Lady Gaga On Stage. Fame Monster Alright!

I’m not usually this type of person. Criticizing someone’s physical appearance is simply beyond me. Only Lady Gaga’s stage pictures from the Amsterdam performance were too much to keep mum about.

I haven’t been to the beautiful Netherlands myself, so I wouldn’t know it makes you feel. But Lady Gaga really wanted to live like the Amsterdam people do, enjoy their freedom and taste their plants. As we all know, Marijuana is free for consumption in Amsterdam so seeing her Gaganess smoking pot onstage, during her live performance, wasn’t at all surprising.

Lady Gaga spilling out of her stage costume

What was surprising was seeing her spilling out of her stage outfit and looking all glowy, red – faced and weird, praising the benefits of smoking pot (at least that’s what the pictures published by TheSun show). I can go as far as understanding her ways of artistic expression, how she dresses up like a walking carnival. I can even understand the way fashion people look up to her and think she’s a living wonder of style. But: keep it together woman! You’re in no shape to be an example when you look like this! Your job is being a music entertainer. On stage. Not in the Red Light district.

Lady Gaga weight out of control

Once you see it you can´t unsee :-(

Yes, ana and once you read something people keep that also in mind. I was so angry….not about the photos but how my country has been portrayed. How often do I have to read that we are: Amsterdam, cannabis and the red light district. And that’s something that can’t be unseen or unnoticed either. Too many people keep that in mind. :((

I post a link in another comment below in a comment with photos made by other photographers than this one The Sun published. And probably photoshop. And no, I am not a Gaga fan at all. Reviews said it was a solid show for fans. She appeared to be vulnerable and very kind to her fans and showed off at times her musical talent and unless Madonna she did not lip sync according to the reviews. The two concerts were not sold out. Madonna’s were. Perhaps the economy or/and Gaga’s over exposure is to blame? The Darkness as support act is also funny.

Photos of Gaga in the Ziggo Dome, September 18, 2012 here.

Some different kind of photos are awaiting moderation.

I am not a big Lady Gaga fan, but I must say I think it takes guts to go out on the stage and perform when you don’t conform to societies ideals of physical beauty. The fact that you believe her weight gain to be ‘out of control’ (That’s the caption for the meat picture) shows how out of touch you are with the realistic sizes of ordinary women.
And her costumes are no more outlandish than usual, so is it that she is heavier that is making you compare her with a prost!tute in the red light district?
Stars can be as revealing and provocative as they like, but only if they are stick thin? How dare they push the boundaries if they are carrying a few extra pounds.
Shameful! Thanks to these sorts of opinions we can look forward to years of women of all ages hating their natural bodies.

I myself cannot abide Lady Gaga, musically or fashion wise.

Haley as for her body at the moment, where was all this accept a woman’s natural body and image when the latest September issue came out with Lady G photoshopped? I have not seen your comments regarding that very visual comment by American Vogue about how she should look.
Lady G can be as tiny or as thick as she wishes, but she still does not have the panche or verve either, Grace Jones, Madonna or Beth Ditto.

And Riana, yes I agree with you that it is annoying that most people just think of the Netherlands as some kind of free for all den of iniquity. There is so much art, innovation, beauty and culture there. There is more to Holland than pot and se><.

right, they pay much more attention to physical detail in the said district, Hayley. I shouldn’t have compared Gaga to those girls!

It’s not about size, girl. It’s about common sense and decency. It’s about how you sell yourself. If Gaga’s intention is to promote herself as that (above), I fear for our children. Who are already bombed (visually) with all kinds of dubious characters & attitudes.

It’s simply beyond my understanding why entertainers, in order to sell their act today, have to forget their clothes and be as provocative as possible. Maybe that’s why I’ll always prefer Adele to a Gaga or Rihanna or whatever other”pop – star” made more of costumes than talent.

Point is that when you’re selling an image, a package more than the content, you have to be extra careful about the wrapping. I’m guessing some people won’t pay / appreciate as much a very expensive gift with torn edges or crippled shell than they would a pristine one…

Well, I hope she’ll ride a bike next time she goes to Amsterdam. Just to balance w33d things out.

You people scare me…..:(((

Dressing with pieces of meat is an opening for public´s scrutiny, isn´t it ? I thought the meaning of that dress was to compare herself with a product thus being subject of criticism too…

I am with Haley. She made some very valid points. I am yet too insecure to post photos on Facebook. And I am not overweight but thin. But I get older and that’s a crime these days in a world where we have to be young forever. And are banned from magazines as models. I have lived, with none regrets, so maybe that shows too and that’s also a crime these days in certain circles. Yes, girls and women get the wrong image of themselves due to what the media serves us on a daily basis.

You who do criticise Gaga were not at the concert! I told you the reviews were good when it comes to her performance. Madonno two Ziggo Dome concerts were not hailed at all.
Viktor & Rolf, known as huge fans, tweeted “Best concert ever”. As a lover of music I judge performers firstly for their music. I am not a fan of Lady Gaga and her tricks but I can see the undeniable talent of Stefani Germanotta and I do find of some of her Gaga songs catchy and fun when they are on the radio. I also think she sounds wonderful alone with her piano. But I wonder what’s the matter with this girl? Something is wrong. Another victim of everything to soon, too many overexposure. in music and fashion….pushed, pushed to let the money get it in….to end up in a meat costume which I have condemned earlier. It’s hard for an artist to get attention in the ugly prefabricated music/fashion world. (Thank God rock is still alive!)

That Gaga did gain weight so fast must have a reason. Good or bad. Time will tell. So I am not going to judge for her current weight due to some photos from a gossip magazine like The Sun is for crying out loud….of course Daily Fail jumped on the bandwagon later that day also with a certain tone on Amsterdam….pfff…..Nothing of the kind in the Netherlands on which I am proud! I can come up with some fine comments too to defend my country and compare my country to other countries….. But I am not gonna do that…there’s enough hate in this world…..that’s what I fear more for the young generation than Gaga’s meat dress. And the tone that’s been handled here when someone does not agree and wrote her opinion well, it did honestly scare me of… it even has made me feel sad to be honest.

You see as Haley I did not reply to Gaga’s cover either. No one did. Not here on Stylefrizz anyway. I noticed that cover of course. But everything and anything is photoshopped!! Pfff…..:(

If you ever visit Amsterdam and love music and there are tickets still tickets for a concert in the Ziggo Dome available: grab the change! It’s new and it has the best acoustic ever. I have seen Pearl Jam there, they were the first to play there. We couldn’t believe our ears…..what an acoustic. Great band to of course :)

Go to EYE, the new beautiful Dutch Film Museum. Such wonderful architecture. Go to our famous renovated Rijksmuseum (I hate the new architecture others love it…). Have fun in Amsterdam the city has a lot to offer.
