When it comes to iconic underwear, there’s no match for Calvins! From the 1992 fashion heydays when Kate Moss was cuddling next to Marky Mark to just yesterday when Rita Ora showed her Calvin Klein lingerie onstage, it seems like nothing changed and white Calvin Klein undies still run the world!
Advertising may be going strong on new channels, but it’s still clear as day that more and more stars are representing for the American brand’s underwear in an effort to keep white cotton lingerie relevant in a world of lace and Angels.
Calvin Klein even enrolled one of Victoria’s Secret former stars, Miranda Kerr, to show off her wide elastic in an Insta-picture, just like Fergie did six months after giving birth to her son. Lara Stone, Iggy Azalea, Kendall Jenner are also part of the Insta-models on Calvin Klein’s payroll as they’re pushing for a social approach of the same old raunchy underwear perspective.

Except that this isn’t 1992 anymore and we don’t make a case of seeing celebrities underwear anymore. Entertainment has changed but Calvin people, just like the white undies, seem to have remained the same. In a world where the likes of Gaga and Miley are constantly performing in provocative lingerie is there room for Calvins anymore?

In a world where Justin Bieber goes to a business meeting with, literally, his pants down, showing his (non-Calvin) undies, is there really room for the wide elastic band peaking from underneath high-top jeans, you tell me! Also: who’s your new favorite Calvins model? (images Instagram)

I’m stuck in the ’90s with Kate and then Marky Mark. Still love that campaign it’s such a great shoot while they even didn’t like each other while posing. Herb Ritts at his über best because face it, it’s so beautiful that the rest look cheap-ish.
Ah, have you seen new Calvin Klein’s Eternity ad campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.? I bet you have. Christy Turlington and husband Ed Burns do match the earlier ’90s campaign. I loved that one too. Christy with Mark van der Loo (Mark Vanderloo) and shot by Peter Lindbergh.
Christy and Ed modeling together is the first ad-campaign in years that made my heart jump and left me with a smile. Style at its best.
I bet some of the other models are s*xy looking and a joy to lots of their fans. But really, do they look as hot and stylish s^xy as Kate and Mark did?
Forgot to say I don’ think that this is lingerie in my never humble opinion, that’s underwear. But I love good underwear as much as lingerie. ;)
Maybe that’s why Kate&Mark’s ad looked so amazing? because they looked like they didn’t stand each other lol
Christy and Ed Burns are a total catch for Calvin Klein and their brand’s philosophy but Christy should adopt a more modeling look than a life-lesson gaze… But maybe that’s just my perspective?
Hmm, I think Christy is the perfect combination of both……that’s my perspective.
Anyway, Kate and Mark’s is an iconic campaign, No, they look amazing because she one of the best models ever and he’s an actor and Herb Ritts the photographer. Amazingly, 1994 – 2014, where has those twenty year gone? The campaign still looks great!
