Delfina Delettrez Red Nail Polish And Silver Finger Ring
November 27th, 2010 by kpriss
Yes, yes, you read it well – it’s a silver finger ring we’ll be talking about! First, however, let me praise the fire red nail polish signed by Delfina Delettrez. Once the Christmas Season is officially unleashed, I feel the need to wear something red at all times during the Holidays season. And what better to showcase my Christmas love than a fire red manicure?
However, getting back to Delfina Delettrez Ring and Nail Polish issue. The $333 duo creeps me a bit – it’s the ring, actually who does that to me. I keep looking at that silver finger (with red nail lacquer) and can’t quite grasp the aesthetic. Can you? (available here)
Georgia May Jagger’s Rimmel Ad Banned
November 27th, 2010 by kpriss
Oh, I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen for an eternity! A mascara ad has finally been punished, banned, executed for being untruthful towards the end customer.
Starring Georgia May Jagger, the 1-2-3 Looks Mascara from Rimmel ad print was showing a three staged mascara magic performed by the new Rimmel product. However, at closer inspection, on the left lower extremity of the poster is a very small inscription reading “shot with lash inserts”. Receiving complains about the fake visuals, the Advertising Standards Authority has commanded Coty to not show the ad in its current form ever again. Hurray for normal people and normal lashes! Don’t you just feel good about your lashes? (via)
Kate Moss Gloucestershire Home
November 26th, 2010 by kpriss
This is Juergen Teller’s work you’ll be seeing below, so don’t expect more than a point and shoot – like pictorial, immersed in the too white light of the flash.
However, it’s Kate Moss at her Gloucestershire home (yes, that’s in England) and I wouldn’t miss it for the world, not even if it’s Juergen Teller who’s photographing! It’s a pictorial shot for Self Service, the December 2010 issue. I wasn’t actually expecting so much pink from Kate Moss. she’s always portrayed as a rock chick, and I hardly imagine a rocker living in a pink house. Will the real Kate Moss please stand up? (via)
Yves Saint Laurent L’Amour Fou
November 26th, 2010 by kpriss
The fashfilm is far from being something new. However, the fashfilm is most interesting and captivating in this new Big Brother-ish era where everything and anything must be shown from all angles, all perspectives, especially the backstage ones.
Yves Saint Laurent L’Amour Fou (the mad love) talks about Yves Saint Laurent and his relationship with Pierre Berge (with a side focus on the legendary auction of YSL and Berge’s exquisite art collection). The documentary is signed by Pierre Thoretton and will be officially released next year. By the looks of the teaser it’s a very interesting documentary. Would you say that this is a rather disrespectful film? Or that it honors the memory of Yves Saint Laurent? (via)
Karl Lagerfeld For Macy’s, Tom Ford For H & M
November 26th, 2010 by kpriss
In other luxury related news, it appears our beloved haute designers have decided that, regardless of the honors and the fame of haute couture design, affordable ready to wear plays it safer (and sells way better).
Karl Lagerfeld is joining the fast fashion movement once more (remember he did a line for H & M few years back), this time for Macy’s. Also, Tom Ford is preparing a collection with the Swedish textile giant for next year. Who would you rather wear? Karl or Tom? Both? (via, photos via 1, 2; photochopping courtesy Stylefrizz)

Models Own Gold Rush $130,000 Nail Polish
November 26th, 2010 by kpriss
While everyone (and their dog) is out there (or inside, where it’s warm) hunting for bargains this Black Friday, I’d like to introduce you to a very special item, very unlike what you’d expect to find / shop for today…
Models Own Gold Rush nail polish! It looks like a nail polish, it must be one, only it costs $130,000! That’s the couture version. The ready to wear, down-to-earth version only costs $7,8. What makes the couture version so special? It’s the same nail polish, only the exquisite bottle of the Gold Rush couture features a hand made yellow gold lid with 1,118 diamonds encrusted. The power of the Gold Rush is in the packaging. I was just wondering – if you actually could afford to pay $130,000 for a nail polish, wouldn’t you also afford a daily manicure being done to you instead of twisting and turning and polishing your own nails all by yourself? Just saying… (either way, regardless of your choice, the nail polish is available here from mid December)
About Behati Prinsloo
November 25th, 2010 by kpriss
Behati Prinsloo speaking about Behati Prinsloo. Sure it’s for commercial purposes, for Victoria’s Secret. However, it’s always a delight to find out a bit more from the backstages of the industry. And models talking (about themselves) is reason enough to keep watching this fun series of short videos.
I’m so curious who’ll be next after Lily and Behati! That is if there will be more to this mini-series of models videos prequels for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show! Either way, if you happen to know more videos with models talking about themselves and their adventures in the fashindustry, let’s bring’em to light! (via)
Beyonce’s Color Riche L’Oreal Lipstick Ad
November 25th, 2010 by kpriss
Have you noticed how, though with just one album and one tour, Beyonce keeps being relevant music and entertainment worthy? Have you noticed that she’s been all over the news recently? Because she has her tour DVD to promote? And also because she has that Heat perfume ad banned from daytime television in the UK?
Here’s another ad campaign with Queen Bee, this time a print ad for L’Oreal’s Color Riche lipstick. Wonderfully rich, naturally creamy, charmingly shy Beyonce, showing her provocative side. Would they ban this one too? I mean, after all.. she’s wearing red all over again, it’s a short dress… (via)
