I just realized that in the craziness that was this Friday (it went out smoothly, thank you so much for your sweet words!) I completely forgot to bring you our beloved Friday Break!
Since it was about the kids, I wanted to share something they’re all simply dying to hear and dance! Michael Jackson They Don’t Care About Us! They have great taste, huh? Really, not that we listened to it 24/7 in our house (although you know we really loved MJ), but something in that piece’s rhythm has them all hooked up, dancing in the backyard, dancing in the store, whenever or wherever they hear the tune! And I hope it’ll prove just as catchy for you too!
What Is Your Beauty?

You may remember I talked about beauty and what it meant to me a while back. I’m getting there again. Because I think it’s important for each and every one of us to feel good. To feel beautiful. To Be beautiful! To let everyone know who you are and how you feel about beauty! (yes, this time I’m not asking what do you think beauty is, but what do you think Your beauty is!)
Whether you were brought up this way, or ended up by your own at this point, I’d love to hear your side of the story. When and how did you realize what beautifies you? Prada Spring Summer 2012 Collection

This is the collection of the season! Not only does it faithfully approach the trends, but it also ads a spin and a twist like no other! You know that Prada Spring Summer 2012 is the shape of all fashion summer 2012 things to come!
I loved the clothes. I loved the prints. I loved the combinations. I would not wear them all, but at least they’re far from being dull and catwalking trends. Miuccia Prada is a Designer with a capital D. And you’ll see here designs allover the place. From the sweet joyful flowers to the knee long pleated (sheer) skirts, it all falls back to the elegant and oh-so-sexy fifties. The way I see it is that if Marilyn had to star in a Bseries movie with loads of cars and speeding engines, she might have worn Miuccia Prada’s Spring Summer 2012 designs. Here’s Marisa Miller Working On RIPD!

I guess you can call that a spoiler. Or a first image with Marisa as an actor. Either way you’ll spill it out, the facts are: Marisa Miller was photographed on the set of the R.I.P.D. movie and she was looking as hot as usual. Victoria’s Secret angel hot!
There’s no telling what she’s wearing there, what’s certain is that her scene involves a cemetery and Ryan Reynolds. Hopefully we’ll see her more than a few seconds on film! Do you think models have a real shot at acting? Or that they’re part of the casting because they look so darn good?
MaxMara Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Now that’s how you follow the trends! Or at least some of the trends – color blocks, bright shades of turquoise and layering.
MaxMara Spring Summer 2012 was impressive as long as you took home not only the clothes but also the model who worn them on the catwalk! I loved the way they matched the looks and the girls! It made out for the poor, uninspired, dull design! Also – if you take those clothes and put them on normal people, they’d be really, really unfitting and unflattering. My opinion. Yours? Fendi Spring Summer 2012 Collection

It’s amazing how these Fashion Weeks shows keep pouring in! It’s like only yesterday New York Fashion Week started and now we’re already halfway through the Fashion Week season, with London FW wrapped up and Milan Fashion Week at its second day! My head is spinning!
Fendi Spring Summer 2012 was different. Different from what I’ve seen so far in the NYFW or the audacious designs from LFW. The structured shapes, the multitude of see through looks, it’s all so European and so Lagerfeld, wouldn’t you say? There’s also a bag in the shape of a book (see it after the jump, in Anja’s hand) and those stripey designs are absolutely fabulous! (click through for more images, the entire collection here)
Lara Stone Covers Vogue Japan November 2011

And again Vogue Japan is (way) ahead of the time: their November 2011 issue has surfaced. Well, at least its cover did!
Lara Stone is slowly getting her cover space back and although I truly believed it was Abbey Lee Kershaw there for a second (doesn’t she look like Abbey? I’m so used to seeing Lara with bleached eyebrows, once she’s a naturel, I don’t recognize her anymore), the fashion connaisseurs say it’s Lara Stone and that she’s wearing Givenchy. (too much yellow for my taste, but it does make the magazine more noticeable, doesn’t it?)
Who Designed Ryan Gosling’s Scorpio White Jacket From Drive?

I told you we caught a late night movie a week or so ago. And you know I can’t hold back long and I end up sharing the goodies. So, I don’t know what you’ve heard about “Drive”, you know I don’t read reviews and don’t watch trailers prior to watching the actual movie (so we actually knew nothing about the movie when we went out to see it).
However, what I’m trying to say here is that Drive is really a special, special movie! If you like romcoms, stay away. If you like Tarantino’s so called Bseries movies (think Death Proof) then know that this is how they’re supposed to look and feel like. Enough about the movie. Let’s get back to why I started all this in the first place: Ryan Gosling’s Scorpio jacket from the movie Drive was designed by… Erin Benach. Who is Erin Benach? The costume designer for the Drive movie. And the Blue Valentine movie. And more. Check out the details after the jump!
