Lily Cole Signed With The Body Shop For The Beauty With Heart Campaign

Lily Cole is slowly but steadily making her way back into our hearts with new fashion opportunities. After seeing her in Melissa’s latest ad campaign (The Power of Love, colorful and charming), it’s time to start dreaming about her upcoming appearance as another brand’s ambassador.

Lily signed up for The Body Shop’s “Beauty with Heart” ad campaign. Breaking globally from May 15, the campaign is all about cruelty – free makeup and fair trade, the main values guiding The Body Shop and Lily Cole’s upcoming collection with the brand. Not just a pretty face anymore, huh?

Smart phones have opened the world to new, endless possibilities. Smart phones are not just for business purposes or for tech gadgets enthusiasts! Smart phones became in just a couple of years time, simply impossible to replace when it comes to socializing, keeping in touch, informed and in time with every – new – thing in every domain.

Twitter and Instagram are the most notable expressions of being socially smart with your smart phone. Now there’s a new fashionable app you’ll want to try: Trendabl. It’s fashion’s Instagram: “A user will be able to take a picture and apply a filter to it, then they can post it right away to their friends or they can add more information.”.

As so many other tools before, Trendabl promises to revolutionize the way people do fashion. And not just that – famous fashionistas have joined the platform: Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen, Whitney Port, even Nicky Hilton.

For the moment, Trendabl is only available for iPhones, although it’s founder, Jon Alagem, has big plans for the new app: website, ecommerce. Ambitious much? Anyone tried Trendabl? Is it as good as they say it is?

For the April 2012 issue of Glamour Italia, Monica Bellucci looks summery and beautiful. As always. Her festive mood sustains Glamour’s special Anniversary edition (20 years of Glamour as the cover reads). Those cupcakes, however… I’ve seen more credible photosh’ops in my days, haven’t you?

Though it totally looks like promotional material, Kate Moss at the Ritz is pure visual bliss! Grace Coddington really signed a stunning piece of magazine work through this inside pictorial found in the pages of Vogue US April 2012 (yes, the one with JLo on the cover – which cover didn’t warn anyone about the heavenly goodies inside).

I may be not be thinking straight, my objectivity being blurred by the sight of Kate Moss who’s not doing as many magazine pictorials as before, now that she’s a settled woman (it’s not just my impression, is it? But I’m under the impression that she’s not all over the place like she was, say, two years ago?). Also, it’s a couture pictorial – so, naturally, the clothes are so much more beautiful, a thousand times more special and more spectacular than normal editorial items. Katniss is on the cover or Interview. Ahem Jennifer Lawrence is on the cover of Interview Magazine, the German edition, April 2012. It’s an awkward pose, even for lovely Jennifer Lawrence. Photographed by Matthias Vriens – McGrath, Jennifer upped her seduction game from girl – next – door to Warhol star. Hopefully she also gets to breathe in the inside pictorial (doesn’t she look like she’s barely holding her breath there?)

You all know Goop. Admittedly, not everyone is a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow, so her foray into social media isn’t popular with every-fashion-one and their respective dogs, but I’m sure, deep down inside, everyone can come forward and say that they read the Goop newsletter. At least once?

Well, anyway, last week or the one before that, Gwyneth was all fashionable and cute in a stylish newsletter talking about her key looks for Spring Summer 2012. The French have their weekly Elle issues, we have Goop. Right? So if you were to pick some really fashionable pieces for this season, this could be your perfect guideline! If you have $60.000 to spend, you can consider buying the world’s first backpack! Made in the USA in 1882, the first backpack was made by the French – Canadian Camille Poirier, in Duluth Minnesota as the Poirier Pack – Strap (now known as the Duluth Pack). Currently for sale on eBay, I’m sure the precious item will quickly find its way to a collector’s heart. And home. For this is a piece of history, not just a backpack.

I tried to find a good moment to share one of my favorite songs ever, performed by two very talented artists who always make me feel peaceful and fill my heart with shining light: Dido and A. R Rahman. I think that now it’s a good day to listen “If I Rise”. It’s one of the Original Songs nominated for an Oscar award last year (2011) for it’s from the original soundtrack of Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours”. So if you’re not familiar with the movie, be warned, the following video is definitely a spoiler. If you don’t want to know anything about “127 Hours” previous to actually watching the film, just close your eyes and let yourself carried away by the wonderful music!
