Adele Someone Like You And More

So I said we should do Adele one day? Why wait? Let’s do it today! I skipped last week’s Friday Break either way, so I’m faulty! Plus we talked about her, I think we can all agree that if there would be more people like Adele in the entertainment business, the world would be a better place altogether!

Like I said, I was listening to some songs from Adele’s second album, 21 (yes, that’s the album’s title) and felt it was truly beautiful and remarkably grownup and matured (as a style). From what I’ve listened to so far, I pick Someone Like You for today!

Why I went for that one and not Rolling in the Deep, the most powerful and acclaimed single from 21 so far? Because it’s about love, it’s based on actual events and Adele herself said that she doesn’t believe she’ll write a better song than that one, that Someone like Youmight be my song”. Plus, it’s the first song she wrote for this album. Now let’s get the Adele – facts straight:

She’s a (very) successful British born songstress who just released her second album, 21. Her first album, 19, was released in 2008 and included one of the most popular songs of that year – Chasing Pavements. Her songs have likened her to The Beatles in top charts longevivity and positioning. I wholeheartedly wish Adele only the best in the forthcoming years and since she seems like such a strong headed, determined young lady, I bet that this is just the beginning for her!

Can you actually believe that 21 was inspired (and heavily infused with) country music? Selfdescribed as “heartbroken soul”, Adele’s style has definitely conquered the US as her 21 promotional album tour is already fully booked! So if you’re one of the lucky attendees to one of Adele’s concerts, please step forward and share your experience! Until then, I’ll leave you with? Chasing pavements, of course! Enjoy!

I was BLESSED to see her show 5 years ago in London when she was a famous nobody. Most of the audience was crying at some point of the”concert”(perhaps less than 100 people?). it was love at first sight and I thought she would never make it(reach success), given the actual panorama of the music industry. I am glad I was wrong.
She is/has an old soul.It amazes me that a 21 yo girl can express herself in such a way.I love her to the most.
Thanks for posting it.

wow! I heard she already announced her third album? (I wonder though, if Amy wouldn’t had left the scene, would there still have been place for Adele? not that I was actually comparing the two, but Amy was good at preparing people for Adele’s amazing voice and music.)

Oh, more fans here. I saw her of late in concert in Amsterdam. It was a great intimate concert. Her audience is great too. It was just her, that voice and a band. The atmosphere was so good and Adele moved me often with that voice, her shyness at moments and also her sense of humour. I adore Adele and own both albums. Anouk and Adele? Two women I love to listen too. At the moment every day. On and off the ‘A’ girls. They rule!!
Here in the Netherlands that concert is considered yet legendary because if she comes back the venue will be bigger. I believe her music is far more suitable for intimate venues.

mdinah; awesome story. Wow! :)

Let’s do this? You say whatever song / artist you like and we bring it online, then talk about it? What you know, what you experienced in relation to that song / artist? It’s been about my musical preferences so far, let it be your “break” too, not just mine! Deal?

LOL! I believe I done that a few times right? And I am always a bit scared after I clicked on submit I did it. ;)

Adele’s voice is beautiful in ‘someone like you’. It’s honestly beautiful in all of her songs. In ‘someone like you’, she makes me realizes the ugly in the world associated with love. But then that makes me appreciate the beauty in love. I’d love to one day see her in concert.
