Izabel Goulart And Alessandra Ambrosio Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2011 Ad Campaign

Could it be possible that her Madgesty’s advertorial reign has reached the long awaited end? It would appear that Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring Summer 2011 ad campaign is Madonna free!

Photographed by Steven Klein, Izabel Goulart, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maryna Linchuk, Isabeli Fontana signed on to portray the Dolce and Gabbana woman for the next Summer. Remember that gorgeous white catwalk they put on? I think they just ruined it with this black and white oily perspective. (oh, and after the jump, there’s the Dolce & Gabbana vision of what modern cave men should look like) Do you think this campaign represents the Spring Summer 2011 collection from Dolce & Gabbana? Kate Moss For Vogue Italy December 2010

Without being a cover girl and without too many drums parading her appearance in Vogue Italy December 2010, Kate Moss has marveled my aesthetics at a point I never thought she ever would. After all, there’s only one Kate Moss (until proven otherwise).

Her pictorial (lensed by Nick Knight) is way beyond Gisele’s (and that should say something since Gisele is the cover girl of the issue), striking and dramatic. Sure it’s as dubious and as controversial as it gets, but one cannot go around intimacy allusions in fashion. It comes with the “fashionable” territory. So I’m trying to get used to the new dark sensual aesthetic, which doesn’t also mean I’ll have to appreciate it too. Get me a shiny smiling pictorial over that any day! Now getting back to Kate’s Vogue Italy December – how does it strike your fashionable soul? (photos via)

Janet Jackson Barbie Doll

With the Holidays season comes the charity season as well. It’s a kind of complimentary season to any season, actually, however it’s more poignant as we’re getting ready for a happy time with our dear ones. Everyone should be able to do that.

Project Angel Food’s annual fundraising event features a special donation for the charity auction: eight original, unique signature Barbie and Ken items. Janet Jackson is one of the amazing one-of-a-kind designs. Estimated at $15,000, the Janet Jackson Barbie is currently at $1,500 with only 10 bids and 9 days to go.

Inspired by Janet’s American Idol performance, the doll’s black figure embracing doll has Swarovski crystals appliqués (and a Swarovski crystal mic to match it) plus a black catsuit underneath just like in the real performance. Mattel has done a great job with Janet, I only wish they would have had her in the mainstream production also. Oh well.. (and if you’re looking at a more friendly budget, part of the auction is also Ken’s house from Toy Story 3 – estimated at $1,000 is now at a little over $300 – see it after the jump as well as Janet’s American Idol performance) (you can place your bids here)

Nicholas Kirkwood Pollini Spring Summer 2011 Shoes Collection

There’s something special about Nicholas Kirkwood collection for Pollini. He cooked a pretty impressive menu for the Spring Summer 2011 season through the Forward Designer initiative.

Bringing together Louise Gray, Manish Arora, Meadham Kirchoff, Michael Van Der Ham and Preen feels more like celebrating fashion and design more than trying to establish trends and moods. However, the designs look great and honor Kirkwood appointment as Pollini’s creative director. I wonder if he will continue the Forward Designer project for the upcoming seasons and also if people consider he diluted his edginess by bringing other designers on board. What would you say, judging by the look of the SS11 Pollini collection with Kirckwood as creative director? (via)

Giles Deacon Happy Socks

How would you like a pair of Happy Socks? I love a pair of funny, cute, colorful socks so Happy Socks really strikes a chord for me! And hearing they teamed up with Giles Deacon doubles the happy – ness.

However, paying $110 for a box of socks may not brighten up your Christmas list. But the box actually contains 7 pairs so it makes up for the price, not to mention that they come in a box also printed with a Giles Deacon favorite; as for the sales – at least 25% from the retail price goes to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation. All you have to do is hurry up because only 1000 pairs were made! Go on! Make a socks fan happy! (available here; via)

Exquisite Nail Jewelry

Whenever I think about nails jewelry, I imagine either those teeny tiny crystals glued on the index’s nail (which will, eventually, tragically fall off leaving a disgraceful glue print in place) or that creative multitude of jewelry hanging from one of the nails through a pre-made hole (which will, eventually, tragically tear your nail).

Now this, this is a gorgeous piece of nails jewelry. I regret not having the exact name for it, or its maker (that’s the way of internet – the road to the source is cut short by ways of professionalism. Not). Anyone knows how it’s called and how it’s installed / kept in place? It really looks great, doesn’t it?

Johnny Depp’s Vanity Fair January 2011

Johnny Depp covers Vanity Fair’s January 2011 issue. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz and interviewed by Patti Smith, Johnny makes quite the pirate for the occasion.

Reading the interview fragment got me wondering which movie he was actually promoting – the Tourist or Pirates of the Caribbean. Because starting an interview with references to Angelina Jolie is a daring move both concerning the marketing direction of the interview and also the personal parts within. I won’t get too much into that since no matter the subject, Johnny always is a blessed sight and Annie Leibovitz epic lenses sure know how to bring out the story teller in him. How do you like Johnny’s new Vanity Fair appearance (par rapport at his latest, July 2009 cover and pictorial)? (if you’re interested in the interview, you can read some of it here)
