Sasha Pivovarova’s Vogue Paris October 2011

Oh, this is beautiful (or it could’ve been so beautiful, depends on how high you set your Vogue Paris expectations… Post Roitfeld, I mean)! Sasha Pivovarova’s Vogue Paris October 2011 cover is gorgeous. Because it involves Sasha. And Mert and Marcus.

I admit I was a bit confused about the blonde-ish spirit of VP, pretty much in Vogue US’ spirit this month and I’m still hoping the inside pictorial will prove there’s still hope for Emmanuelle Alt’s Vogue. Is there? How do you like this October cover? Is it just as cliché as I felt it? (photo via)

i-D Carine Roitfeld This Fall 2011!

This is pretty special. And pretty boring at the same time. Which is amazing, given that it involves two of the most controversial fashion people of the moment: Carine Roitfeld, ex – Vogue Paris, currently freelancing anything and everything fashion and Terry Richardson. Who … well, you know who!

So Carine Roitfeld covers the Fall 2011 issue of i – D Magazine. The cover tagline says Dream Big. And I do. I really do, because this cover is really dull and not helping my fashion inspiration today. Does it help yours? (photo via)

Rachel Weisz Loves Jason Wu’s Spring Summer 2012 Dresses

Better sooner than later, huh, Rachel? Here’s the lovely Rachel Weisz showing her appreciation for Jason Wu’s Spring Summer 2012 Collection by wearing one of the dresses that just paraded the New York Fashion Week Catwalk.

The dress is called Photo Negative and Rachel was wearing it on the Red Carpet of the (still ongoing) Toronto International Film Festival. She also matched the dress with one of the clutches from the same SS 12 collection: a soft pink Kate clutch. She looks gorgeous, as usual, and most of all, I’m loving her attitude in this picture. It suits the dress perfectly, wouldn’t you say?

There Goes My Levi’s® Curve ID!

You know I often wondered if those fit – to – shape jeans really work or if they’re just a marketing clever scheme. Well it would appear that I need no longer wondering and asking around!

Levi’s® got to me (wink). I took it lightly and, in almost complete disbelief clicked my way to finding my Curve ID. It was easier than I expected – few key questions regarding my body type and shape and then bam! My Curve ID was ready! Levi’s® said I was a Slight Curve. Mkaaaaay… (click through to read the rest of the story and check out the images)

Michael Kors Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Michael Kors Spring Summer 2012 Collection comes in a very blessed moment when I was completely stuck in the repetitive summer catwalk shown by the designers who previously paraded the runway.

I loved the army looks, the nonchalant flat gladiator sandals, the flowy shapes and the abundance of wide leather accessories. I especially liked the leather fanny pack – and the simple, minimal hair and makeup. Simply summery. Michael Kors’ ss 2012 is a keeper! (click through for more looks; the entire collection here)

Zac Posen Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Feminine and old school glamour. That’s Zac Posen’s Spring Summer 2011 collection. And I’m loving it! It’s clearly not wearable and way more couture than your average prêt-a porter range and still – can you not love Zac Posen’s display of sartorial elegance on the New York catwalk?

Coco Rocha’s insouciant charm was spot on as she opened and closed the Zac Posen defilé and my favorite was the peachy satiné gown worn by Lindsey Wixson. How about yours? (click through for more images; the entire collection here

Gwen Stefani’s LAMB Spring Summer 2012 Collection

I sometimes can’t believe that I’m actually taking into consideration Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. collection for the New York Fashion Week. Never mind me – I still think it’s a bit too much to look at Gwen Stefani’s label as we do at Prabal Gurung (just to pick an example). They’re presented in the same venue, after all, so why shouldn’t we place them in the same category? Then again… why should we?

Because they’re wearable. Because LAMB targets the average fashion consumer who wouldn’t mind dressing in H & M on the Red Carpet, but doesn’t do H&M because it’s too cheap. So they go for a more expensive brand, with all the same popular designs. There’s hardly something exclusive and trademark-ish in Gwen Stefani’s LAMB line. Or am I missing something here? Diane Von Furstenberg Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Diane Von Furstenberg has a thing for lady like fashion. There’s hardly any other place where you can find this retro – ish, flowery, tender approach of summer’s fashion.

It makes me want to wear 60s cut dresses, colorful narrow eyewear and matronly updos. It makes me strongly believe in the just – below – the – knee dresses, ankle strapped kitten heels sandals and simple cuts. Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring Summer 2012, although heavily bent under the mighty trends, it’s a collection you’d want in your wardrobe! Don’t you just love that Mad Men look?
