2013 Inspiration Board: Pink!

How is 2013 treating you so far, my dahlings? How was your New Year’s Eve party? Or the very first day of 2013? How about a little moment of MixInspiration? After all, it’s our first Hump Day this year!

I recently discovered that I have more pink clothes that I care to admit. More pink nail polishes that I care to differentiate and I feel more inspired by pink – anything that I care to acknowledge! I was always a bit tomboy-ish and always trying to swim against the flow. I think my rebel days are gone now. Unless rebels go for pink nowadays (wink).

Oh, and I also like glitter. A lot. Actually – glitter makes me so happy! Why is that? I think I’ll have to leave glitter out for another MixInspiration session. For now, let’s enjoy a healthy dose of pink and a bit of futuristic wisdom: ‘The Best is yet to Come’! Have a nice 2013! Next to Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence is definitely one of my favorite young actresses. They have a candid, honest quality to their acting and being I keep falling for every time. Every movie. Every pictorial.

I haven’t yet seen her latest (Silver Linings Playbook) but I’m guessing it’s at least just as good as the previous roles she brought to life on the big screen. But enough about her acting – you know I can carry on the movie – talk far and well! Let’s see those magazines she’s in! Marie Claire South Africa January 2013 and Vanity Fair US February 2013. Oh, my! How quickly the world turns! The sparkles from the New Year’s Midnight toasts glasses haven’t even faded from memory yet and here we are, talking about a glorious fashion Red Carpet event (and more) to go down in less than two weeks time!

The 2013 Golden Globes are scheduled to air on January 13th (on NBC) and here’s the first promotional poster for the event in question! Starring the brilliant Amy Poehler and Tina Fey in dazzling glamorous (similar) sequined dresses, smiling and revealing their headspinning, colorful shoes for the special Red Carpet Occasion: Converse sneakers! As the midnight count will walk us into the New Year, I hope you’ll all remember to feel love and joy in your hearts! It’s what matters most!

I also hope the year that we’re about to end was meaningful and loveful and that the one we’re about to enter will be joyful, successful and, again, loveful! I’m so looking forward to what 2013 has to bring, to sharing and dissecting it all with you!

Now it’s time for some quality fashion news! My dahlings! You need to see this cover! Fei Fei Sun’s Vogue Italia January 2013 is beyond amazing! It’s just Fashion, with a capital F! Steven Meisel photographed one of the most beautiful Vogue covers I’ve seen in a long, long time!

(It’s hard to ignore Vogue Italy’s issues, huh?) For 2013’s first issue, called ‘Global Life’, they chose Fei Fei! It sure sounds interesting, can’t wait to see more than this flawless preview! Oh – which reminds me – there’s this backstage video you can watch after the jump – I was really impressed by the looks of this pictorial and I am, again, thankful to Franca Sozzani for encouraging the right fashion attitude through her Vogue!

There goes another year, huh? I know we’re doing fashion and style talk here, but this year I became addicted to newscasts. Something clicked in me, like never before, and I realized I had to stay connected. Not just with the latest fashion news, but with the latest news in general.

One thing, though – I don’t watch the news on TV – I listen to the news on the radio (images tend to haunt me more than words, so I willingly limit my news access to audio only). And so I laugh, I cry, I feel inspired and motivated by what’s going on every day in the world. I can’t ignore it anymore, I’m a child of the world! Pretty long introduction, huh? But it was important for me to say that in order to make you understand why I saw this video retrospective as important for us, here at StyleFrizz.

Some share their baby news, Justin Bieber shares his ink news, to each his own. Now: what’s his latest tattoo about? Religion! Yes! Because it’s the Season, right? So to mark that down (or for whatever other reason), Justin Bieber’s left leg – which also featured a tattoo of Jesus’ face – now has a permanent pair of praying hands rising from a bouquet of roses he already had around his ankle.
