Season and season again we ask ourselves if the most coveted trends and styles will be forgotten in the blink of an eye! And the question is indeed a good one for most of the “it” fades away, getting filed under “sooo last season” once a new collection comes along.
Why can’t we hold on to trends? Why won’t we? I know I’m faithful to some lines and shapes and not because they’re in (or out for the same matter) but because they suit me. I have thought about cycling in many ways, but almost none of those implied wearing my bicycle tires! Maybe I’m just not such a biker after all…
Julien Jaborska’s new vision on recycling appeals to daring fashionistas looking for a waist thrill but also to bicycles fanatics who’ll wear anything-bike. With a daylight clear conviction that I, personally, wouldn’t wear Julien Jaborska’s – though eco ethical, still bike rubber tires at the end of the day – bike tire belts (maybe I’ll consider it if we’d ever come to wearing whatnots one day! Until then, I’d rather watch Mad Max few times over and think this is what he’d wear!) I politely ask thee: what do you think? Would you wear Julien’s $30 bike belts? Rarely have I been struck by the dubious taste of an advertising campaign like this Roberto Cavalli Spring Summer 2010 ad campaign! Too bad the natural gorgeousness of the two beautiful models: Carolyn Murphy and Isabeli Fontana had to be buried under all those fake tan layers!
The campaign sells luxurious boredom, the kind Paris Hilton or Heidi Pratt would surely be more than honored to experiment and display. I love a healthy tan, dark tan, sunkissed hair and desert isle getaways. Sure I do! I’m human! But then again I’m such a simple girl and I have simple pleasures: Hermes melted my heart with that fairy tale campaign! Comparing this to that is blasphemous to that melted heart of mine! The book comes out in April and sells for $16 (and it’s Yvan’s second book, the first – Street Chic by Face Hunter – a limited edition print came out in September 2009). Mischa Barton’s latest achievement is… drum roll: her new hairdo! Notable for other small happenings like her new car and her new (same old) addiction, Mischa Barton is trying really hard to make it to the magazines covers. Today it’s back to blonde.

Lady Gaga isn’t one to shy away from big news headlines. And she did no different for this year’s Brits edition. Wearing a white layer dress, a white ginormous Marie Antoinette-ish wig and a lace face mask, Lady Gaga was the picture of seriousness and tragic-angelic on the Red Carpet.
With a special dedication to Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga’s stage performance was nothing less of her usual outrageous shows.
