MAC Summer 2012 Collection Hey, Sailor!

Oh, this is all kinds of beautiful! First because I love stripes, second because I just love stripes, and then simply because I’m smitten about stripes! Oh, and did I tell you how I adore stripes?

Seriously, ever since the Breton top (yes, I’m talking about the striped tee) has become a fashionista wardrobe must, I keep seeing stripes everywhere, especially during the summer season! MAC cosmetics’ Summer 2012 “Hey, Sailor!” collection is perfect, in my opinion! And not just because I have a stripes obsession! So many sunkissed stripes! Ahem Brad Pitt for Chanel No. 5 perfume! No, it’s not an online petition you have to sign or anything crazy like that. Well, in fact it is. A bit crazy. But truth. Brad Pitt has just been announced as the new face of Chanel’s iconic perfume, Chanel No. 5. First. Chanel No.5. Man. Ever!

Although the shooting of the actual ad campaign is slated to begin next month in London, and the actual media diffusion of the promotional material is scheduled for September this year, we can only speculate about the advertising. What do you think the styling will be? Don’t forget that this the same Chanel No. 5 Marilyn Monroe said it’s the only thing she’s wearing to bed! Any ideas?

Hairstylist extraordinaire, celebrated feminist in all around revolutionary, Vidal Sassoon is no longer with us.

The British born hairdresser who changed women’s hair forever and opened new hairstyles doors in the fifties died, May 9th 2012 at his LA residence, reportedly suffering from leukemia. Marc showed up on the Met Ball 2012 Red Carpet with his ex – boyfriend, now reportedly his “best friend” Lorenzo Martone in an eyebrows raising ensemble.

Is this the absolute fashion recognition for Nicole Richie? News about her upcoming Macy’s collaboration started flying around, talking about a 20 – 30 pieces collection. Nicole Richie for Impulse hits the Macy’s stores this fall with versatile clothes to “dress it up and dress it down“, as reported. From reality show star to Macy’s Impulse (after Lagerfeld and Alberta Ferretti collaborations)? Kim Kardashian next?

What a wonderful cover! My dahlings, come closer! Arizona Muse is the hot model girl for the last four seasons or so (which, in fashion years, it’s like an eternity and a half!) although harshly criticized since the beginning of 2012 for (unfounded) various reasons. Her haircut was one of them.

But who cares about her hair when she delivers such an amazing cover? Arizona Muse is the third cover of i – D magazine’s summer 2012 issue (remember we already talked about pregnant Julia Restoin – Roitfeld and Raf Simmons getting their own covers) as photographed by Kayt Jones.

Love the cover, love the styling, I’m sure I’ll love the inside pictorial also, judging from the film preview here! I thought it was excessive from i – D to have eight different covers for the same issue: now I can’t get enough of them! Can you?
