Elizabeth Olsen Photographed By Ellen Von Unwerth For Vs Magazine
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
It’s a match made in heaven, believe me! Elizabeth Olsen, the “other” Olsen sister like everyone’s calling her, has made a fashion spread with Vs. Magazine. Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth, the pictorial is unexpectedly beautiful and charming overall.
Pretty much like Lizzie herself. If the Olsens (the parents) have a secret recipe for making such talented kids, they’d better go public with it! I’ve rarely seen such gifted DNA! It’s like they were all three born in the spotlight! The camera loves them, the world loves them too.
The Olsen sisters have that je – ne – sais – quoi that makes them popular malgre their nature. (Elizabeth admitted in the Vs. interview that she was never the pretty face “I was the kid that never smiled in photographs, I would make stupid faces and ruin pictures.”) do consider checking out the gallery here – Ellen von Unwerth‘s work is always remarkable!
Nellie McKay The Very Thought Of You
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
The return of the Friday Break! I told you that Inspiration is a tricky master – I took a break in making the “break” every week because it stopped talking to me. I simply wasn’t into music. As silly as it may sound.
The kids were all down with this nasty flu virus, it kept coming and going, like it wouldn’t let go of them! Anyway, now they’re all fine, all four of them, and so are we. I think. Although I’m typing this with sore throat and a hot cup of tea in front of me. (we’re still recovering so I’ll keep this break – reloaded short.) It’s Nellie McKay’s The Very Thought Of You, a rendition of a dear song interpreted by Doris Day.
Have You Seen Sienna Miller’s Vogue UK Pictures?
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
You know I was b!tching and moaning about Vogue UK’s April 2012 cover story and associated pictorial with Sienna Miller? You’re kind on me if you’re saying you don’t! But here’s what I found: I found the inside pictures of that said cover – story. Not that they were a secret or anything, I just took the time to take a second look.
And I’m glad I did! I was actually, genuinely surprised by the looks of it! Plus I imagine it took some serious efforts to get those birds into the camera’s array of action, if only for few seconds, and then choose a significant image to print. I know that just by looking at it, although visually nice and warm and unexpected, you’d get the impression that the pictorial was born by itself. Like self – inspired. There is no such thing. Basic Tops, My Favorite Tops
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
We’ve talked about this kind of simple clothing architecture before when I praised the T by Alexander Wang t-shirt dress. I’m at it again – from my Inbox straight on here, sharing with you some of my favorite basic tops. Madewell sells these dreamy simple Indigo Ink tees, with prices ranging from $38 to $68. Style doesn’t come cheap, huh?
Hanne Gaby Odiele’s Favorite Comfy Shoes: Birkenstock!
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
Don’t you just love to find out some of our favorite model’s secrets? They’re practically spending half their life among fashion people, they must have picked up some good fashion secrets!
Hanne Gaby Odiele’s favorite hair product is Kerastase Fibre Architects (she said it protects her hair from damages and split ends). Her favorite trick to hide sleepless nights is white eyeliner in the corner of her eyes. And her favorite comfortable shoes, after walking catwalk miles in sky scraping high heels? Birkenstock sandals! Yaaay for Birkenstocks! (Hanne Gaby Odiele shared her secrets with Lucky March 2012)
Karl Lagerfeld’s Karl Dot Com. We Can’t Get Enough Of Karl
March 19th, 2012 by kpriss
Though they say it was mainly created for his new Karl collection, the new Karl.com website is so much more! Besides the usual Shop and Kollections (notice the K), there’s a fascinating category: “World of Karl”. There’s a charming subsection to that, called “Karl Says”: “The best things I’ve done in my life, I saw them in my sleep, this is why I have a sketch book in my bed.”. Silly me, I have my Adored Husband in my bed!
Daphne Groeneveld’s Vogue Russia April 2012 By Hedi Slimane
March 16th, 2012 by kpriss
I think I’m hunting Hedi Slimane’s photo – projects more than before since that YSL announcement. After all, he’s really talented and his amazing ability to go from designing clothes to equally inspiring photography work is fascinating. Daphne Groeneveld’s Vogue Russia April 2012 stands proof of that photo – perfection!
And, if I’m not mistaken, Vogue Russia is the new Vogue Paris! At least with Vogue Paris’ Doutzen cover (no offense, Doutzen, you know I love you to pieces), there’s really no doubt, Vogue Russia leads the Style Bible pack! Doesn’t it? (if you’re having doubts, click through to see some images from the inside pictorial – Hedi really tries hard to pull some fashion out of Daphne!)
Get The Casual Look With Leather Fringed Skirt
March 16th, 2012 by kpriss
Remember I was literally drooling allover that Zara fringed skirt not long ago? For party outings? Today I just found out that the fringed skirt can very well be part of a casual look too.
With a little help from Taylor Tomasi Hill (Marie Claire US Accessories Editor), now I snapped out of my summer dresses daydreaming and got back to fringed leather and mini skirts! That gray oversized top is easy to find, the (hopefully fake) fur collar too. However, I searched high and low after that particular skirt and I didn’t identify it (yet). Any ideas? (the picture was found here)
