The Mighty Umbuster Umbrella
July 21st, 2008 by kpriss
Being censored by the Victorian Police is one heavy punishment to endure for a poor umbrella…Ela, ela…
And still, it happens while you read these lines – the downpictured umbrella was classified class 5 weapon by the Victorian Police and to have one means you have to have a gun license too. There you go now, the next time it rains, hold out your weapons approval certificate and you’ll be safe from the police. Being practical – I wonder if it’s any good to change the handle like that. It surely provides more grip and indeed would come in handy if mugged, but other than that? It’s revolutionary or just an another gadget to file under “weird”?

Elliot Jeans. Not Your Average Fit Jeans
July 21st, 2008 by kpriss
I’m usually one of those constitutions that fits most clothes. But when it doesn’t fit, a garment looks more like a horror movie scene than anything else.
I don’t want to push it and expand the theory to all others. Maybe there are people out there who don’t care or simply bare no interest to how their clothes fit. I do. And aesthetically speaking, it’s one important thing. Fashion and trends aside, having clothes that are fit to your constitution and personality is more interesting and appealing than any trend. It’s style.
Which brings me back to the original reason I started this article. Elliot is a big name in the jeans arena. And their current collection looks a bit like this. I’m asking you (because my opinion must be clear enough since I wrote the above lines): is this in any possible way fit?
Why stubbornly promote high waisted jeans if they look so horrifying?

Pandas. Tugg Speedman Relocates
July 21st, 2008 by kpriss
Tugg Speedman. Such a great actor! Tugg Speedman. Such a great philanthropist! Tugg Speedman. Such a great man!
If only he was real! It seems there’s a heavy confusion between Ben Stiller and his character from the upcoming comedy Tropic Thunder. Mostly due to the campaign surrounding the film: there’s a website attached to the story, a parody-website made to measure Tom Cruise’s website. Of course we could all contribute to the panda wellbeing, but we can also take a minute to enjoy the two websites and dream about this Tropic Thunder thing.(I know I will!) Just think it could be the next Zoolander!

Philips And Swarovski USB Key
July 19th, 2008 by kpriss
Missed a good ol’ “let it bling over me” post? Well here’s for the bling times sake – a new gadget to make your stomach turn in the most disgraceful sparkling nightmare.
Little dolls covered in Swarovski crystals to store your data. We’re talking about a nasty creation – the usb key by Philips and Swarovski with a Nippon aftertaste. Bling till you drop or just use a plain simple USB key like mere mortals do and still manage to live on. Does this Swarovski thing make the USB more fashionable?

Naomi Campbell V54 By Mario Sorrenti
July 19th, 2008 by kpriss
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s a great photo and it almost makes me forget the Gisele cover-disaster. Viktor and Rolf collection has found a brilliant way to integrate in reality through Naomi.
If it wasn’t for the Sorrenti photographic genius, this picture would’ve been completely grey-ish and that’s it. But that sky behind, those buildings and especially Naomi’s posing (I don’t discredit the coat, by all means, it’s at least half of the picture’s value!) make it almost a novel, not an image. Can you read the story between those pixels?

Would You Laser Engrave You iPhone?
July 19th, 2008 by kpriss
By now everyone and their dog own (at least one) iPhone. And to be truly honest I want one (wink to my husband – we promised each other we’d get one each…one day… but we simply find more interesting things to do than go buy new phones right now) and who doesn’t?
Who’s not touched by the Apple Mania? Remember Macbook Air? Well.. it will be long before I’ll grow tired of this iPhone.
Then again I’ve got a confession to make – I hate it when people over personalize their computer, their phone, their car. I like it neat, simple, like it was originally made and indented to be – the means to an end, a tool.
But maybe you think differently – epilog laser engraving it’s a permanent engraving tool on the device of your choice. This time being the iPhone. Would you engrave yours?

Penelope Cruz W Magazine August 2008
July 19th, 2008 by kpriss
Not your average model or magazine celebrity. Penelope Cruz features W Magazine for the August Issue photographed by Mert and Marcus.
Classic, not too sexy not too dull, Penelope graces a cute pictorial, like an actress should. To be honest, I didn’t really appreciated Penelope Cruz. From one point further (I think it was an interview of miss Cruz where she impressed me with her sense of humor) I began to look at her under a different light.
I began to see her as a professional actress, someone who really takes things seriously when talking acting. And aside, a very normal, funny, smart woman. Well done for her! It’s impressive to see normal and celebrity put together in one.

Diane Von Furstenberg Amazing Studio Headquarters
July 19th, 2008 by kpriss
The Diane von Furstenberg headquarters from Tribeca is an amazing piece of architectural work. The most impressive thing about it is the rooftop. Join me in a mini-virtual tour:
Made in 2007 by an impressive design team counting more than 20 members, the DVF studio budgeted $28 million. For that money came a six levels structure with enough room for the 5,000 square feet showroom, design and administrative offices (for appx 120 person staff) and executive suite and a private penthouse apartment.(don’t miss the photos after the jump)
