Lou Doillon for Lee Cooper 2008
March 6th, 2008 by kpriss
Signing in for three years collaboration with Lee Cooper, Lou Doillon joined the game for a sixty-piece collection.
She started out modestly but firmly with some personal and (let’s say) original designs that she describes inspired from Oliver Twist. Detailing her childhood memories and her present life style in an interview (with Nicola Copping) in Times, she said something absolutely amazing to keep in mind when thinking about the new breed of celeb-designers:
They said, “You don’t have to do it, we can do it for you” – but I said no, I want to learn. It’s my name written in those trousers, I want to be proud of it. I can’t let someone else do it.
That phrase instantly caught my attention so I started looking around for pieces from her Lee Cooper Collection.
I’m not very fond of the brand and I don’t look smashingly in high waist pants with belly-on-sight-t-shirts or top hats, but I appreciated her honesty and her sense of “I can do it myself”.
Were you updated on Lou Doillon designer talents with Lee Cooper’s new collection?
Christina Aguilera for Stephen Webster Ad Campaign 2008
March 5th, 2008 by kpriss
Alfred Hitchcock made quite a comeback this year. 2008 is going to be glamorous or not at all.
Rear Window and Dial M for Murder are the two main themes of the Stephen Webster jewelry line two ad-prints to appear in this number of W. It seems she was pregnant when she shot these pictures (when coming back from her tour) but that doesn’t harm in any way the quality of the photo shoot.
Maybe it’s a cliché, but I prefer this retro Christina than Xtina or whatever she was called before and during the “Dirrty” period of her life. I know someday I’ll grow tired of it, until that day, I’ll enjoy her pin up sparkling just for my eyes pleasure. So? She did a good job with this advertising campaign?

Chloë Sevigny Second Collection for Opening Ceremony
March 5th, 2008 by kpriss
Or how can you make people talk about your fashion style even when you have none!
I thought the first collaboration with Opening Ceremony was going to be the last. Sadly, it turned out there was a second wave of destruction. Chloë Sevigny has done it again. Trying to convince us of her uber existent chic and sense of fashion, she pulled out few more horror rabbits out of the closet.
Chanel Mobile Art

Chanel cruises the world. From Hong Kong to Tokyo, New York and London, Moscow and Paris, the Chanel Art Container is set to take over the fashion communities.
And what could have inspired this initiator tour but the Chanel “legendary quilted bag”? 20 international contemporary artists paid tribute to this bag (Blue Noses, Daniel Buren, David Levinthal, Fabrice Hyber, Leandro Erlich, Lee Bul, Loris Cecchini, Michael Lin, Nobuyoshi Araki, Pierre & Gilles, Sophie Calle, Soju Tao, Stephen Shore, Subodh Gupta, Sylvie Fleury, Tabaimo, Wim Delvoye, Yang Fudong, Yoko Ono, Y.Z. Kami, Soundwalk) under the thorough eye of Fabrice Bousteau, the curator of this exhibition.
Pierre Hardy Collection for Gap Summer 2008
March 5th, 2008 by kpriss
We were waiting for this. Finally it’s out – Pierre Hardy’s designs for Gap hit tit the internet community via Gap online store (and they’ll hit the actual stores Thursday).
The flats look rather usual but I’d go for those sandals anytime (especially the silver ones)! There’s a good observation that has been made around online communities – the shoes don’t bear the signature or reference “Pierre Hardy”. The Label named them “Design Edition” and launched them as such ranging from $78 to $98. Anything like you expected?

The Cutest Blue Chanel 2.55 Bag in Paris
March 5th, 2008 by kpriss
Priceless little beauty, this one! And how proud and at the same time reserved she looks!
Nothing measures up to real life. No photograph setting ever would come up with this authentic look and chicness. This picture (I believe) has made quite a journey on the internet and it’s worth every bit and byte from it! It’s by far the best looking Chanel Girl and even Karl the Kaiser Lagerfeld couldn’t have done better! Well done, girl! Go show them all what Chanel 2.55 means to you!

Keith Richards for Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign 2008 by Annie Leibovitz
March 4th, 2008 by kpriss
What’s gotten into fashion industry lately? Here’s another marketing gesture I get in the (very) wrong way:
Keith Richards models for Louis Vuitton! In case you’re not into rock’n’roll, Keith Richards is a Rolling Stones member with heavy drug history and carrying the honorable age of 64 years. Not that it would be an age matter, or chemical substance abuse, but I really don’t see the bottom line of this campaign.
Shot by Annie Leibovitz (she has an eye for legends, right?) with a heavy slogan (“Some journeys cannot be put into words. New York. 3am. Blues in C”) and noble ending (Keith Richards plans to donate the advertising fee for the Climate Project), the Louis Vuitton – Keith Richards campaign is set to shock! At least that’s the message from Antoine Arnault (Vuitton’s head of communications) : “I think when people are flipping through a magazine, this will stop them.”
I don’t want to be harsh on LV staff, but I see things “stopping” me almost every day (car accidents for instance), that doesn’t make me buy anything.. But hey, maybe I’m getting it all wrong. What do you say? Is Keith Richards good for Louis Vuitton? Is it just me, or he’s just like “freshly” pulled out of Tim Burton’s Corpse (husband) Bride? Oh! I think I get it – he was brought along for this campaign to represent the spirit of 1854 Louis Vuitton’s Maletier first ever project?

Diesel Multi Display Watches
March 4th, 2008 by kpriss
There’s some new frenzy on the internet concerning Diesel watches. I’m not usually into watches (meaning I don’t ever wear one myself – makes me think how time flies without mercy) but I wanted you to see this.
Multi-display watches. I aesthetically appreciate two display analog watches. However, I never thought I’d be looking at a five display watch one day and try to understand what it stands for.
I’ll spare you the tech – details, if you must know something, then it’s the price – the Diesel DZ9025 (the one above) costs $595 and the Diesel DZ9024 (the one presented down here) costs $550, so about $100 for each display.
Let’s say I’ll use two. Ok, maybe I’ll find something for the third display. But what should I do with two more? So here it goes for the questionnaire :
Do you like these two watches? And if so, which one comes in first? And what use for the five displays?
If not, please tell me why won’t you simply give in to this unspeakable watch temptation!
