Feist 1234 Mushaboom
October 17th, 2011 by kpriss
Let’s start a new week gently, madly, passionately! Feist is one of my favorite artists out there and although I’m mostly about listening to music and less about watching the videos, I think we should all take a moment and watch Feist’s following two videos!
It’s hard to get back into the week’s rhythm after a wonderful, peaceful weekend, so let’s take it slowly. Let’s enjoy every moment. Like we always do! Starting with 1234 and, after the jump, Mushaboom!
Zachary Quinto Is Gay. Congrats For His Coming Out!
October 17th, 2011 by kpriss
I think even after reading the title alone, you’re all going “wha?” on me – well.. It has to be said!
After months, years of speculations, Zachary Quinto has finally admitted that he is gay! If you’re not hearing teenage girls all over the world crying in their pillows by now, then you’re most certainly not familiar with Heroes or the last Star Trek! However, congratulations are in order, for it really takes a lot of courage to finally come out, especially as a public person (check out his “it gets better” video after the jump)! Zachary Quinto is gay! And his coming out is most certainly not random and meaningless – in his words:
“….it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it – is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality.”
Rooney Mara’s Vogue US November 2011
October 17th, 2011 by kpriss
Or should I say… the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s Vogue November 2011? Because that’s what it’s all about. About Rooney Mara being the girl with the most wanted part of them all. Playing the character of Lisbeth Salander from the first adult franchise Millenium Series, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. (by franchise, don’t get all Star Wars on me, saying that SW was really adult – think un-like Twilight and Harry Potter. These are the references to keep in mind)
I wish I could tell you more about this movie, unfortunately, you know I’m not a spoiler girl, and if I’d let you in more about Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Series, you’ll know what to expect. So, if you’re not already familiar with the books and / or the Swedish movie, nothing will be different after reading this! (however, if you’re curious to know more, stick with me until the end) Let’s concentrate on Rooney Mara as photographed by Mert and Marcus for Vogue’s cover!
Zoe Saldana Loves Jason Wu’s Dress
October 14th, 2011 by kpriss
One of my favorite leading ladies out there right now, Zoe Saldana, made a style statement with a Jason Wu dress at a recent Polo event.
Perfectly summery and absolutely suited for a celebration, Jason Wu’s petals dress from the Spring Summer 2012 collection seems to be a stars favorite already. I guess we’ll be seeing a lot of this sweet design on the Red Carpet. As edgy and as aggressive daring fashion people may be, I’ll always prefer a good dose of girly sweetness over all that pretentiousness! In a word – Zoe Saldana is pretty much one of my style sheroes (like our dear, dear friend, Ellington sais all the time)! Who’s your style (s)hero of the moment?

Kate Winslet’s Harper’s Bazaar Confirms The Bob Hair Style Trend
October 14th, 2011 by kpriss
Just a quick reminder to all of you out there still not knowing what hairstyle is most fashionable this season: Kate Winslet did a Harper’s Bazaar feature this November 2011.
Her photographs, well seasoned with the first interview in which Kate Winslet talks about her divorce, show not only a gorgeous looking Kate Winslet but also a revealing detail about the new hair trend. The bob cut, may daaahlings, as our friend, Riana said, made another appearance in Harper’s Bazaar, on Kate Winslet. How do you like it? (still not convinced it’s bob – happening?)

Vivienne Westwood’s Anniversary Chivas Regal
October 14th, 2011 by kpriss
Every now and then, a new designer collaboration is charming my eyes and warming my fashion loving heart. Vivienne Westwood took upon a very special challenge: to dress up the Chivas Regal bottle for its 210th anniversary, designing the festive attire of the Chivas Regal’s 18thyo label.
Dame Viv’s limited edition Chivas couture coats will only dress a limited number of bottles which is as sad as it is good news – I would’ve loved to get my hands on one of those charming Vivienne Westwood Chivas bottles! The Union Jack print is one of the most associated with Vivienne Westwood’s designs, not to mention that the bottle, dressed up like that, looks too pretty to dress down. Chivas, however, is not at its first couture collaboration, being previously tied to Christian Lacroix in 2009 and Alexander McQueen in 2008.
Miranda Kerr’s $2,5 Million Diamonds Fantasy Bra For Victoria Secret
October 14th, 2011 by kpriss
This year, it’s Miranda Kerr who will be the wearer of the Fantasy Bra in Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show. And it really deserves its name!
The soft blue bra is adorned with no less than 3,400 precious little stones of all kinds. The 18-karats white and yellow gold structure is paved with white and yellow diamonds, citrines and aquamarines, pearls and two white diamonds and two yellow diamonds in the center piece. The jewelry, for it is no longer a lingerie piece but jewelry item, was handcraftedby Long Island’s London Jewelers and it totals a mind blowing $2,5Million.
Truly a unique moment for any model, especially in a lingerie show where everyone is wearing as little fabric as possible! You show them, Miranda!
Iselin Steiro’s Emporio Armani Fall Winter 2011 2012 Ad Campaign Video
October 13th, 2011 by kpriss
Talking about movies, and not just any movies, but good ones, this little fashion video popped in my mind. Because you just can’t have a decent fashion video moment anymore (I’m sure the Fashion Film Festival is a unique moment, be it in Paris or in the US, a suspended moment in time where fashion people get their unique dark trip on and zombie – around. The Walking Fashiondead).
Emporio Armani’s Fall Winter 2011 2012 ad campaign video was shot by Mario Sorrenti and Emanuele del Fabbro (Armani’s creative director) with Iselin Steiro and Simon Nessman. Don’t expect too many clothes, but a dark, subterranean look inspired by Blade Runner and The Hunger. I’m just thinking – what is actually the purpose of a fashion ad campaign if not showing the fashion? Sure, it looks inspiring and feels great -in a Walking Fashiondead kind of way, but this ad is… more like a movie trailer than an ad campaign video. Is it not?
