve Madden)
Portrait of a Performer – Courtney Love by Hedi Slimane
January 15th, 2008 by kpriss
Hedi Slimane, designer for Dior Homme, delivered a surprising portrait of Courtney Love. All in black and white, “Courtney Love by Hedi Slimane” is set to reveal a new face of the performer in Courney, a fashionable clean face.
Dior’s Hedi captured Love in an exclusive limited edition photo-journal available at Visionaire for $80.00. The pictures look cold but interrogative, descriptive and peaceful. The work of art of two influential figures or our times.
Looking like that, I could almost forgive her for being so vicious (in actual terms) and coming from a time when suicidal was glamorous. What do you think? Are these pictures meaningful or do they give away the same “Hole” Courtney Love?
