Spectacular Watch: Richard Mille’s RM 022 Carbon Tourbillon Aerodyne Dual Time

I’m an active person. Also, my day is clearly organized around the kids’ schedules. So, mostly, I’m not a wrist watch person. It makes me feel like I’m wearing handcuffs. Time handcuffs. But I do admire those who put some fancy timepiece on display, eager to talk and answer all kinds of questions about their precious wrist candy. So here’s an impressive time piece:

Richard Mille RM 022 Carbon Tourbillon Aerodyne Dual Time. Yes. All that to describe a watch! But Richard Mille is French, so…

Five of these precious time babies were made, with certainly a price to match the exceptional case (200 times stronger than steel) with the black polymer injection molded with carbon fiber nanotubes (don’t ask!). But what pushed me to talk about this watch to begin with is that – I can’t tell what time it is by looking at it! And that’s what a wrist watch is supposed to do, right? Help you figure out what time it is without spending an hour to decipher the hour dial. Right? Today is really a puzzling day

Chanel Is Trying To Hypnotize Us Into Buying Rouge Allure

What? You think it’s too much to say? I’d politely ask you to read the following before you’ll press play and experience the marketing feeling on your skin. Now – we’ve all seen it in movies, at least – hypnotic inductions can vary from asking a subject to stare at a moving pendulum or from asking a subject to concentrate on one’s voice only. I’m sure they’re more varied and more subtle than that, but you know, movies have a wide audience of varied IQ.

So, Chanel’s new Rouge Allure ad campaign is trying to get our attention focused on one spot (literally) which deepens with every frame into a sparkling Kaleidoscope. While I felt like looking at some Klingonian with a high disco fever, my stomach was getting that unease feeling of vertigo. Inverted. Like I was getting dizzy inside myself.

Now I was never hypnotized before, nor was I planning on being so while watching a Chanel Beauty ad campaign. But were you? (hypnotized or something similar) – anything remotely like this feeling induced by Inguna Butane as Chanel’s Rouge Allure ambassador?

Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2012 Ad Campaign: Day & Night

Eniko Mihalik and Kasia Struss represent for Alberta Ferretti’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 Ad Campaign. The power duo, photographed by Mario Testino seem to play some kind of day & night scenario, a veritable fight for marketing supremacy. All in the name of fashion, biensur! May the most luxurious win! {FgR}

Jessica Simpson Wedding Dresses Soon Available

I’m puzzled: Jessica Simpson, proud mother of a baby girl, Maxwell Drew has just announced that she’s expanding into bridal design. Because, you see, she’s getting ready for her big day with fiancé Eric Johnson (former NFL player). Naturally, she wants to share her joy with the world by creating all kinds of wedding dresses for all kinds of body shapes and tastes.

Now I began by saying that I’m puzzled. Why? Because, you see, Jessica Simpson is getting ready for her 2nd “big day”, being previously married to Nick Lachey (from 2002 to 2005). Shocking reports state that the iconic wedding dresses (& more) designer, Vera Wang just announced her separation from husband of 23 years, Arthur Becker. Some asked if this will affect her bridal line’s sales. I say: who even cares she’s getting divorced as long as A – to – Z listers get married in her designs?

(answer: we care. Because we know. And we also know that Jessica Simpson is at her 2nd big day dress. Combine the two and get a new “inside” question: does it take a divorce to make a good wedding dress?)

Versace’s Dark Fall 2012 Goth Glam Campaign

It may be dark. It may be a nonsensically overused pairing (concrete & couture), but there’s something in Versace’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 ad campaign that I madly, deeply want! The image below: dress & footwear – if I close my eyes, make a wish upon a (fashion) twinkling star, would I find them in my wardrobe tomorrow? Please? I have nowhere in particular to go dressed like this, but I’d frame the look and take good care of it. Forever and ever. (puhleaaase?) {FgR}

Bette Franke’s Hermes Fall 2012 Ad Campaign Is All Kinds Of Stunning

Because I’m a selfconfessed Hermes ad – fan, I wanted to ask you if you saw the maison’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 ad campaign. Have you? Because I did, and I’m under its spell! Bette Franke as photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg has time on her side! (click the image for larger view)

(They say…) I, on the other hand, say they have a talented Photoshop team working under someone who saw there was more to this wonderful application than just the smooth (skin) tool! Blending fall’s fiery red leaves with winter’s immaculate snow in a transcendent leather move feels so natural, so artistic and stylish! I’ll have to dig deeper and find the magicians behind Hermes’ ad campaigns. Deal?
