Riccardo Tisci Would Love To Dress Donatella Versace In Givenchy

The way two designers talk about each other is always interesting and kind of funny. Riccardo Tisci was interviewed by Donatella Versace for Interview Magazine. It’s a very interesting interview, truly one of those good readings we treasure in the fashion world (and, why not, beyond the fashion borders).

I’d love to bring you more fragments from the original interview (which you can find and read here), but for now I’ll just say that the big revelation was Riccardo Tisci saying loud and clear he’s not leaving Givenchy and that he feels good there (so the speculations can go further for the Dior maison, left without main designer since the Galliano controversy) and also his love declaration for Donatella Versace! Priceless:

Donatella, you are so much of a Givenchy woman! [laughs] I say it because I want the world to know. For me, aesthetically, you represent what the Italian woman is. […] I would really love to see you dressed in Givenchy.

Billie Achilleos At Work For Louis Vuitton

Remember we talked about this amazing project signed Louis Vuitton for their 100th anniversary? Billie Achilleos put together some truly surprising creatures for the brand from their very own products.

I don’t know about you, but I am a very curious girl when it comes to the backstages of fashion! So I couldn’t resist sharing this video of Billie drawing and putting together the LV Creatures! I had to play it over and over again, it’s so short! (via)

Lady Gaga, The Fashion Icon

Now that she’s officially a Fashion Ion certified by the highest fashion power in America: The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Lady Gaga seems to head to another level in her now legendary life.

Her new wig of choice is a short teal bob and her outfits are even more personalized than before! Lady Gaga is wearing her own face printed on her dress! Because Gaga is the fashion you need! And because see – through is so yesterday and your face on a dress is so hot right now!(photos via)

Burberry Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign

Yes, I’m fully aware of the season we’re barely entering! However, Burberry Prorsum is a classic, couldn’t look away and let this beautiful campaign slip through my fingers!

Mario Testino photographed Burberry’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign. The young, hip faces are Molly Smith and Amber Anderson on the left and, on the right, Felicity Jones and Thomas Penfound. Burberry is again targeting the new, hip Brit generation with amazing clothes! The campaign is gorgeously styled and impeccably modeled and photographed, wouldn’t you agree? It’s the perfect snobbish attitude they want their customers to have! (via)

Karl Lagerfeld Black And White Glasses For Orrefors

Because der Kaiser is keen on making us see the world in black and white, he now extended his “life without color” aesthetic and reached the home – related goods. Table – related, to be more specific: Orrefors of Sweden by Karl Lagerfeld will be available in stores from September 1.

Besides from the KL monogrammed Black and White glasses (“free standing geometrical cloud” like Karl described the white ones in a short video – you can watch it right after the jump!), you will notice each glass from the collection comes with an “under-glass”. I don’t expect it to come cheap, so count maybe $100 for (one) glass from the Karl Lagerfeld for Orrefors collection.

Elle Canada July 2011 Herieth Paul And The Move Over Dilemma

Let’s focus on the cover, first! It’s one of the rare, beautiful sights of a black model on a magazine cover! Yay for that! Elle Canada’s July 2011 issue puts gorgeous Herieth Paul to fight a battle that is not legit or moral. Models are not supposed to fight each other, nor are they censed to retire just because a younger face joins their agency (or another) (see the cover tagline, at left).

Herieth Paul as photographed by John van der Schilden is perfect as she is, they needed not retouch her beyond (armpit) recognition. And my, oh my, does that “Move over Naomi” tagline sounds wrong? In so many ways, I barely scratched the surface with the above (not to mention the already famous Cadbury case…) What’s your take on the matter? (via)

Jennifer Lopez Ads For Tous Jewerly Spring 2011 By Ellen Von Unwerth

Given there’s hardly anything else other than promotional material coming from Jennifer Lopez – other than music (and movies, why not? She and Madonna, I think, are the two celebrity cum musicians who should stay away from cinematography. Unless they want to sink the film industry at all costs), let’s enjoy a fine piece of photography with the over make-uped JLo!

Occasioned by the Spring Summer 2011 Tous Jewelry Campaign, the amazing imagery was captured by the magical Ellen von Unwerth. Whimsical and adorable, click through for more images from the campaign (or click here for the gallery!) (Tous via)
