2015 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Hair Trend: The Bob

If you’ve seen it once, you can pretend it didn’t happen. If you’ve seen it twice, you start to notice it, but the bob hairdo was all over the Red Carpet at tonight’s 2015 Emmy Awards Ceremony!

From Lady Gaga to Jessica Lange, so many wonderful ladies had their bob haircut on full display for the glamorous event! Claire Danes, Kerry Washington, Amy Landecker even went as far as to style a faux shorter bob haircut to gain more edge than the other red carpet bob haircuts! Side swept, asymmetrical bangs, curly or slick pulled back, the bob haircut is the haircut to wear as seen at the 2015 Emmys!

As you know I have a head full of frizzy curls, I love the untamed glory of a curly-wavy hairdo (hurray for Jill Soloway!), but I still appreciate the effort and the work put into a slick, straight hairstyle – that’s where the haircut is more important than ever. The stray hairs come in natural in a curly do, but a stray hair in a slick pulled back hairdo? Ughhh! The fancy paparazzi cameras would be all over that!

Jamie Alexander and Taraji P Henson – you did it girls! everything is in its place, no vagabond hair there!

Louise Roe’s perfectly mid-parted bob was as slick as her entire look! Well done! Even Lady Gaga left her wigs at home to wear the natural hair in a retro bob! Something happened to her face, I can’t really put my finger on it – the lips? The cheecks?

Either way, I’m happy to see the real Lady Gaga hair under the spotlight!

I admire the effortless undo look as seen on Sarah Hyland and Lena Headey! Proof that at any age, the wild waves can make an amazing hairstyle! Julie Bowen is struggling between a beach hairdo and a slick side swept long fringe but she’s gorgeous anyway and we love her dearly!

Now for the hot-rolled bobs: Niecy Nash, Jessica Lange, June Ambrose hairdos were a studied masterpiece of taming the natural hair and discipline it into a nicely bouncing halo! Beautiful, but oh-so time consuming and sometimes too-stiff! You can’t have a perfectly classic, retro do without a bit of effort, though, so it’s all worth it in the end! (images getty)
