You may or may not remember, but I said I wanted to take the Oscars fails out of the way so we could concentrate on the better things happening on that glorious Red Carpet. I am – although a bit later than expected – delivering my closure on the 2013 Oscars.
Because I want to keep it positive, thus I really wanted to have this final word. A good word about the Oscars, to help us get through this year until the next Oscars Red Carpet. In no particular order, just as they come, a handful of interesting, beautiful, surprising details you might have missed during the initial Red Carpet reports:
Jennifer Lawrence’s fall, although not exactly a Red Carpet happening, it was, nonetheless, the event that marked her and a good part of the reports about the evening in question. I even saw this exact image turned into a b&w rendition with a Christian Dior writing added under the name “Christian Dior Fall Campaign”. Suitable.
And, just because every Queen needs someone to help her around with her heavenly dress, another Jennifer Lawrence precious moment, this time from the Red Carpet:
Talking about dresses: I wanted to add a little something about Olivia Munn’s Marchesa red dress – which was really beautiful and suited Olivia perfectly. I guess you can tell that I really love this kind of ‘offstage’ moments…
Talking about dresses – let’s admire this wonderful close- up of Kristin Chenoweth’s Tony Ward dress. It’s just beautiful! Haute Couture-ish!
And have you seen how gracious Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman was on the Red Carpet? Pregnant and dressed in a white dress of her own design – really beautiful!
Another lovely pregnant lady, the pride and joy of her husband, Channing Tatum: Jenna Dewan. All giggly and blossoming! Wait till you get the first nights sans sleep (wink)!
You told me some discussed heavily around Zoe Saldana’s flawless Oscars dress – a matter of belt, you said? Looking at this picture, I really can’t understand what bothered them! Also – has anyone noticed the rings? I loved every single one of them, and especially how she was wearing them!
I forgot to talk about it at firs, but I’m making up for it now: have you seen Helena Bonham Carter’s ombre dress? She was wearing – as usually – Vivienne Westwood. There’s so much about Helena I love: her huge talent, her immensely unconventional nature, her hair which always seems to have a life of its own, her sense of fun and fashion. Truly a unique person!
Have you seen Les Miserables? Even so, there are little chances that Samantha Barks, who was part of the cast, would ring any bells. But check out the amazing pendant by House of Waris for Forevermark she wore for the 2013 Oscars! Magical!
So were Catherine Zeta – Jones Lorraine Schwartz’ earrings! Perfectly complimenting her outfit and her lovely face!
Oh, and have you seen Quvenzhane Wallis’ pretty puppy bag? She carries one for every glamorous occasion and this one was pretty tutu-ed.
Let’s look at some of the surprising snapshots caught during the night’s Red Carpet parade: Amy Adams making sure her hair was in the right place:
Emmanuelle Riva making herself heard across the Red Carpet:
Jennifer Hudson making her best rendition of one of Taylor Swift’s many ‘surprise faces’. Kidding. She’s just funny that way!
Helen Hunt answering honestly about her dress choice. (kidding, I have absolutely no idea what she was talking about, of course!)
Kelly Osbourne hiding behind her ginormous clutch to exchange some private gossip on the Red Carpet.
Salma Hayek obviously better than anyone barely dissimulating her yawn..
An unexpected encounter: Adele and Norah Jones being all nice and polite with each other.
Now for the lovebirds: Catherine Zeta Jones being all affectionate with her husband, Michael Douglas.
Helena Bonham Carter with her half, Tim Burton, being as darkly affectionate as only they know how:
Justin Theroux looking with pride and joy at his ladylove, Jennifer Aniston:
Priceless: Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban.
But have you seen the men? starting with the opening dance:
and continuing with another dance: Jeremy Renner was completely out of Bourne – character doing a dance routine on the Red Carpet.
Christoph Waltz trying to convince everyone that he still has the looks even though he doesn’t have the (Django) beard anymore!
And how about The Artist’s Jean Dujardin’s beard? Very becoming!
…this year’s winner, the very talented Daniel Day Lewis being all emotional on stage:
And look how Hugh Jackman is trying to escape the wrestling hand of the one and only Super Stacy … ahem former professional wrestler, now George Clooney’s gf, Stacy Keibler.
…talking of which: here goes Super Stacy with newly bearded George Clooney:
Oh, and just in case you got hungry going through all these: take a looooong good look at what was in the menu for the night in question! (images Getty)

Please find and post who designed Samantha Barks’ dress that was worn during the Les Mis performance.
Sure thing, Lily! Check it out here!
No, I did not miss the exquisite food showed of at the red carpet. On the contrary. Luckily I had nice food in the around…..But I had my thoughts…..
I can not help but think Jennifer Lawrence is paid for that fall. I do not believe for one second it was accidentally. Too good to be true.
So, I wouldn’t get into it but I can’t help myself…..what the **** was Michelle Obama doing there announcing the best film? No, not for real but from the White House? Oh, she looked lovely as ever! But why? She’s the president’s wife, the FLOTUS! Especially in these time of economic turmoil that was not something I would have appreciate as an American citizen. As a world citizen I was disappointed…..
