Hope, Ryan, Serena Cover Vogue US June 2012

Have you seen Vogue US’ June 2012 cover? Completely unexpected, Vogue puts an Olympic issue on the newsstand and expects us to fall into the patriotic trap and forget about fashion, style and everything else Vogue is supposed to stand for.

Masterfully executed by Annie Leibovitz, the photo of Hope Solo and Serena Williams flanking Ryan Lochte lacks salt and pepper. So many things work against this cover: from the cliché beach picture we’ve seen Annie doing in the past to the draped beige – ish swimsuits (it occurred to me that these should make us think of golden medals – should they?)

Until more images will pop up online, just to have it all clear for everyone: Serena Williams needs no more introductions in or out of the tennis court – she’s a living legend. Hope Solo is a goalkeeper for the Seattle Sounders Women soccer team; Ryan Lochte is an American swimmer, six – time Olympic medalist.

How was your weekend, my daahlings? I hope it was all sunshine and cupcakes? We pretty much hanged out in the garden all weekend long, partying and celebrating with dear friends and family. It was lovely!

I have a confession to make, though – I’m particularly nervous whenever we throw one of these parties (though I should’ve got used to it by now): I want to get everything right and make everything as perfect as humanly possible. Hence, I thought this cute little poster from the “Keep Calm” series fits right in this weekend’s theme. How was your Mother’s Day? And how do you prepare your party? Do you have, like, a secret for keeping calm?

Ah, you gotta love tabloids! If she’s not fighting over Brad Pitt with Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie still has some belligerent issues left! Now not only Angelina doesn’t wear the said diamond ring, but inTouch reports from insiders source that she hates the ginormous bling!

And that she wanted an emerald instead. And that Brad really knows nothing of her!

umm.. I propose that, for the next tabloid cover, Angelina dramatically throws the ring on the Red Carpet at a movie premiere somewhere, and that, Jennifer Aniston, who was casually passing by, picks it up and goes on to marry whoever she wants with another ring designed by Brad Pitt!

Wouldn’t that be a regular soap opera?

You know there was this style rule saying that leggings are not pants? It even went viral at a time when everyone and their most stylish respective dogs were wearing tights and leggings as pants. Days have come and gone, seasons of fashion went down the catwalk road but some things never change: leggings are not pants. Men of style, please take note! {FYMW}

You know, I’ve been asking Santa for this teeny tiny gadget favor for so long now! And he keep saying it’s too hot in the Summer and he can get down on the chimney to bring it to me. (sad face) Although I instantly reply that he might as well, he has nothing to fear, the chimney isn’t on in the summertime, I’m still not convincing enough to get that iPad once and for all. (sad face. Again).

And then there’s the Kaiser. Who, you may remember, has this sweet little cutie pie kitty called Choupette. And who, just as his almighty stylish master, is particularly fond of iPads. A kitty cat! Playing with an iPad. Santa? Puuuuhleaaaase? (don’t you just miss those times when der Kaiser said he didn’t touched computers and all? today, news don’t circulate: news twitterate!)

So have you heard about Time magazine’s latest cover story? Hint: it’s about motherhood, breastfeeding, attachment parenting and things like that.

As if the talk only wouldn’t have been convincing enough, Time’s breastfeeding cover leaves little for the imagination. But much for the controversy. Too much, maybe? {Time}

This September, not only will we see Brad Pitt trying to sell us Chanel No. 5 Perfume, but also Ewan McGregor representing for Belstaff. The Scottish Actor already started shooting the ad campaign with Craig McDean and various male and female models, as reported by wwd.

However, this time, we have some Twitgoodies to stare at, before seeing the actual campaign later this fall. Because Ewan was most generous with his followers and he wanted to share the happy moment. And the leather. And the motorcycles. I can’t help but wonder, though, if Brad Pitt were to share his Chanel moment, what would he be twitting about?
