Wanting Foldable Rain Boots Foldology From Redfoot
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
Getting ready for spring means (among other wonderful, sunny, flowery things) getting ready for mud! Prepping the garden for the arrival of warm days requires serious rubber footwear. But working out in the intimacy of your backyard doesn’t mean you have to skip being stylish and fashionable too! Check out these folding rain boots below!
Folding Wellies, yes! Unbelievable, you say? Not just for the garden mud, you say? And you’re absolutely right! These great folding rainboots are amazing for the city walks too! The inside soft fleece linen doesn’t require extra socks and they fit into a cute, super useful pouch you can slip into your tote and get on your way, safe from unpleasantly surprising showers (which can totally ruin your Louboutins, duh!). I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty willing to forget about Hunter and try the new $99 Folding rain boots from Redfoot!
Tilda Swinton Makes First Row BFF With Franca Sozzani
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
She may not have graced the Oscars, but Tilda Swinton didn’t miss Paris Fashion Week as well! She was in the first row at the Lanvin Fall 2012 fashion show (Tilda has worn Lanvin numerous times, so her being there isn’t really a surprise). Seated next to her was the wonderful fashion pioneer Franca Sozzani. Is the picture below any indication of Vogue Italy’s next cover girl?
Nomad Style: Hermes Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
It’s like Hermes is trying to pin point its fashion identity. Without much success, though. Or, if we look at it the other way – Hermes is perfect for those who are all over the fashion map. A day in the desert Russian steps, a day in the hot Moroccan sun, a misty night passing some long forgotten mountains.
Hermes is for style adventurers. For those who love the stability of fashion’s instability. For the fashion pretended bohemians with uncaged hearts. A bit too many suits for that much travelling, though… (and I especially loved how style dot com considered the strongest look of the collection to be a suit! Fashion workoholics!)
Wearing Glasses? Try The Hippie Fashionable Glasses!
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
As two of our kids wear corrective eye glasses, we’ve been pretty much in and out of the opticians’ office once or twice every year (multiplied by 2, that’s 4 visits/ year and two pairs of eyeglasses/corrective lenses for each of the kids) just so they can enjoy something I take for granted – accurate sight. And I wouldn’t make such a big deal of that if it weren’t for the liquid prescription lenses! Have you heard of those?
They’re totally adaptable, you can adjust the lenses to your convenience, in your own home! And it’s affordable too – it’s $19 for the moment, for a pair of these adjustable wonders. So these spectacles below are an interesting alternative to the classic ones. And I really love a good, funny frame! Especially since I’m always looking for cute frames for kids and everybody seems in such a hurry to grow up and wear either the no – frames kind or sleek metal frames. Where are those thick, colored frames I used to see everywhere when I was little?
Comfy Cobalt Fall: Stella McCartney Fall Winter 2012 2013 Collection
March 5th, 2012 by kpriss
With Natalia Vodianova opening and closing the show, Stella McCartney Fall Winter 2012 2013 was either a blue twist of this fall’s drama situation, or totally inspired by Natalia’s blue eyes. The mix of cobalt blue, fuchsia pink and strong black and white was straightforward and bold, there was no room for in – betweens.
Loose shapes, sartorially amplified curves and comfy sportswear lost in elegant translation, there was much to love in Stella McCartney’s fall 2012 collection. I absolutely loved the wide leg straight pants and the tweed jackets! (images from the entire collection here)
AnOther Jessica Chastain
March 3rd, 2012 by kpriss
I came to love Jessica Chastain for her theatrical versatility and for her normality. Every time I see her on the Red Carpet she seems like such a nice, normal person! And now she’s a star! How long will she hold on to her natural ways? Until that question is answered, I’d like you to take a look at AnOther Jessica Chastain!
AnOther Magazine’s Spring Summer 2012 cover shows a white faced Jessica, laughing her face off. She’s oddly similar with Florence Welch, but that could be just me… Anyway, Willy Vanderperre did a nice job photographing Jessica for the exquisite fashion magazine, there’s another picture right after the jump, the Diva – attitude, bored and perpetually waiting for something to wake her interest. Like I said, AnOther Jessica Chastain. (now on a more personal note – we tried to watch The Tree of Life and we stopped because it was so sad. So unbearably sad – anyone seen it? Does it get lighter? Brighter?)

I’m Loving Robin Wright’s Amica March 2012
March 3rd, 2012 by kpriss
She’s such a beautiful woman! And such a good actress too! Robin Wright is on the cover of Amica March 2012 looking ageless. Flawless. Why isn’t she doing more fashion?
Anyway, this session was photographed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold and styled by Sarah Gore Reeves. When I grow up, I think I want to look like Robin (hit the jump to see my favorite image)! Did you know she’s turning 46 this year? And that she has two boys (aged 20 and 18)? Wow! That really sends all kinds of (good, strong) messages! (don’t know about the hair, though…)

Tutus And OPI: Ballet Inspired Nail Polish
March 3rd, 2012 by kpriss
More than one year after we’ve witnessed the Black Swan sweeping pretty much every award in the most prestigious ceremonies, the Ballet effect lingers on. OPI releases a new addition to the SoftShade nail polish collection inspired by the New York City Ballet.
With natural pinks, delicate hues of lilac and dazzling sparkles, OPI is, once again, putting the trends at our fingernails. And who could resist a nail polish named like this: “Don’t touch my Tutu“? I couldn’t! Forget Chanel’s Blue Sky thing, I’m all speed towards the new OPI Ballet! (minor detour via the tutu shop – wink)
