Emma Stone Talking About Her And Her Vogue Pictorial

Talking with you about Emma Stone’s Vogue July 2012 cover taught me one important thing – not smiling doesn’t necessarily mean not happy. As I always looked at Emma Stone as a happy person, I was under the impression that, because she wasn’t laughing ear – to – ear, she was teary eyed and sad.

Which, judging from the video below, couldn’t be more wrong! Emma talks about her experience with Vogue for the Mario Testino shot pictorial and she talks about experimenting. With different clothes, with different aspects of her personality. Acting, in short. And she seems to enjoy every second of it! (so do we!)

Dare To Wear The Wings Earrings By Susan Suh?

They say that, in order to be creative, one must forget the fear of being wrong. I found it to be true in a multitude of occasions. I actually got to the point where I don’t care if I’m wrong anymore, as long as I’m involved in a creative process. But enough about me, Susan Suh was the reason I started this in the first place, so let’s get back to her (who, you may find it surprising to know, creates her jewelry with the message “Dare to Live Your Dream” – how great is that?)

The wings earrings drew me towards Susan Suh – and as I came to read, I wasn’t the only one who found them magical (she was even featured on brides dot com). There’s more than the Wings (with or without Stem) Earrings – the 8 Wings Bracelet which you’ll see after the jump is just as beautiful!

Karlie Kloss W July 2012. Seeing Double.

And why shouldn’t I? At least I’m not ashamed to say that out loud in a world where if you don’t “get” fashion, you’re nobody and when you do “get” it, you’re a hipster. I’m not pretending to be a hipster by jumping up and down at the sight of Karlie Kloss doing the almost exact kind of cover as Joan.

Which, you already know, I thought it was brilliant – Joan Smalls on the cover of W Magazine is a bold move for everyone. Now I don’t get the boldness anymore – the creamy tan on Karlie’s face looks so much like Joan’s complexion (which should be natural, biensur – but what’s natural in fashion after all?) I kinda feel like this is one big sad joke. (the story continues right after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)

Natalia Vodianova, Brian Adams Adult Games For Harper’s Bazaar Russia July 2012

Fret not, it’s just a pictorial (and an associated cover story which I don’t really get since it’s in Russian, as posted by the good people at tFS). As photographed by Brian Adams himself, the playful couple wears Louis Vuitton (actually, only Natalia is wearing Vuitton). Which isn’t all that surprising since Natalia coupled up with one of the Arnault boys… Love is blind, LVMH not.

Catwalk Vs. Real Clothes. Tom Ford Weighs In

Contrary to my initial impulse who was advising me to do otherwise, I read a piece of interview with (and about, duh!) Tom Ford. Some of the things he said were, you know, in his “full of him” tradition. Some were pretty normal and logical, like these (do read through what Tom Ford said and tell me how you feel about it! more here)
Tom Ford about fashion “[W]hen you do a runway show you have to amp things up in a way so that they read from a great distance – so that they are designed for photography rather than for a consumer. So you can exaggerate things to the point where they don’t actually function in real life for most peoples’ lives.

And what I wanted to do was create clothes for real people. I think that’s one reason why so many people in the world have switched off of fashion. They look at it as a spectator sport.

They wanna see what everyone is wearing and how it looks, but then they put on their t-shirt and their jeans.”

2012 Evening Hair Must: Slick Deep Side Part Back Chignon

We’ve seen it on the Red Carpet a couple of times, but now, Modelinia officially called it a trend: if you want to look glamorous for a special (evening) occasion, you need a slick, shiny deep side part chignon! We love chignons as they are, but 2012 brought shiny back and a not so discrete off – center hairdo. How do you like it?

Show Your Fashion Colors On The Tennis Court With Chanel Tennis Balls

As we all know, this year is very athletic. It is, after all, an Olympic year. And even so, I admit I have a not – so – secret admiration for Isabel Marant’s wedge sneakers and I’m a Converse faithful wearer for my daily chores.

I even love playing the occasional tennis when my schedule allows me. But would I do it with Chanel Tennis Balls? I highly doubt it – but I’m certain they’ll be a sellout as they’re in Chanel’s offer for quite a while now – remember the white & pink ones? What you may not have known, is that the Chanel logo printed balls come in a set of four, with their own quilted leather pouch! Soon we’ll have a Chanel something for every need. What’s your Chanel fantasy?
