Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show: Doutzen Kroes

Are you ready? The first pictures have surfaced and the girls look.. well, you know, like angels? Like Victoria’s Secret Angels!

Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show had me seeing good, bad and ugly. I’ll start with the good. The best, actually: Doutzen Kroes! There’s no telling if the year she took for the birth of her son was solely responsible for Doutzen’s radiance, what’s certain is that the girl was shiny, exploding with beauty and happiness! It was written allover her face! Her body is perfect for VS, she’s a real woman, not a waif looking teen walking the glittery lingerie runway for the first time (yes, I think Karlie isn’t really suited for Victoria’s Secret.. and you’ll see just why later on, when I’ll get to her! No offense, I really like Karly as a model, only she’s not exactly what comes to my mind when I say lingerie model!) Hit the jump for more Doutzen awesomeness!

Great Dreamy Photography By Jan Von Holleben

It’s Hump Day, sweethearts! How are you holding up? We’re halfway through already! Can you believe two days from this week are already up in smoke? Talking about “up”: for your enjoyment, the Dreams of Flying series by Jan von Holleben!

I first got to meet this photo concept with the already worldwide renowned Dreams of Mila settings. That sweet baby girl went everywhere in her sleep, all orchestrated by her crafty, talented mama! Now something tells me this was one of the inspiration sources of Mila’s Daydreams as Jan von Holleben developed his series from 2002 until 2008. I selected only a few images I hope you’ll enjoy! Have a very Happy Hump Day my darlings (and don’t forget to check out the gallery here and check out the photographer’s website here)!

Cheryl Cole’s InStyle UK December 2011. Who Wants A Sad Cover For December?

I know Cheryl Cole is big in your hearts and that is specifically why I’m writing about it: Cheryl Cole is on the cover of InStyle magazine, the UK Edition of the December 2011 issue.

Now I may be looking a things from a superficial perspective, after all, I am judging a book by its cover – but who wants a sad face on a December magazine? And no, don’t try to say she’s piercing and that she has a deep expression – Cheryl Cole would really use a smile on the cover of InStyle! It is her first interview since stepping down from the XFactor (or being fired, as some say it), but it’s no reason to get all sad in a fashion magazine, is it?

New Marilyn Monroe Pictures Have Surfaced. Top That, Lindsay Lohan!

Every now and then, new and never before released photos of Marilyn somehow surface and make their way to the media. Printed or pixel born, the new images of the blond haired diva keep turning round and round till everyone gets a good look at her once again.

As if all those reenactments of her in various photo shoots for more magazines that I care to remember weren’t enough, Marilyn Monroe keeps haunting the media people. Her beauty seem to perform this magnetic ritual, the world keeping on being perplexed and numbed by her inhuman perfection. Was she, really? Perfect?

Joan Smalls Is Warming Up i-D’s Winter 2011 Cover. Benjamin Eidem Too

The nice i-D people said that there will be no less than six covers for their spectacular i-D Winter Warm Up Issue no 316. We’ve already seen and fell under the charms of Jourdan’s Sade-ish cover, Saskia’s deep 80s cover, Anja’s upside down cover and Hailey’s sweet funny cover.

It’s time for the grand finale: the amazingly beautiful Joan Smalls, one of my favorite models (with curly hair! Yaaaay! Natural curly hair on a magazine cover!) and Benjamin Eidem, Miuccia Prada’s favorite man face of the moment (although his pose reminds me of something Galliano or Gaultier would do). I don’t know about you, but me, really, I’d definitely see all those six covers framed nicely on a wall as pure art. That’s how high I think of them! Which one is your favorite? (I’m somewhere between Anja and Joan… and Jourdan)

Puma Tracksuit With An Animal Twist. Beams And Puma Collection

As much as any fashionista would like to ban the tracksuit, thankfully, this blessed comfy wardrobe staple still goes strong! What? You want to wear stilettos and treggings as loungewear? Fine! Do as you will, but the day will come when you’ll appreciate the softness and the liberty of a tracksuit!

And what better to give you that soft lounge-y feeling if not velour? I’ve been up and down the Juicy tracksuit alley for so many years, I felt the need to spice up. And Puma’s Beams collection does just that! Black velour with bold stripes of leopard print on the sides! You can match all that with a neck warmer, also spiced up with animal print velour. What do you favor as loungewear?

Anja Rubik Covers i – D Winter 2011. So Does Hailey Clauson

What was I saying earlier? Ah, yes – if we should follow that ombré hair thing? Forget all that! Take a look at Anja Rubik’s hair on the cover of i – D the Winter Warm Up issue no 316! It’s electric, baby!

Not in a “in your face” kind way but a more subtle approach, purpliciously beautiful! Sure, I don’t really understand the upside down pose, but I imagine David Bailey had something in mind when he had Anja styled by Charlotte Stockdale for this i – D issue.

Also, after the jump, check out Hailey Clauson posing as the ingénue All American girl for Matt Jones. Loving it. For a teen mag. (two more covers to follow!)

Lovely Elle Fanning By Bad Uncle Terry

You know I was feeling pretty alarmed and really saddened by the fact that Dakota Fanning had been photographed by everyone’s bad uncle Terry Richardson? Well, it would appear that she wasn’t there all by herself!

Lil’ sis Elle Fanning joined the happy parade by posing for the infamous … scratch that! for the worryingly talented photographer who is wanted by everyone and who wants everyone (and their respective dogs), Mr Terry Richardson! I love Elle as I do her sister, Dakota and I think they’re really talented. I wish they didn’t have to pose for people like Mr Richardson. All in all, I wish people like him would just not be.
