Christian Lacroix Collection for La Redoute 2008

One of the hardest ways to make money is online business. However when in retail, the long and complicated way from a click to millions seems somehow easier.

La Redoute is one of the most successful european retail online-boutique and their marketing department has come up with yet another surprising idea, another haute-couture collaboration – with Christian Lacroix.

Tights are the New Leggings for 2008?

After the gradient tights and learning how to dip-dye them yourself, fashion’s throwing another challenge:

Bebaroque tights! It’s like covering your leg in a work of art. Selling for $140, I’m sure the powerful resources across the internet (beauty bloggers, I mean) will soon enough find ways to climb those spring flowers up you gorgeous legs in no time and no money!

Bebaroque TightsUntil that moment (and be sure I’ll keep you posted with what those ever inventing girls do by themselves in the name of fashion!) arrives, I’m bound to tell you these tights don’t impress me too much (nor did the gradient tights for the matter). Maybe it’s the age, maybe it’s my wardrobe that doesn’t get the idea, but me, I was more of a leggings fan.

What about you? Already dip dyed half of your tights and looking forward to carry on the springy thingie with these bebaroque ones? Do you agree on leaving those leggings aside? Or you’re stubborn like Ms Lindsay Lohan who makes paparazzi’s delight when showing up with her second-skin-leggings?

Kate Moss Mulberry Green Bag

It’s been few days now since I’m looking closely and admiring the entire stir around one handbag. And one woman.

Kate La Moss is spotted doing this, Kate La Moss is photographed wearing that. The first to know what she’s up to (once more) is (no, not awarded) but applauded by a humongous crowd of more or less admirers of Miss La Moss. Thus we must adhere to this wave see how makes us feel – ladies and gents, I give you Kate Moss wearing (what I believe without any doubt to be an outrageously expensive) a Green Mulberry Bag.

Darby Scott $110,000 Clutch

Today was “accessories” day for me. Not your average blog-posting with a shoe/bag picture and “look what a nice bag/pair of shoes!” beneath. Instead of those dull average catwalk shades – here’s some pepper:

Darby Scott’s minaudière clutch. Nothing smashing about it. Looking from afar, you’d say it’s just wire and plastic. Well, I have news for you! It’s an 18-carat yellow gold structure with Green Tourmaline and Diamond worth $110,000 (darbyscott.com).

I wonder, though, what fits in there? I mean sure, it’s an evening bag, but don’t they think about phones? About papers? What does one carry in an evening bag? Pardon me, what does one carry in an $110,000 evening bag?

Chanel Carousel Fall-Winter 2008

I bet you missed a good ol’ Chanel article! Well, no need to linger on, here it is.

You already know I’m against presenting winter fashion when spring is hardly in the air. This is different. I’m not talking about the show (even if my tongue tickles), I’m talking about the setting. About the Kaiser’s sense of on stage entertainment.

Chanel Automne-Hiver 2008/9 took place at the Palais Royal and was presented in an unusual manner (not that we expected an average Lagerfeld). I guess when you’re saying mix work with passion and hard labor becomes nothing but children games, you didn’t had that in mind. Well, the Kaiser thinks big. And I mean merry-go-round-big!

Chanel Carousel Fall-Winter 2008-2009 Collection

It’s like when you get to ride a Ferrari or the unicorn in a real merry-go-round, only this time you didn’t get to ride them Chanel wonders. You just got a look at and imagined what could you have possibly done with those humongous pearls, cuffs, bags, brooches, hats et caetera, et caetera. It’s all about playing (as Karl Lagerfeld declared after the show – that he likes treating those garments like they weren’t pure luxury and take them like a pair of cheap jeans). But playing with clothes costing over $1,000 it’s not really my style.

How did you felt about this Chanel fall-winter 2008-2009 staging? (and I’m not talking clothes, yet) Did the playful Lagerfeld spirit got to you?

Birkenstock Shoes Fight Against Breast Cancer

For years we know that Birkenstock works wonders for our feet. Well, it seems that now they’re willing to do the same for our breasts…

The world famous Madrid design from Birkenstock has a new sparkling pink updo and that’s because he’s helping raise money for researching a cure in the fight against breast cancer. App. $7 from each Birkenstock pair sold will hit the Breast Cancer Campaign Funds.

Christy Turlington for Chanel 2008

I always believed that if you want to play it safe, you’ll play it Chanel. It seems to me it’s not only my conviction.

Besides being the whole world’s, back at Chanel they seem to have a vice-versa version – if they want to play it safe, they play it old school tip top. Doubt it? Think Claudia Schiffer campaigning for this Summer Chanel Cruise Collection. Now you can add Christy Turlington to the sparkling list.

Besides her Deutsch hairdo (wonder if that’s Karl’s merit also) that I find to harsher her beautiful face (looking more like Jessica Miss Muscles Biel), Christy looks every inch a breathtaking Chanel Girl. What do you think? (yes, let’s leave those gorgeous Chanel handbags aside!)

Short Hair is the New It Haircut for 2008?

Finally some good news – the bob is loosing ground! There’s a new IT haircut coming trough!

The short cut is making serious fans – not only Agyness Deyn remains faithful to this short hair, but fellow models Anja Rubik and Milagros Schmoll joined the short haircut wave. I’m stuck with my present hair cut for 3 years now with very little variations.

Because pregnancy is well known for causing hair loss, I was seriously thinking about a radical change in haircut. What do you think? Shall we wait until Posh sets the tone? Or that’s a “I can do it myself” kind of mission? Would you change your haircut just because it’s no longer ‘in’? Or you don’t care as long as it fits you properly?
