Olivier Theyskens Photographer

I guess designers are looking for a way to escape the overcrowded world of clothes-makers ever since this celeb-frenzy.

The most talented Nina Ricci’s Olivier Theyskens is going photographer. He will create the look book for the Nina Ricci resort collection. I’m impatiently looking forward for a series of photos by Theyskens! Wouldn’t you say he’s got some serious artistic eye? I for one, loved that grey dress his talent spawned so masterfully!

Birthday Party In Louboutin Beverly Hills Store

People choose extraordinary ways to celebrate extraordinary moments. Such is the case for a football player wife Reneece whose husband Ephraim Salaam (Huston Texan offensive) arrange for her birthday in a most unusual place to do so.

The Louboutin Store from Beverly Hills received the birthday girl with French pastries, Champagne, sparkling water (oh well, leave it like that for the menu, I think it was a hot day, one needs serious water supplies, what’s best is yet to come!) aaaand a $20,000 shopping spree. Reneece wasn’t selfish at all, sharing her joy with the three girlfriends who accompanied her: after buying 14 pairs of shoes, she also bought a pair for each of her friends. Isn’t football wonderful?

Marketing Goes Incredible With Creative Bus Stops

It’s been a while since waiting the perfect moment to show you these bus stops. I was saving it for a special occasion. That didn’t really came up, for every day can be a special occasion, so here it goes for you to enjoy:

You know that a bus ride isn’t always a joy ride but oh, look at these bus stops and hold your breath! If marketing would be that creative at every step, (at least) the sights would be far more interesting! I for one prefer this kind of showing off than a billboard with no specific meaning other than commercial overload direct challenge of my already stuffed wardrobe!

Ikea Creative Bus Stop

What’s your favorite? I think I’d go with the roller coaster… (don’t miss the other five pictures following these roller coaster and Ikea first ones)

Punk And Rock Meet Pearls

I always admired the everlasting power of pearls. Elegant, flirty, serious, they’re the always trusty friend to bring along and shine no matter what.

Because of that (and because of the Devil Wears Prada the movie) I fell completely, madly, deeply in love with that Chanel pearls necklace. Being the rightful interpretation of my pearl vision, I remained faithful to it. Until this came along.

There’s something so incredibly fresh about these edgy pearls, I had to show them to you and ask you how you feel about them and which one’s your favorite. So the three samples go like this:

eBay To Pay $61,3 Million To Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton

And they did it! They sentenced eBay to a total $61,3 million to the luxury mutant Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

And not only that! They’re also ordered to stop selling Christian Dior Parfums, Kenzo Parfums, Guerlain and Givenchy Parfums or they’ll pay $79,000/day. To the users’ great satisfaction, eBay will continue to sell the brands and will appeal the decision: “In reality, it’s a matter of a wish by LVMH to protect its commercial practices excluding all competition.”

The next in line is Tiffany & Co against eBay in Manhattan, for the same trademark infringement. I wonder if they think about how dangerous this precedent can be for the internet-based commerce! Not to mention that early on, in France toujours, LVMH won against Google in a case where Google was accused of promoting Web sites selling counterfeit LVMH goods. Will France become the base-camp of the counterfeit-war?

Kanye West Collection

Besides being dressed in his “own” creations, Kanye West (yes, yes, it’s a singer, hence the new celeb turned designer) announced (Friday, in Paris) a women’s line for fall.

You know, for me it’s like a continuing disappointment. At first I liked his singing, then I learned to understand the way he constantly brags about himself but considered it was part of his celebrity thing, after I have to cope with the designer reality. And even so, the man continues to stun me! Before he launched the women’s line news, he announces that he was there (in Paris, Jardins de Bagatelle) for “Louis” (Vuitton). How’bout that? Since Kanye is a real talented designer, he also manifests incredible medium talents since Louis (Louis Vuitton) died in 1892! What’s wrong with the world? Will they all blame it on the Napster for having to invade the catwalks with their so called designs?

Is The Scarf Still In?

And I think it still is! So here’s my special find today: a numbers-scarf. Or a scarf made from numbers.

At first I thought it was cut in paper, but no, it’s actually made from micro fiber suede, laser die-cut. Agree, it doesn’t look very good (because you can’t actually see the design) on white, or any light color. But it sure provides a solid surprise when worn on dark colors. And if you have toddlers, it’s didactic too! Like it?

Everyone Wants A Piece Of eBay!

When declaring that in the last year the total value of sold items on a website was approx. $60bn, you can always expect trouble.

The site in question is eBay. The trouble in our story is LVMH, Louis Vuitton Malletier, Christian Dior Couture and four perfume subsidiaries of LVMH to be more specific. Today (Monday, June 30, 2008) is the verdict day when a Paris commercial court could order eBay a fabulous $80 millions damage payment to LVMH since they allegedly encourage trade in pirate and stolen goods and they illegally sell brand products on the site. Isn’t it frustrating to see how the game is only played by the big ones? Why wouldn’t they just ask the 84 million active users from the 39 markets worldwide? See what they have to say about this… I for one, am against this so called luxury infringement and I vote for eBay. What about you?
