Rodarte Ad Campaign Spring Summer 2009

Rodarte’s Ad Campaign was first seen in the latest V Magazine, the Glow issue (V58) and it’s as inside-out, ripping your heart right out of your chest as their catwalk collections.

Alexander McQueen’s socks on the face and Margiela’s anonymous models were close to nothing next to this gloved model facing the wall, exposing her dénudé back under a multicolored halo reading RODARTE. How could you possibly resist? (via)

You remember that Chanel iPhone application I told you about? That’s how I found out The Kaiser dressed up Barbie (and Ken)!

Barbie & Ken not only dressed up but also photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for Barbie’s 50th anniversary look very… Kaiser-ish! Even if Karl himself declares Barbie is a naïve touching beauty, the Colette exhibition featuring his Barbie-doings is as naïve-less as an adult magazine pictorial! Given the DKNY – Sartorialist campaign I thought there wasn’t any hope for street style photographers crossing over. Fortunately, I was wrong – Jak & Jil’s photographer, Tommy Ton, signed the spring 2009 campaign for luxury retailer Lane Crawford. Addictive, as always! (Fashionologie)

Researchers from Japan used maths and statistics to build 3D models of the female body (sadly, only Japanese women, until now) that will help producing better fitting clothes. How about that? Queen Bee is one busy Bee this month! Not only she’s the first black girl to have graced a Vogue black cover consequently (following The First Lady, Michelle Obama), but she’s also featured in the Italian Vogue.

If you were expecting Sasha Fierce for the US Vogue, you were disappointed and delighted in the same time since she’s only doing Beyoncé for that cover, and what a beautiful Bee she does! Mel B’s success with the first Ultimo campaign was so significant, she decided to throw in another ad campaign. For Spring Summer 2009 she plays it burlesque.

Hardly breathing but visibly more at ease than her first photoshoot for Ultimo, Mel B is trying to convince us that the obvious embarrassment she shows in the ad prints are nothing but pride and joy for wearing such exquisite lingerie.
