Gucci by Gucci Commercial and Backstage Shooting by David Lynch
February 10th, 2008 by kpriss
Today it’s advertising day. Dimanche, nothing to do but lay around watching some short movies. Enjoy!
Fashion commercials go cultissimo. “Just stay here and kinda keep moving with it, but it’s like whoa inside.” said Le David Lynch who plays director for Gucci by Gucci advertising clip for 2008.
Heart of Glass provides the reason for Natasha Poly, Freja Beha Erichsen and Raquel Zimmerman to move like they’ve been on drugs.
Alongside the final product you can also see the backstage shooting. You know me by know, I speak my mind and when I see something like these clips, I fell compulsive on speaking up. I used to appreciate David Lynch for his vision and approach of the screen work. Now I guess when you pass a certain age (David just had his 62nd anniversary), a woman’s beauty makes you lose grip of yourself and drunken you with superficial.
The final ad looks put together. Three girls moving like addicts, all alone, all in kinda the same outfit for a fragrance’s sake. M. let’s say so.
When it comes to the backstage shooting, I get curious – what were they thinking? What was Lynch himself thinking? There’s no glamour in this Gucci advertising, only a gloomy sensation of physical overloading featuring chemical fed-up women.
But please, after taking a look at both films, tell me what you think!

Nicole Kidman as Marilyn Monroe for Harper’s Bazaar Anniversary Issue
February 9th, 2008 by kpriss
Harper’s Bazaar Australia celebrated their 10th anniversary with a “Some Like it Hot” photo shoot with Nicole Kidman.
Now some like Nicole. I have to be honest about it and say I don’t. She’s cold and inexpressive and these photos don’t show anything less than that (at least she doesn’t get to wear her own clothes to terrify us with her taste!). I don’t judge the woman behind the actress, I only express my opinion after watching her playing part after part without changing her expression.
What do you think? She’s a good impersonator of Marilyn Monroe? Or looking like her usual ice-queen self? Don’t forget to cast your vote after the pictures! Read more…

Fergie PJ Venus
February 9th, 2008 by kpriss
Peach John has a new line of lingerie. And it’s not only Peach John’s but Fergie’s also. Sounds interesting?
So, it’s about a big name from the music scene who undresses for selling her own Lingerie line called PJ Venus. Curvalicious Fergie is meant to sell almost anything.
If you give this girl a hammer and tell her to pose for an advertising photo for that hammer, I’m sure she’ll find a way to make you wanna buy it.
I imagine that’s the hall idea behind any product line featuring celebrities, but only some names sell and only some faces are convincing.
So what do you say? Convincing enough for you?
Kylie Minogue Showtime Perfume
February 9th, 2008 by kpriss
I know you’ve been holding your breath until the next celeb tagged line would appear so I said to myself why make things harder? Here it is:
Kylie Minogue has a new perfume! Busy little bee! After her Kylie At Home furnishing line recently launched, she’s sweetening things up with a little Showtime.
“tantalizing cocktail of wild strawberry, loganberry and blackcurrant leads into an armload of roses, blue freesias, lilacs and tiare flowers spiked with sweet liquorice. All beautifully balanced on magnetic notes of rosewood, white musk and a praline-vanilla accord.”
After understanding mostly nothing from the above press-released description of the Showtime Eau de Toilette please endure me in not understanding the Eau de Parfum: Read more…

Chanel Skin Care – Hydramax and Active Collection and Sublimage Sérum
February 9th, 2008 by kpriss
The latest from Chanel Skin Care line – Chanel Hydramax and Active Collection and Chanel Sublimage Sérum Essential Regenerating Concentrate are believed to revolutionize the world of skincare products.
Matriptase is what makes Chanel Hydramax and Active Collection so special. It’s a natural enzyme of which effects (I have no idea what it does, actually! But then again, this must be the charm of science) are enhanced by Ceratonia PFA.
Now, with Ceratonia it’s another story – it’s an ingredient made by Chanel from Maroccan carob trees and it’s meant to increase the effect of the natural enzyme named above. How’s that possible? Well, it’s quite simple – through a process named polyfractioning!
Ain’t science wonderful? I can’t understand a single word they’re saying even if they’re counting on these fabulous explanations to seduce the consumer.
The Active Collection means Active Sérum (it comes in 1.7 oz at $105 and 1 oz at $75), Active Moisture Cream (it comes in 1.7 oz at $65) and Active Moisture Tinted Lotion (it comes in 1.4 oz at $55 and it’s available in three shades). Read more…
Victoria Beckham is Orange for Michael Kors
February 8th, 2008 by kpriss
I don’t even care what she’s wearing or why! It’s enough that it looks like a draped robe de chambre she accidentally dipped in the fresh orange juice mug for the very morning and then she believed to have made a deep fashion statement when deciding to still wear the same dipped-in-robe-de-chambre to a catwalk presentation.
Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Shoes
February 8th, 2008 by kpriss
UPDATE: The new Spring Summer 2009 Collection from Melissa and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania is out! Don’t miss it!
“Life in plastic, is fantastic” spoke a song years ago. I guess they must have been familiar with the Brazilian ways.
Melissa is a well known brand in the shoes industry (at least in Brazil) and if you take a look at this 1979 sandal, you’ll know exactly what Melissa is all about! Besides being made from plastic, Melissa Shoes also seem to have a golden hitch somewhere for they sell about 2.3 million pairs a year.
