2013 Oscars 7 Major Fashion Fails

Wrapping up this wonderful 2013 Oscars night, I’d like you to join me for a couple of conclusive stories. I’ll start with the negative, so I can get it out of the way and concentrate and the beautiful things!
Like many fanciful events, the 2013 Oscars Red Carpet had its share of beauties but also a good slice of meh-s as well. And sifting through some of the most unimpressive, uninspired looks of the night, I think I came up with some representative examples of Red Carpet fashion fails at the 2013 Oscars!

2013 Oscars Fashion: Kristen Stewart Reem Acra White Lace Dress

Another surprising presenter at the 2013 Oscars ceremony was Kristen Stewart. Looking even more awkward than usual, in a bridal white dress from Reem Acra Couture, Kristen got everyone talking about her Red Carpet unusual accessories: the crutches.
Keeping mum about where, how or why she injured herself, Kristen Stewart bravely showed up to fulfill her presenter duties. Word on the interwebs is that she even ditched her usual Converse sneakers in favor of a Jimmy Choo fancy pair of shoes. Hard to believe, I know, but if you’ll look at the pictures, you’ll convince yourself that Kristen Stewart finished her white bridal dress – crutches – Red Carpet look with a pair of shiny peep toes platform pumps.
2013 Oscars Fashion: Sandra Bullock Elie Saab Black Lace Dress

As I started the black dresses topic, I’d like to talk about a particular black dress I noticed during the 2013 Oscars night that I really appreciated. Sandra Bullock was flawless in a black lace dress from the Elie Saab Couture Spring 2013 collection.
Sandra attended the 2013 Oscars ceremony as a presenter, for the Film Editing category (William Goldenberg won, for his great work in Argo). While doing so, Sandra exercised her funny faces, looking all kinds of goofy and charming! But back to the dress:

By choosing a black dress, Adele must’ve pleased all those who disagreed of her colorful Valentino Grammy dress. Although it was, again, a lace dress, being a black one felt more suitable for Adele’s classic taste and style.
However, as we’ve seen on countless lovely ladies on this 2013 Oscars Red Carpet, Adele’s black lace dress was also a custom made, Jenny Packham’s designs featuring countless lace & beads designs, but none exactly like the one Adele was wearing tonight!
2013 Oscars Fashion Reese Witherspoon Vuitton Blue Dress

Talking about custom made, Reese Witherspoon’s dress comes natural after talking about Helen Hunt’s blue dress. Reese wore a custom made Louis Vuitton cobalt blue dress with bow detail.
She was one of the presenters at tonight’s 2013 Oscars ceremony, offering a full display of Old Hollywood Glamour with her classic gown and her wavy hairdo. She looked really beautiful and lined up at tonight’s minimal jewelry as she opted for a pair of earrings and a fancy bracelet, both of them, as Reese stated, being chosen by her daughter, Ava.

Talking about all the glamour and the glitz of the 2013 Oscars Red Carpet has me wondering how did Helen Hunt chose her dress tonight! Because if you haven’t already, you’re just about to find out something really surprising and unusual for Red Carpet parades!
Because although on a first glance, Helen was dressed in a striking replica of the red Valentino dress worn by Jennifer Aniston tonight, only in blue and in cheaper fabric, the truth is out there! Helen Hunt, my dahlings, was wearing a H&M blue dress on the Oscars Red Carpet!

2013 Oscars Fashion: Amanda Seyfried Embroidered McQueen Dress

Custom dress was de rigueur at the 2013 Oscars! There was almost no dress walking the Red Carpet tonight in its catwalk version! Amanda Seyfried’s gown makes no exception to the custom rule!
She was wearing a light lavender dress with heavy embroidery from Alexander McQueen. The dress was lovely, suited Amanda wonderfully, although I was very surprised to see her wearing McQueen – not exactly the McQueen kind of girl. At least not in my mind.
2013 Oscars Fashion: Kerry Washington Miu Miu Coral Dress

I’m beginning to think that Miuccia Prada has an entire wardrobe set aside just for Red Carpet purposes! Pieces signed by her keep popping here and there on our beloved celebs without being tied to a particular Prada or Miu Miu collection!
Such is the case for Kerry Washington here who was wearing a beautiful coral dress with a label reading Miu Miu and yet from no particular catwalk season. We’ve seen it happening before on the Red Carpet, we even saw it tonight, for the 2013 Oscars, on Anne Hathaway! Miuccia Prada waving her sartorial wand and making Red Carpet dresses over night!
